Color Dare #432 ~ Photo Inspiration

Welcome to another week with Color Dare #432! This week we have an inspirational photo ~ Chihuly. BLACK, WHITE, and NEUTRALS are FREE

I have been wanting to try using alcohol inks after seeing all the artwork that people create using them. So I broke down and purchased some. Then I started watching YouTube videos to learn how to use them. I used a technique where I added ink to a piece of felt then dabbed it onto the yupo paper. I then used Alcohol blending Blending to blur the colors.

I used the one sheet of yupo paper to make these two cards. One is a floating shaker and the other is just on white card base.

This card I used a 4×6 flip flap which I trimmed down to make the shaker. I used the Iridescent Flower Confetti in the shaker. The Yupo paper was cut using one of the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts. The Thank you is a cricut cut.

The thank you was cut using my cricut and I used a few of the Iridescent Flower Confetti for accents. The Yupo paper was cut using one of the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #431  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Technique Blog Hop ~ It’s Faux

Welcome to the It’s Faux Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use striped borders. If you notice in the above photo there are several stamped border images creating a striped pattern. I used some of these and crated my own. If you are coming from BRANDI ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 13 makers participating in this hop.

I designed two cards for you. One using the faux wood tiles of the Letter Tiles Stamp and Thin Cuts. The other is using the wood grain papers.

I used the flower stencil from Stencil Pack 1 with Peacock Feathers Oxide Ink. I then sprayed with two of the Lime Green and Cheddar Gloss Spray. I used the Letter Tiles Stamp and Thin Cuts on Almond Cardstock. I used Toffee and Black Ink. I added a couple of the Wood Hearts which I colored with Mustard Seed Oxide ink.

With this card, I used a technique that Brenda Rose showed to fellow makers to apply ink to the wood grain papers. I used the Seedless preserves on one of the wood grain paper. I used Pewter as the base. The flowers are from the Every Bit of Wonderful stamp set. The flowers and leaves were fussy cut. I used the Scalloped Stitched Bracket Thin Cut for the sentiment. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the On Your Birthday Stamp Set

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto WENDY KESSLER’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

January SOTM Bog Hop ~ Every Thank You

Welcome to the January SOTM Blog Hop!

If you are coming here from MELINDA EVERITT’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 18 Makers participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

I think this is one of my favorite stamp of the months. The reason I say this is thank you cards are my second most used card next to birthday cards.

I have been really enjoying making slimline cards and was so excited that Close to My Heart has come out with Slimline Cards and Envelopes. I used the Happiness Lives Here Paper Pack for the patterned paper. I then created my own background for the next layer. I stamped one of the “thanks” using VersaMark Ink and then used Clear Embossing Powder. Then using Tattered Rose Oxide Ink and a bit of Abandoned Coral Oxide Ink to create the background. I then added stickers from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Pack. I added a wooden heart from the Happiness Lives Here Wood Shapes and a couple of the Blue Belle Glitter Gems.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of JANUARY If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! Heart 2 Heart ~ Thankful

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

I can’t believe we are in November!! This month we reflect on what we are thankful for, so this is a great challenge for this month. We hope you will play along and join us. Just remember if you play you must use at least one Close to My Heart product.

Every year around my mom asks me to make her cards or tags that she can use for her gifts to her clients. I designed these four as potentials. This one uses the new Serenity Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Blue Belle cardstock and Blue Belle Sequins. I used Blue Belle, Sapphire and Sundance inks. I did cut a second layer of the wreath in Sapphire Cardstock.

Here is another version with the same Serenity Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Blue Belle cardstock and Blue Belle Sequins. This time I used New England Ivy with Sundance. The bow I stamped with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder.

For this one I used the Flower stencil with Oxide Inks ~ Mowed Lawn, Candied Apple, and Mustard Seeed to create this card. I used the Stitched Scalloped Brackets Thin Cuts. I used a bit of Gold Stickle glue.

The last one I created my own background using Oxide inks. I then used the thin cut leaves from last year to cut the legs. I also used the wood grain embossing folder which has been retired. I used Cinnamon, Desert Rose, Sundance, and Black Ore papers.

She actually did not like any of these… So I am still working on a design.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until November 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Thing 1: Trouble Maker says, “You make me happy when skies are grey, so let’s make someone happy with a Friendship project (i.e. Get Well, Thinking of You, Thank You, etc.). NO Birthday, Holiday or Celebration projects.

I pulled a linen pattern paper from a prior Seasonal Mix In paper pack. I paired it with Pewter, Bluebird, Canary, and silver. I used the Flower from the Happiest Place Digital Art Designs. I added a bit of Silver Embellishing Thread behind the flowers. The sentiment came from the current Craft with Heart Card Subscription.

Love Blossoms Blog Hop

Welcome to the Love Blossoms Blog Hop!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our fabulous special LOVE BLOSSOMS.  While this special shows you how to make 12 fantastic cards, this hop will show you some other ideas. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 14 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

For this hop I designed two cards using the Love Blossoms Stamp set!

Catscrapbooking ~ Close to My Heart ~ ctmh ~ Love Blossoms ~ thank you ~ overlay ~ cards ~flower

I used an overlay on top of Sweet Leaf cardstock. The lattice overlay is from Artbooking Cricut cartrige which you can find HERE. I then cut the rectangular edges to make it softer. I used Thistle cardstock behind the White Daisy stamped sentiment.

catscrapbooking ~ closet to my heart ~ ctmh ~ love blossoms ~ mother's day card This card is the almost the same as one in the workshop.  I made a couple of adjustments. First I changed the color cardstock to Raspberry.  I then colored the flowers instead of leaving them white.  I also modified the sentiment to be a Mother’s Day Card.
