Love of Color – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are around 14 of us highlighting using our LOVE OF COLOR Idea Book.  You are sure to see some cool ideas of how to used this awesome book. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from DARLYS RECKER’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I love this book because when you are wanting to create you can pick any color and then you can find wonderful color palettes there for you.  I chose the color Glacier, and looked up Glacier in the Love of Color Idea Book.

I chose this color palette….

Here is my creation….

I used the Glacier pattern paper from the Seasonal Mix In Paper Pack as the background. I used the Winter Flurries Thin Cuts and cut using Heather and Glacier.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Christmas Countdown and used Peacock Ink. The swirls are from Falling Flakes stamp set and stamped int Heather. I added a some shimmer to the Glacier snow flake using my  Clear Shimmer Brush.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto VALERIE KAPSHA’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the SHAKER CARDS!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Welcome to this weeks Color Dare Challenge! We are featuring a two challenges thin month one with Soft Pastels for your holiday creations.  Please join us by using soft and pastel colors to design your creations.

I was inspired by a beautiful card designed by Krista Hershberger as she used Sugarplum and Snowflakes.

I used Sugarplum cardstock, Ink, and Glitter paper. I cut the snowflakes with Winter Flurries Thin Cuts and the Sugarplum Glitter Paper.  I then used the Holiday Borders Stamp Set and stamped snowflakes with Sugarplum ink. I added a few of the Sugarplum Glitter Gems.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors. Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #323 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday December 30, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations!!!

I decided to play around with the LOVE WITH ALL THE TRIMMING stamp set as I think this stamp set is super awesome!  Not only can you use it with the Holiday Sparkle shaker cards you can also use it to create your own cards.

For my first card I decided to use my Silver embossing powder to add a sentiment in the shaker window.I also used the Silver embossing powder with the snowflakes for the LOVE WITH ALL THE TRIMMING stamp set.  I then pulled some of the stars out of my Loose Silver Sequins to add a bit more bling to my card.

I then decided to create my own card using the LOVE WITH ALL THE TRIMMING stamp set.

For this card I used the new Snowflake thin cuts.  I arranged them on my Sapphire cardstock.  I then pieced the loose pieces of the snowflake to my card so that I was actually using the negative space instead of the cut snowflakes.  I then use the new Silver Embellishing Thread with the Silver Glitter paper.  I added a couple of the white Loose Silver Sequins to my card to look like snow.

HoHoHo Glass Block

I am definitely getting into the holiday spirit a little early.  I decided to design a fun holiday glass block.  HoHoHo Glass Block ~ Holiday Glass Block ~Artiste ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe HoHoHo is from the Artiste cartridge.  I did a bit of slicing in order to make the middle “Ho” its own cut.  This way I could make it two tone.  The snowflakes are from Artistry.  I added the fake snow and a mini strand of lights.  I am really pleased the way this turned out.
