I know it is not Thanksgiving yet, but I am getting excited for the holidays. I have been able to create a few things so far this year. I hope this trend continues and I will share them with you as I go.
I have always loved glass blocks, it probably stems from my love of Architecture and Interior Design. Did you know my undergraduate degree is in Interior Design? Well now you do. I have to admit I have not worked in this field for close to twenty years but it was my degree. Anyway back to glass blocks…. I have been seeing all the ones people have put lights into and used vinyl on them to make great home decor items. Well this past weekend I was able to go to a Craft Warehouse for the first time. I loved it as there were so many great craft items on display of what you could make. One of the things they had were glass blocks which has a plastic bottom which would allow you to fill the inside ~ ingenious!!! Here is my creation:
I the glass block would work perfectly as a snowman. I designed my own face and cut it on vinyl using my Silhouette. I saw an adorable felt hat there but it was too small so I made my own. I found a how to on the web and modified the directions so mine would be a little smaller.
I also had just seen the CTMH video Craft your Curls which I posted last week about using fabric to create flowers. I told you I would post something I designed soon and check out my cool flower using the Sparkle and Shine textiles. I only used two layers to create my flower as the video shows three.
Happy Crafting!
