Heart 2 Heart ~ For the Love of Pets

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is right up my ally for so many reasons! First, animals are a big part of my life as I am a retired veterinarian.  Second, crafting with animals is one of my favorite things to use in my projects. So when I saw the Rainbow Bridge Stamp and Thin Cuts I knew this was what I wanted to use for this Challenge.

Love this sentiment as it is a beautiful way to celebrate a pets passing.

I used my Copic markers to color the dog and the rainbow.  I used Glacier cardstock for the sky with the White Daisy.  I stamped the rainbow on White Daisy and then hand cut it.  I used Lemon for the halo and Candy Apple for the hearts.

I know it is hard to see but I did use the Gold Shimmer Brush to go over the halo.  I also used my yellow Copic marker to color the stars.  The stars are from the loose Gold Sequins and I just ran my marker over them to give them a yellow tint.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Everything ABC’s ~ Letter A

Welcome to the 2016 Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!!!  With the start of a New Year is also brings the beginning of the alphabet.ABC's Blog Badge

This week we will be featuring the letter “A”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “A” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from JENNIFER BENNER’S Blog then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants at the bottom of this post.

I decided to feature our AWESOME Cricut Cartridges.  I designed a sympathy card with the ARTISTRY and ART PHILOSOPHY Cartridges.  I also used one of our “A” sized stamp sets Sincere Sympathy. This card is so simple with just a few cuts and you are done.  The butterflies are from the Artistry #M58A2E4 and Art Philosophy #M3F18D.  The floral background is from Artistry#M414540.  The sentiment comes from Sincere Sympathy A1146.ABC's A ~ Sympathy Card ~ Artistry & Art Philosophy ~ CatScrapbooking.com

Now it is time to hop on over to LAUREN MOORE’S Blog and see what she has created for you today.

Here is the full list of participants in case you get lost.

Artistry Cards ~ Can’t Get Enough of this Cartridge!!

Okay I really love this New Cricut Collection by Close to My Heart ~ ARTISTRY!!  This cartridge includes shapes spanning a wide variety of themes, holidays, and seasons to add some visual spice to any project you create. Get back to basics with the unique font, banners, layered shapes, borders, backgrounds, and other fun icons you’ll find on this cartridge. All of the designs are a must for any crafter!  There are two versions available the traditional cartridge and if you own a Explore or Explore Air you can purchase the digital version. Check it out on my website HERE006f01a9-4d7d-4fde-a5dd-7a5bd0cff86d

For me it includes dogs and cats!!! So as a veterinarian and a crafter this really struck a cord with me.  Because prior to 2011 I scrapbooked my life with my husband and my four-legged kids.  So I gravitate to animals and this cartridge delivers for me.  I know there is an unfortunate need for pet sympathy cards as I have been on the receiving end too many times this year and in the past 4 years.   So I wanted to design a few cards that may help others when that time comes to say good bye to their family members.

Artistry ~ Zoe ~ Pet Sympathy ~ catscrapbooking.comFor these card I used the puppies found on page 9 of the new Artistry card.  the heart is found on page 10 and I just hid the contour lines of the paw print.  the banner is from page 21 but I stretched the image increasing the height and leaving the length the same.  I used the Sincere Expressions A1146 for the sentiment.

Artistry Card ~ Sympathy

I am really loving this new Artistry cartridge by Close to My Heart.  What is so awesome is Artistry is available for purchase NOW!!!!  Don’t you want to be one of the first to get your hands on this fabulous cartridge?  If you are interested in hosting a gathering so you can get this cartridge as your 50% off item please let me know so we can get it scheduled.

Sympathy card ~ Artistry ~ Boken ~ catscrapbooking.com

For this card I used my cricut Explore to cut the circle in the card base.  I then used flower found on page 2.  I cut the flowers at 3.32 ” high.  When I pulled the image from Design Space the layers of the flower are linked so I kept them grouped while I sized the flower image then un-grouped them.  To create the Boken background I used Pacifica, Thistle and Sweet Leaf.  The “with sympathy” is from Sincere Expressions stamp set A1146 and used Pacifica to stamp it.  I added the Extra Thick Thistle Twine to the stem and frayed the ends.

Sympathy Cards

It is always unfortunate to say you need to increase your supply of sympathy cards; well that has been the case lately.  I had seen a card designed by Jody Gustafson which I though would be perfect for a sympathy card. Here is my version.

Ariana Sympathy card ~ Catscrapbooking.com

For this card I used the following products:

  • Ariana Paper
  • Crystal Blue cardstock
  • Stripe Embossing folder
  • Words of Comfort C1524
  • Black Ink
  • Artbooking Cartridge for the bows cut at one inch and 3/4 inch
  • Art Philosophy Cartridge for the butterflies
  • Buttons fro my stash
