Technique Blog Hop ~ Terrific Treats

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on fun treats.   With Valentines just around the corner I thought I would make a few Valentine treat holders. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from HALEY DYER’S Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

I actually made two different styles. The first on I am going to show you is a Double Ghirardelli Treat Holder that I found on Pinterest by the Robin Griffin.

I used the Oh My Heart papers to make these. I also used the cute sweet hearts from the I Chews You stamp set along with the Stitched Heart Thin Cuts. I used the white ribbon at the top and the Soft Pink Shimmer Trim at the bottom of the left one.

To make this adorable envelope you will need a 6 inch square of patten paper. Then fold along the diagonal. Then you will score at 1/2 inch along the long folded edge of the triangle (Step 1). Then you will rotate your folded triangle and score at 2 3/4 inches. Flip and score again on the other side at 2 3/4 inches (Step 2). Then open up and fold along the 2 3/4 scores folding into the center (Step 3). Then you will create a “W” with the 1/2 inch scores (Step 4). I used some adhesive to attach the tops together and then punched a hole for the ribbon.

The second treat holders are these cute mailboxes. I found them on Pinterest by Helen Griffin.

I used the Oh My Heart Papers, with Glacier, Candy Apple, Ballerina, and Daisy White cardstock. I used the Oh My Heart stamp set to make the flags with the Stitched Heart Thin Cuts.

Then papers you will need is the Base to make the box in 4 1/8″ x 5 5/8″ . The base will make a box by following the steps below. Score the 1 3/8″ and 4 1/4″ along the long side (Step 1). Then score at 1 3/8″ and 2 3/4″ along shorter side (Step 2). The you will want to cut at an angle the scores which are perpendicular to the long side (Step3). This will help to make the box fold neater. Once you have done this to all four sides and trimmed the end it will look like the image in Step 4.

The patterned paper will need to be 6″ x 2 7/8″. you will score along the long side at 3/4″ and 5 1/4″. This will be attached to a bottom piece which is 1 1/2″ X 2 7/8″

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MISS. CARRIE’S CREATIONS BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!
