When I sat down to design my project I was looking for inspiration and saw the Mojo Monday sketch #  and that triggered my creative juices.  I knew I needed to design a Valentine’s Day card for my husband and the ” you are”, the “so” and the “awesome” from this stamp set would be perfect.  So here is my creation:

Your the Bomb, Heartstrings ~

Here is the inside of the card.

Your the Bomb, Heartstrings inside

For this card I used the following products:

  • Shimmer Trim ~ Teal Z1918 & White Z3024
  • Heart Embossing Folder Z3018
  • Cardstock ~ Hollyhock, Lagoon and White Daisy

Valentines using EOS

Have you discovered the cute egg shaped lip balms called EOS?  I have been seeing them everywhere and there are a lot of knock offs too.   I purchased one for my son as I thought it would be easy for him to use and flavored.  It was a hit so I was then hooked.  Then I saw where people were designing cute gifts using these little eggs.  There are a bunch on Pinterest for Christmas gifts and I have been seeing some for Valentines.  So I decided this would be the perfect valentines gift for my son’s teachers.

Fox EOS Valentine ~ Catscrapbooking.comI just love foxes, so I knew this design would be prefect. This with a Silhouette image which I modified.  I added an oval to the heart to accommodate the EOS.  Since I was giving this as a gift to someone I did not want to open the package like most people do, so instead of using a 1.5 inch circle, I used an oval which was 1.982 inches wide and 2.287 inches tall.  This worked out great!  I used Close to My Heart cardstock ~ White Daisy, Ruby, Goldfish and Black to make the fox and heart.  I did cut a second heart which does not have the oval for the back piece. The bow was cut from some scraps of paper I had.  Isn’t this just so adorable??? Sorry I think it is stinking cute and I hope his teachers will think it is cute too.  Stay tuned for a couple more EOS as I designed one for each of my boys and will post in a couple of days.

Happy Crafting!

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~9

Welcome back to my Countdown to the new Spring/Summer Idea Book.  Today I am featuring the snip-it of the fundamentals  paper pack Z1939. This is an awesome paper pack which features 2 sheets of 10 different papers all shown below.  The colors are wonderful in the basic color pallet, with one side having a glossy resist and the other is white.  For the layout I used the bamboo paper which features hearts.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I wanted to create a valentine layout.  Since I have a boy I wanted to not go over board with the pinks and reds so I used Bamboo as my base.  But what is valentines with out Blush, Hollyhock and Ruby?  I will be offering a limited number of this layout as a kit for $12, so be sure to let me know if you are interested.

Hugs & Kisses Layout

The heart pattern paper is a mask using an overlay I cut using my Silhouette and using the Ruby reinker mixed with water in my spray pen Z1380.  The hearts and title are also cut using my Silhouette.  I found the You are Foxy cut file on the Spring Holiday Card Cricut cartridge which they were allowing you to use through the Cricut Craft Room last week for free.

Here is a close up of the detail. You can see the Bamboo fundamental paper, isn’t it awesome?  I also use the Ruby Chevron ribbon Z1846 and Red Shimmer Trim Z1848.  I used the scalloped boarder punch Z1851 to give it the scallop look.

January 2013 - Valentine's day 2 - Version 2

For this card I took a piece of cream cardstock 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″.  I then scored it at 2 1/8″  from each end.  I used my 2″ scallop punch to create the window in the card.  I stamped one of the rose images so it would show through the window.  I used my Copic markers to color in the rose.  I used blush ink on a dauber to accent the scalloped edge.  Using my Silhouette I created a  2 1/4 ” circle and did an off set on the inside about 1/8″ so it would result in a ring which was cut on slate card stock.   For the bottom strip I used the new Slate Polka-Dot Washi Tape (Z1817) which is one of the new items from the Spring/Summer Idea book.  I also used blush card stock 1″ by 4 1/4″ and random stamped the small rose stamp with Slate ink.  I cut the 3″ by .8″ oval using my Silhouette on colonial white card stock and stamped the “happy valentine’s day” in Slate ink.  I inked the oval edge in blush and attached it only tho the left side of the card.
