Connect the Dots

Here is a great video which has a couple great tips in it.  The first is how to handle those tiny sparkle embellishments by using your paper piercing tool.  The second is an idea to use up all those partial embellishments you have laying around.  Check it out…

Double Pocket Card

Here is another really cool card technique. This is called a double pocket card.  I designed this one using Close To My Heart’s Whoo’s Your Valentines stamp set.  I used several of the stamps from the set to random stamp the base using blush, hollyhock and ruby.

Whoo's your Valenitne 5 - Version 2

You start with an 8 1/2″ by 11″ base. Score the 8 1/2″ side at 4 1/4″ and the 11″ side at 5 1/2″.  On the left side cut the score line to the middle.  Fold the top left corner down about 1 1/2″ from the score line. This top piece will then get folder to the right.  The bottom right corner is folded to the score line.

Then fold the lower left side over to the right and fold to the score line as shown.

The last step is to fold the lower half up to top half as shown.  Glue along seems only so that you have two pockets.

I really like this card style as it was so easy and there are so many possibilities.

Embossed Resist Technique

Check out this really cool technique!  I could not wait to try it.  So I designed one of the Birthday workshop cards useing this technique.

For my card I used my Silhouette to cut out the card base in creme brûlée.  I also used the Silhouette to cut the circle and leaves for the card. I then used the “It’s your day” stamp set to emboss the 3/4 inch colonial white strip with clear embossing powder.  I then took a dauber and applied ink to the strip.  In this design I used one of the retired inks, garden green.   I also used some CTMH creme brulee flowers with white brads in the center. The sentiment is one of the new stamp sets from the new catalog which goes live February 1st, the stamp set is from the Chantilly card workshop on the go.

New Alcohol Markers

Have you heard the wonderful news?  CTMH has come out with their own alcohol based markers.  They come in sets of two with one being the primary CTMH color and the other will be lighter or darker.  They blend beautifully and you can create all kinds of wonderful creations.  Check out this short video which shows how they work.
