Color Dare #458 ~ Love of Color

Welcome to Friday and another Color Dare Challenge! For Color Dare Challenge #458 we are partnering with Double Trouble Challenge #91.

I choose to go with Sundance Cinnamon, Peacock, Glacier with Black and White for the Color Dare part of the challenge. We also are partnering with Double Trouble for challenge #91. So I added a plaid backgound

I used Cinnamon for the base and then created my plaid using a Taylor Expressions Stencil using Peacock, Sundance, and Cinnamon. I cut the pumpkin using my Cricut (a sneak peek). I use the Stitched Fancy Bracket Thin Cuts to cut the Glacier cardstock. The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps, Bitty Buzz Words. I had to add a few Gold Glitter Gems for some bling.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #458 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. Heart 2 Heart ~ Vacation/Staycation

Welcome to another week at Heart 2 Heart and our second challenge of the month!

This weeks challenge is Vacation/Staycation. So pull out those photos and design a layout of a past or more recent vacation. Or maybe you want to remember your staycations. Whatever you choose be sure to include at least one Close to My Heart product in your project.

I decided to design a layout from our get-a-way this past month. We took a trip over to Crested Butte, Colorado. It was amazing!! I knew the Wander Papers would be perfect for this trip. I have not had a chance to print the photos but now it will be so easy just to pop them into this completed layout.

I used Sundance and Sapphire Shimmer Brushes to add splatters to the base page. I incorporated the Wander Die Cuts and stickers to decorate the page. I used my Cricut to cut the title. I used the Wander Cardmaking stamp and thin cut to cut the mountains.

I also used the Wander Scrapbooking stamp set and thin cuts. I then pulled a couple wooden arrows and colored them with my Black Shimmer Brush.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. Did you know you can link your projects from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, and many other platforms using the url link to your design. You have until AUGUST 31th, 2021 to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Hop – “Anything Goes”

Welcome to the Technique Hop!!

This month we are featuring Anything Goes! So it is up to the Maker to pick the technique they wish to showcase. If you are coming from Melissa Robinson’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 12 makers participating in this hop.

I decided to showcase Distressed Oxide Inks with the Jawsome Birthday stamp and thin cuts.

I used my Distressed Oxide inks on both cards to create unique backgrounds.

For this card I used Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, plus two from my stash Speckled Egg and Salty Ocean. I used a Wave stencil to create the water. I started with the Speckled Egg at the top. Then added Salty Ocean, followed by Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. After layering the colors I spritzed the paper with water to initiate the oxide look. Then using the Stitched Rectangle frame to cut the paper. I then made a hole in the paper to make a spot for the shark to poke our. I inked the edges of the torn papers with the corresponding inks. I added a couple of the green sequins from the Crafty Loose Sequins.

Here is the inside of the card.

I am embarrassed to say I have not played with our Bitty Beads until now but they are awesome. I used my Distressed Oxide inks to create the base of the shaker. I colored the sharks with my Tri-blend Markers. I used the rock-n-roll technique on the sentiment. I used the Waterfall Stickles to add a bit glitter, although one of the dots got smudged 🙁

Here is the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Darlys Recker’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

I have a couple of projects for you today with this fun stamp set.

This week we had the CTMH Virtual Conference and it was amazing! I was inspired by some of the presenters who used oxide inks on our Foil Pattern Papers. I decided to give it a try with our Silver Foil Papers. I used the Seedless Preserves Oxide ink for the background. I love how it turned out!! I then used the Stitched Scallop Bracket Thin Cut for the sentiment. I used the Wood Hearts and colored them with my Black Shimmer Brush. For the larger heart I backed it with Lilac cardstock and added a bit of Silver Embellishing Thread. I used my markers to color the grapes.

I had this idea while making the first card to actually make a bunch of grapes using circles. I pulled a retired embossing folder for the background. I used Grape, Lilac, and New England Ivy cardstock for the grape bunch. I used the 1″ circle Thin Cut.

I used the Isabelle papers to make this Summer layout. I did not have time to get the photo printed but it will be of my son selling lemonade. I used the Isabelle Cricut Collection to cut the lemons. I decided to change the watermelon shape in the Summer with a lemon. I added a few white sequins from the Silver Sequins and the yellow flowers from the Springtime Flowers.

Here is a close up of some of those details. I did add Lemonade Shimmer Brush to the lemons and a few splatters.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of AUGUST. If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! Color Dare #454 ~ Photo Inspiration

Welcome to Friday and another Color Dare Challenge! For Color Dare Challenge #454 we have a fun one for you. We have a photo inspiration for this weeks challenge, simply choose at least three colors from the photo plus Black and White are free.

I choose Purple, Blue and Green and decided to play with my alcohol inks.

I so love the new Butterfly Background Thin Cuts! I used it to cut a piece of yupo paper which I discovered requires a bit more pressure when using your CTMH Die Cutting machine. I ended up using -2 to successfully cut the Yupo paper. I then backed with Black cardstock.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #454 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. On this layout I sanded the edges fo the Toffee and Sapphire cardstocks. Created my own tittle in Cricut Design space using the offset tool. I used the Wander -Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts for details. I added a bit of the Steel Stickles for accents.

On the right page I used the Camera from the Wander Cricut Collection and the Wander-Scrapbooking Stamp and Thin Cuts.

Color Dare #452 ~ Candy Apple, Glacier, & Lemonade

Welcome to Friday!! Friday means we have another Color Dare Challenge for you. This week for Color Dare #452 we have a three color challenge for you ~ Candy Apple, Glacier, and Lemonade. Black and White are Free along with Silver.

I have been busy with summer plans ~ mostly entertaining my son since he is out of school, so I have not found as much time to get into my craft room. I have had these new products from Honey Bee Stamps sitting in my craft room untouched… gasp!!! Well I was determined to use them for this project.

I love this Cone Flower die, but to be honest making the stem and leaves Glacier, and not a shade of green, is sort of hard for me. I am pleased the way it turned out. I used the Stitched Lattice Background Thin Cut for the base. I then created my own stem of the flower by fussy cutting. I used the Stitched Oval Thin Cut for the sentiment. The Sentiment if also from Honey Bee Stamps ~ Fresh Flowers. I added a couple of Silver Glitter Gems for bling.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #452  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. Welcome to Friday!! Fridays mean it is time for another fun challenge from Color Dare! This week we for Challenge #451 have a Crazy 8’s Challenge for you. This means you will choose at least 4 of the 8 blocks shown in the image below. Blacks and White are free.

I decided to go with Sapphire, Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Smoothie, Grey, Embellishments, plus Black and White.

I am totally on the Gnome obsessive list. I am loving our new gnome stamp set ~ Chillin with My Gnomies stamp and thin cuts. I colored my Gnome with my markers that matched Sapphire, Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Smoothie (for the pigment of skin but use my blender pen to subtract color) and Grey. I stamped the star from this stamp set on the hat to add more details. I stamped a few fire works to work with the star background paper which is from a retired Seasonal Mix-in.
