Heart 2 Heart ~ Slimline

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This is our second challenge for the month of January. This challenge is about Slimline Cards. I have to be honest in that I never have liked the slimline look until about 4 months ago and then a switch flipped. I now love them. Please join us in this challenge and creating your own slimline card, just remember you must include at least ONE Close to My Heart product in your entry.

I used the new Slimline base card which comes with a envelope (so no need to make like I have been doing). The first step was to stamp the snowflakes in White Pigment ink and then use White Embossing Powder. I used Peacock Feathers Oxide ink to create the background. I then cut the Fancy Stitched Borders Thin Cuts using Daisy White cardstock. I then lightly penciled where they were going. I then curved the tree stamp border from the Month of the Year ~ January stamp set along those penciled lines. I stamped in Black Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The Snow Days sentiment was stamped in Sapphire Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

I wanted to add a bit more dimension to my card so I used my Clear Shimmer brush to add splatters to the background. I also added a bit of Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue. To create the snow I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until January 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Blissful Brackets Blog Hop

Welcome to the Blissful Brackets Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use Brackets. If you are coming from TAMARA SANDWISCH’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 11 makers participating in this hop.

For my card I played with the Stitched Fancy Brackets Thin Cuts. I actually used the negative on the white cardstock. I also used the Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts on that Daisy White Cardstock. I then splattered it with the Blue Belle Shimmer Brush. I then paired it with Blue Belle Cardstock that I stamped with White Pigment Ink and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I used the Elegant Snowflake Stamp and Thin Cuts along with some Snowflake Thin Cuts (retired) in Blue Belle Glitter paper. I did add a couple Blue Belle Glitter Gems to the center of some of the snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Snowhaven Fun

With the holidays over, I am finally feeling like I am getting back into crafting.  I think I have finally settled in to a routine now that we are settled and I have been able to compensating for Gavin giving up his naps (my craft time).  It has taken a while to figure out how and when I can craft.  Lets just say I have started off with a very productive bang and it feels fabulous.

I have been loving Snowhaven paper pack and could not wait to create a layout using it.  I designed this layout and will be able to show you the layout and then with photos.  If you are interested in this layout as a kit feel free to contact me and I will work up the cost for you.

Snow haven Layout ~ Catscrapbooking.com

I have tons of snow photos which I need to scrapbook so this paper pack is perfect.  It can be used for other layouts but I really wanted to do a snow theme layout.

Snow haven Layout ~ catscrapbooking.comI added some additional texture to the final layout with Stickles.  It is hard to see from this photo but I did add some Clear Stickles to several of the snowflakes to make them pop a bit more.

Item used for these layouts:

  • Paper Pack ~ Snowhaven X7188B
  • Complements ~ Snowhaven X7188C
  • Bling ~ Clear Sparkle Assortment Z1752, Pink Glitter Gems Z1807
  • Shimmer Trim ~ White Z3024
  • Journaling pen

I can’t wait to plan my next project with Snowhaven…. Until then, happy crafting!
