You will be hopping with the same talented Makers who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring Close to My Hearts amazing thin cuts! You will be sure to see some beautiful artwork!

If you are just arriving here from SCRAPPY CHICKS, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 10 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I decided to play with the super cute Backpack Thin Cut. I know this thin cut can be used as just a gift card holder on its own, but I decided to make it an interactive on a card. I used the Seasonal Mix-in Papers with Harbor and Sundance cardstock. I masked the “thanks” from the thanksgiving stamp which is part of the For All Occasions stamp set.

Here is what it looks like with a gift card inside. I used the Gift Card Tabs Thin Cut to make the notches to hold the card.

Happy Friday!! Color Dare is back with another Color Dare Challenge. This week for Color Dare #460 we are challenging you to use your choice of the following colors. These are the colors which just retired this week at Close to My Heart.

I went with Lilac, Blue Belle, Smoothie, and Canary.

I chose to use one of the new Card Stencils that are part of our new core catalog. This one is part of the Card Front Stencil Pack 1. I sponged on the ink and then used a Stitched Rectangle Frame which was cut from Blue Belle. I then used a strip of Velum behind the Thanks die cut from my stash. I added a couple of the new Black Acrylic Brackets.

Color Dare #448 ~ Love of Color

Welcome to another challenge with Color Dare! For Challenge #448 we have our Love of Color challenge. Choose at least three of the colors for your project. Black, White, and Gold are FREE.

I went for all the colors except Charcoal. I love the Hillside Cottage Card Making Workshop, so I decided to recreate one of the cards using these colors.

I love that these patterns can be recreated with other colors and papers. I used a retired Seasonal Mix in for the peach. The sage is from Hillside Cottage papers. I used Dessert Rose to sponge behind the flowers on the White Cardstock.

I will admit this was a challenging stamp set. I had to do some searches on Pinterest for ideas. Then inspiration hit. I am really happy with the cards I created for this hop.

I designed to two cards. I used a circle and a heart as my stencil to stamp in the open space. Here is the circle stencil I created.

I went in to Circut to create this stencil. I then overlaid this cut image to Daisy White Cardstock and then stamped with in the image. I used the same method for the heart too.

WIth this card I used Avocado, Peacock, Toffee, Canary, and Paprika. I cut the fox using my Cricut, it is part of my Cricut subscription. I added a few Bitty Sparkles.

For this card I used Sage, Desert Rose, Blue Belle and Pewter. I did add a couple Blue Bell Glitter Gems.

I think this is one of my favorite stamp of the months. The reason I say this is thank you cards are my second most used card next to birthday cards.

I have been really enjoying making slimline cards and was so excited that Close to My Heart has come out with Slimline Cards and Envelopes. I used the Happiness Lives Here Paper Pack for the patterned paper. I then created my own background for the next layer. I stamped one of the “thanks” using VersaMark Ink and then used Clear Embossing Powder. Then using Tattered Rose Oxide Ink and a bit of Abandoned Coral Oxide Ink to create the background. I then added stickers from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Pack. I added a wooden heart from the Happiness Lives Here Wood Shapes and a couple of the Blue Belle Glitter Gems.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of JANUARY If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! December SOTM Blog Hop – Happiness Never Grows Old

Welcome to the December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

If you are coming here from LAUREN MOORE’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 16 Makers participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

You can’t go wrong with these beautiful flowers. This is what I focused on.

I started designing this card and planned to use the Thanks over the middle but then realized it would cover almost all of the flowers. So I went with a smaller middle utilizing the On Your Birthday Stamp Set. I did use Black Pigment ink and then went over with Clear Embossing Powder. I splatted Wisteria Shimmer Bush and added a bit of Diamond Stickles. I also used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts on the White Daisy Cardstock.

This is the inside fo the card.

So when I realized I needed to spread the flower out, I also realized I would need more. So I did do a bit of masking to add extra flowers and leaves. I used the Thanks Thin Cuts and went over the letters with the Wisteria Shimmer Bush. I did add a little of the Diamond Stickles.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of DECEMBER. If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we have a good one for you.  This weeks challenge is all about the ORANGE! You can use any shade of ORANGE with BLACK, WHITES, ALL NEUTRALS, and METALLICS but that is all!!

I decided to try a technique that Close to My Heart had up on their blog this week.

To create the background I smooshed Spiced Marmalade Oxide ink on my All Purpose Mat. I then took my large watercolor brush and washed the ink onto Distressed Watercolor Paper. I then splattered it with Paprika Shimmer Brush. I used the a couple of thin cuts ~ Leaves Thin cuts and the Thanks Thin Cuts. I used Vellum, Paprika Cardstock and Cooper Ore paper.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #420  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, November 26, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Buzz ~ That’s Bee Talk

I am loving bumble bees and they are so fun when it comes to card making. As I posted the other day I have been playing with some of the newly released product from Honey Bee Stamps. I designed this card using their new Buzz Honey Cuts and stamp.

Here are two card I created. I used a stencil that I made with my Cricut with a Close To My Heart image from Artbooking. I sponged on Canary ink over part of the overlay. I then used the Rectangle Thin Cuts to cut the stitched edge. For the Buzz I layered Black Glitter Cardstock, Canary and Daisy White cardstock. I used the Buzz Honey cut and stamp set for the sentiment. The thanks if from a past SOTM called Card Captions. I also added a couple of Bees from the Bee Hive stamp set and Honey Cuts.

August Stamp of the Month ~ From Me to You

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring August’s stamp of the month ~ FROM ME TO YOU (S1908) a set of 38.

If you are coming here from KATY TAYLOR’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 14 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

I was inspired by a card that was given out at the Consultant Showcase  at our Close to My Heart Convention this past month.  It was made by Kathy Corson. I then saw a flower tutorial that Miss. Carrie Creations did using velum with the Stitched Flowers and decided to try.  Here is my creation.

I love these Stitched Flowers Thin Cuts!! I cut one layer in Sapphire and one layer in Velum.  I then sponged Sapphire ink over the velum.  I cut the petals down towards the center so they would curl and pop up more.  I used the fringe thin cut from the Decorative Border set to make the flower center in Sugarplum.  I curled the fringe using my quilling tool.  I used the True Love Paper Pack for the card. I paired it with the Sugarplum cardstock and glitter paper.  And a card would not be complete without a bit of bling so I added some Sugarplum glitter gems.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of AUGUST and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

I have been having a bit of fun playing with some fancy fold style cards.  I have been playing with one called Joy Fold Card.

For this card I used the Feels Like Home paper pack. To make this card it is actually very simple.  The base, in this card is 8 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches using Fern cardstock.  I then scored it at 5 1/2 inches.  The second piece I used Sugarplum and it is cut to 8 by 3 inches and is scored at 4 inches.

This is what the card looks like when it is open.

For the front I used one of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts for the Thanks.  I used my journaling pen around the edges and used White Embossing Powder.  I used the Mink twine and my Sugarplum Shimmer brush.  I used fern ink to stamp the leaves and used first and second generation ink. I created another Joy Fold card for Heart 2 Heart challenge using this stamp set as well, you can find it HERE.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of April and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
