I had so much fun with this paper pack making Valentine’s Day cards.

Don’t you just love this paper pack?

I love the fun cards I designed for my upcoming Card Workshop using these.

For this I used my Cricut to cut the hearts and letters.  I paired it with Crusin’ to Adventure Stamp & Thin Cuts. I stamped the cute dump truck in Candy Apple and added a little Red Shimmer Trim.

This card pattern is in the Happy Heart Workshop but I modified it a bit.  I added the large stitched heart with the Stitched Hearts Thin Cuts.

I love the dinosaurs in the Something Fierce ~ Scrapbooking stamp set and though it would make a great Valentine’s Day Card.  I used Raspberry, Pixie and Charcoal inks.

I did use a couple retired thin cuts with this card. I made a stencil by randomly placing hearts in a rectangle and then had my Cricut cut it with our Stencil Sheets.  I used the Texture Paste ~ Transparent Gloss. I would love to know which is your favorite of the Valentines Cards. Leave me a comment on which one you like the best.

Your next stop is along this hop is MELINDA EVERITT’S Blog, so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Color Dare #325 ~ LOC Peacock, Eggplant, Glacier, Sugarplum, Heather, Silver

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #325 we are focusing on our LOVE OF COLOR Idea book.  We will be picking different color combinations and you get to choose which ones to use; however;  you must choose at least(3) of the colors. You are able to use neutrals – Black, Grey, Brown, Kraft, Cream and White in your design but NO OTHER COLORS. This weeks LOVE OF COLOR we are featuring: PEACOCK, EGGPLANT, GLACIER, SUGARPLUM, HEATHER and SILVER.  If you do not have these Close to My Heart colors you can choose a close match.

I chose to use Eggplant, Sugarplum, Peacock, Glacier and Heather.

Here is a close up of the card.

The card design is pattern 5 from the Make it from Your Heart Volume 4 Idea Book. The background is from Boutique paper pack which was just retired. The Eggplant polka-dot is from Documented paper pack which is also retired. I used the You Have My Heart Stamp set.  I stamped the heart in sugarplum on white cardstock. I then come back with the sentiment and stamped in Eggplant. The XOXO was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white embossing powder. I cut the tag using one of the Thin Cut Fancy Tags.

Here is the inside of the card. I used the You Have A Heart for the inside of the card using Eggplant and Peacock ink.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #325 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Wishing you a happy Valentine’s Day!! I know many people feel this is a “Hallmark” holiday.  You either love it, deal with it, or skip it.  Personally I am in the middle.  My husband is lucky as I don’t expect or want flowers or gifts.  I do enjoy making cards as it is an excuse to craft!!!  Here are my cards for my husband and son.

This one I designed for my husband.  I used a cut file from my Silhouette.

For my son’s card I saw this adorable card on Pinterest and knew I needed to replicate. Now I did not have the same stamp set but I was able to improvise!

Stampers with an Attitude ~ La Vie En Rose

If you are just starting here or hopping here from MELINDA EVERITT ’S Blog  then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating consultant at the end of my blog.

I decided to design my card after seeing this one on Pinterest.   I love designing my own designs in Design Space.  For this card I used hearts from Artbooking, Artistry and Art Philosophy.

La Vie En Rose ~ Beloved Bouquet ~ Hearts ~ CatScrapbooking.comHere is the inside of the card ~

La Vie En Rose ~ Beloved Bouquet ~ Hearts ~ Valentine's ~ CatScrapbooking.comSo to make the card base I used the three different hearts then welded them to a rectangle so I created the heart edge.  Before I welded everything I made a copy of the grouped hearts so I could cut the individual hearts to add to the base.  I really love the way this turned out.

Technique Blog Hop~ Irresistible Texture

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

Technique blog badge - Irresistable

This month there are 7 of us highlighting the Irresistible Texture which is featured on page 11 of the new Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book.  Irresistible Texture can be created by using Close to My Hearts fabulous embossing folders.  There are 4 new ones (Hearts, Vine, Diamond and Scallop) in the Seasonal Expressions 1.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, you are on the right track!

Heartstrings ~ Love Ya Silly ~ Catscrapbooking.com

I so love embossing folders as they give texture to solid cardstock.  One of the unique features of Close to My Heart cardstock is the white core. So after you use the embossing folders you can come back with a sanding block and turn the embossed area white!! This is what I did with the hearts. I also used a white pen to accent parts of the stamped images.  I also did a little paper piecing to make the eyes of these adorable monsters pop.

Products used:

  • Cardstock ~ Cranberry 1272, Whisper X5929 and Lagoon X5762
  • Paper Pack ~ Heartstrings X7193B
  • Stamp Set ~ Love Ya Silly B1470
  • Ink ~ Daisy WhiteZ2163, LagoonZ2195 , Chrystal Blue Z2117, and Hollyhock Z2128
  • Shimmer Trim ~ Z3024
  • Puffies ~ Stuck on You Z3037
  • Embossing Folder ~ Hearts Z3018

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto TONYA WHITEHURST’S Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
