Color Dare #151 ~ Seaside

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #151 we are featuring the colors from Seaside ~ GLACIER, LAGOON, PEAR, HOLLYHOCK, SORBET, DESERT SANDS and Colonial White.

I just got back from a beach vacation so I thought it would be great to go ahead and design a scrapbook layout from this trip.  I also had been doing a little bit of organization in preparation for my trip to Anaheim and the 2015 Close to My Heart convention.  There I will have a sneak peak at all the new product which will be released September 1st.   Anyway, in my cleaning I discovered I have several SVG files that I forgot I owned so I got them in my Silhouette and printed photos to remind myself to used them.  One of the ones I found was this Tropical Paradise.

Color Dare #151 ~ Seaside ~ Tropical Paradise ~ Vacation layout ~ catscrapbooking.comI love the hibiscus flower and the island was covered with them so it was the perfect accent.  I also added the stitching by using a ruler and my white gel pen.  Here is a close up.

Roxybonds Team Blog Hop – Surf’s Up

Roxybonds Scrappers

This month we are featuring paper from the Surf’s UP.

If you have come from Stephanie’s Blog than you are in the right place.

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, we are gearing up to go to Florida next month.  So I know we will have a lot of beach photos.   Now all I have to do when we return is print the photos and my layout is complete. I you want to check out my other two page layout using the Surf’s up paper pack you can see it here.

Surf's Up - having some fun- layoutFor this layout I used Crystal Blue cardstock for my base.  I then cut out waves, using my Silhouette, as a mask and  then used my spay pen with daisy white ink to crate the waves.  I used the Surf”s Up WOTG, Tropical Paradise and My Sunshine stamp sets.  I did do quite a bit of fussy cutting for this layout but the effect made it worth while.

Now hop on over to Amber’s Blog to see her wonderful creation.

Stampers with Attitude – Fun in the Sun

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!

This is an amazing group of talented women who will WOW you with their talents.  This month we are featuring artwork that represents “fun in the sun!”  If you are joining me from Beth’s blog, you are on the right path.   The Stampers with an Attitude are excited to show you a little Art with an Attitude, so here we go.

I am so excited that summer is here!  But what I am even more excited about is the fact that we are going to the beach next month. When someone says the beach I always think of white sand and hot summer days.  I grew up in the south so going to Florida – Pensacola or Destin was basically an annual event. Now that we live in the pacific northwest there are beaches but it is not the same as the Gulf Coast. So needless to say I am super excited about getting to go to Florida next month.   Since I know we will have tons of photos I will need to scrapbook, I was excited to get some layouts started.

Here is one I created:

Surf's Up - soak up the sun-layout 2

For this layout I was inspired by all the layouts I have seen using banners. I used the Surf’s Up Paper pack with Crystal Blue and Lagoon cardstock. I used all of the B&T paper to make some the banners along with cardstock.   For majority of the cardstock I used the corresponding ink pad and the Tropical Paradise and the Surf’s Up WOTG stamp sets to create a pattern paper by random stamping.  I used my Silhouette to cut the title.  Now all I need to do it add the photos.

Now hop on over to Jen’s blog to check out her wonderful creations!
