Christmas Gifts

Do you like to make your own gifts?  Consider using the Close to My Heart Base and Bling line.  It is so easy to make a unique gift using the wonderful assortment of pendants – round, square, oval or rectangle.  You have your choice of silver or antiqued gold.  Then you can choose your own design for the pendent or use some to the sticker sheets that CTMH offers (you can see the choice here)  I decided to make a few necklaces as christmas gift for some family members ~ including myself 🙂

Polar bear necklaces ~ Base & Bling ~ catscrapbooking.comAren’t these polar bears adorable??? I had this pattern paper for many years now waiting for the “right” project.  Well I decided this would be the prefect project for them.  I used a 1″ circle punch to cut the two on the outsides and then fussy cut the one in the middle.  I added some Stickles to the two on the with the hat to make the appearance of snow.  I used CTMH teal glitter paper to back the bear I fussy cut.  Then using the Artiste cartridge I cut this cute pocket envelope to hold the necklaces.

Stampers with Attitude ~ Happy Holidays Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!! The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing Happy Holidays based artwork.   If you are just hopping here from SHEILA BENNETT’S Bl0g  then you are in the right spot. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants at the end of this blog.

I wanted to get ahead and create a Christmas layout so that once Christmas is over I can just drop the photos in and hopefully stay on top of things.  Well that is the thought process but reality is it still takes me months to print my photos.  Well at least the hard part is done the designing :-).

Here is my layout I designed using Yuletide Carol paper pack.

Yuletide Layout ~ We Believe ~ Catscrapbooking.comFor this layout I used both my Silhouette and Cricut to make cuts.  The poinsettias and journaling shape are cut using the Artiste and Art Philosophy cartiges.  The circle, title and flourish were cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  I designed this layout with flip flaps in mind as it would be easy to add them depending on the number of photos taken at Christmas.

List of products used:

  • Paper Pack~ Yuletide Carol
  • Cardstock ~ Cashmere, New England Ivy, Ruby and Colonial White
  • Cricut Cartridges ~ Art Philosophy and Artiste
  • Embellishments ~ Gold Sequins Z2012, Gold Shimmer TrimZ1985
  • Makers ~ Journaling pen and Carmine ShinHan Marker Z2448

Now hop on over to DEBBIE ANDREWS Blog and see what holiday creation she has designed for you today.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ Y

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “Y”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “Y” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY .  If you just came from Linda’s Blog then you are in the right place.

Usually I would struggle with the letter “Y” but this year we are very lucky as one of paper packs starts with the letter “Y” ~ Yuletide Carol.  And how fitting is this that we are embarking on the holiday season, what better way to showcase the Yuletide Carol paper pack.

ABC's Y ~ Yuletide Carol ~

I saw this cut file on the Silhouette store and knew it would be a fun project to do.  When I got to thinking about what I wanted to do for this hop, I knew this would be prefect.  I did modify it a bit with adding more leaves. Also just using a paper ring was not stable enough for all these flowers to be able to hand.  So I reinforced with a mat board ring which is not visible.ABCs Yuletide Carol ~

For this project I used:

  • Silhouette Machine
  • Paper Pack ~ Yuletide Carol
  • Cardstock ~ New England Ivy, Canary and Ruby
  • Inks ~ Cashmere, Ruby and New England Ivy
  • Adhesive ~ Liquid Glass
  • Extras ~ mat board
