Color Dare #410 ~ Red, White, & Blue

Welcome to another fun week at Color Dare! This week we are focusing on there colors RED, WHITE, and BLUE. You must use these three colors and can add BLACK, GOLD, & SILVER and Neutrals which are free.

I decided to use a lighter blue Glacier with White and Candy Apple.

I used one of the pattern papers from the new Seasonal Mixin papers. I then combined two of our many new shaker products. I used the stars from the Star Shaker Thin cuts with the new Square shaker foam. These square shaker foam coordinates with our existing Stitched Square Thin Cuts. I also use the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. The sentiment is from the Craft With Heart Cardmaking kit that just ended. I used White Pigment Ink and the used White Embossing powder. The balloons were stamped using the Birthday Banners stamp set. I then colored the balloons using the Red and Clear Shimmer brush. I mixed a bit of the Bluebird Shimmer brush with Mint Shimmer brush to get the blue to match the Glacier. The last added element was the Silver Sequins.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #410  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Green Thumb

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week we have a fun challenge ~ Green Thumb. This is open to interpretation it could be plants, flowers, or even just using the color green. Have fun with it and just remember to use at least one Close to My Heart product.

I have been seeing this technique called the Borgello Technique and have been wanting to give it a try. I started with white cardstock and then sponged Sweet Leaf, Green Apple, Fern and New England Ivy inks to create the background. I then cut the paper into 1/2 inch strips then attached them to a second white cardsock. I then ran the two layers through my die cutting machine using the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. I used the Stitched Square Thin Cuts with New England Ivy to make the frame around the koala. I used the A Koala-ty Day Stamp and thin cut. I colored the koala with markers. I did use Black Pigment Ink with Clear Embossing Powder.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until August 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week our theme is Somewhere Over the Rainbow. You can interpret this anyway you wish. The most obvious is to include an actual rainbow or maybe a rainbow of colors, it is totally up to you. Just remember you must include at least one Close to My Heart product in your creation.

I used the Blue Skies stamp set to make this card. I used Sapphire pigment ink for the sentiment and then used clear embossing powder. I used Candy Apple, Nectarine, Lemonade, Green Apple, Bluebird, Wisteria, and Eggplant inks to color the rainbow. I used the Stitched Rectangle Frame Thin Cuts to cut the Carolina base.

I also created a couple other cards using a polygon die from Honey bee Stamps to create these rainbow inspired cards.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Frame to cut the Eggplant and Candy Apple bases. I cut the sentiments three times and then stacked so it added more dimension.

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork using products from the new March-April Idea Book. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from MELINDA EVERITT’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 20 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I decided to use the super cute cookoo clock stamp set called Around the Clock stamp set. I used the coordinating Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts. I used the Love of Color book to help me pick my colors. I started with Sweet Leaf and added Peacock, Saffron, Linen and Mink. I wanted to make this a birthday card and love the sentiment “a little birdie told me” and wanted it’s your birthday. So I used my computer and typed what I wanted then ran some linen cardstock through my printer and cut it to the size I wanted. I added a couple of gold gems.

Here is a quick video to show you the card.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Bluebird

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks challenge is Bluebird. Bluebird is one of the Close to My Heart Colors which is one of my favorites. So for me I decided to focus on that color; however you could also consider using a bluebird in your design. We are excited to see what you may come up with for this challenge. Just remember you must use at least one Close to My Heart product in your submission.

I recently stumbled on this cute stamp set by Picket Fence Studio. I had fun playing with it for this weeks Color Dare Challenge that used two of the other blues in the Close to My Heart pallet ~ Sapphire and Carolina. So I knew I wanted to use it again for the Bluebird Challenge.

For this card I used a fish stencil with Opaque Texture paste which I added a couple of drops of Bluebird re-inker to. I used the Stitched Circle Thin cuts and sponged Bluebird onto it. I used Bluebird ink to watercolor my narwhal. I then pulled a few of the bluebird colored sequins from the Loose Crafty Sequins.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until January 31st to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

This week our theme is CUTTING IT CLOSE ~ This can be fussy cutting, using thin cuts, Cricut cuts, or any other cutting device. I love the new interactive thin cuts that Close to my Heart came out. I wanted to play with these.

For this card I used the Card Front Spinner Card Thin Cut paired with Rainbow Wishes Stamp Set. To create this cute spinner you will use foam tape plus a silver brad. I also fussy cut the clouds. I decided after the fact to add some splatters with my shimmer brushes. I used Sapphire, Red, Clear, and Mint.
