Color Dare #457 ~ Tic-Tac-Toe Isabella

Happy Friday! Welcome to another Color Dare Challenge! For Color Dare Challenge #457 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe Board with Isabella Paper Pack. Pick any Row, Column, or Diagonal, you can add Black, White, and Neutral for Free.

I went with the middle Column ~ Ballarina, Bluebird and Gold. I did add in Mink, Black and White.

I love the Waterfall Thin Cuts and have not played with the Happy Birthday Song Stamp set. So I used them to create this interactive card. I used one of the pattern papers from Isabella Collection. I used Mink as the base for the Waterfall and Daisy White to stamp on. I used Tattered Rose and Blueprint Distressed Oxide Inks. I also used Black Pigment Ink with Clear Embossing Powder.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #457 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. You can also link up via Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr and  other forums. For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Technique Hop – Interactive Elements

Welcome to the Technique Hop!!

This month we are exploring techniques using some of the interactive items that Close to My Heart offers. The two interactive elements that come to mind for me are the Waterfall Thin Cuts and the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts. If you are coming from MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 9 makers participating in this hop.

I designed two cards for you one using Waterfall Thin Cuts and the other using the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts. I will show each to you in greater detail.

For this card I used a pattern paper from Wander for the background. I used the adorable Jawsome Birthday set with Carolina, Sapphire and Charcoal ink. I added a bit of Mink Twine and Steel Stickles.

Here is the card using the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts.

For this card I used the Seasonal Mix-in for the background. I used the Desserts à la Whirl Stamp and thin cut. Here is how it works.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto BRANDI ROBINSON’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

Scardy Cat Waterfall Card

I have been busy getting ready for the Open House/Crop which is in less than two weeks.  It is going to be a great on so if you are in the Spokane Area you will want to make sure you come!  It will be August 16th at the North Spokane Library.  If you want to come to the crop you will need to RSVP to me to save your spot.

Here ia a card I designed using some of the Halloween product.  I have always loved the Waterfall style cards and it was one of the first fancy style cards I learned to make when I started making cards.  I decided it was time pull out this technique as it would work wonderfully with the adorable Trick or Treats Sweets B1460 .

Halloween waterfall card

I actually used two different sizes when I was designing the waterfall aspect. the one on the left is 1 3/4 inches wide while the one on the right is 2 inches wide.  It does effect the scoring when you change the width as you are working with smaller squares.

To get the ink to pop on the black cardstock you will want to use your pigment inks.  I used Frightfully Fun B1453 stamp set with all the great halloween expressions.

Waterfall Cards

I have really enjoyed making cards. In fact I did not realize how many cool techniques with card making there are. I really like the interactive ones particularly the waterfall card. Here are a couple of versions.

This Butterfly card was made with the footloose paper, lagoon, colonial white, sweet leaf and olive card stock. I used a stamp set from Technique Tuesday for the saying and butterflies. I then used watercolor pencils to color the butterflies.

This was a card I designed for the malamute rescue I volunteer for. It was fun to use some of my dog themed stamps. I used scraps of my papers that I had around. Cards can be a great way to use left over scraps.

This card was also created using some of the papers I had around. I used a stamp set by Technique Tuesday for the wine theme. I used the CTMH stamp set Life is Tweet for the “It’s your birthday”. The “cheers” was stamped using the Trinity alphabet by CTMH.
