Winter Penguins Birthday Slimline

I decided to start challenging myself and looking at some of the other challenges that are out there. I stumbled on My Favorite Things ~ Slimline Challenge. This month Slimline Challenge is Birthday Wishes.

I used my Cricut to cut the scalloped border with Flamingo and Ballerina. I then played with the Winter Penguins Stamp set and thin cuts. I used the Party Time Papers for the base. The Happy Birthday is from Birthday Borders Stamp and Thin Cut. I used White Pigment and embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Thank you for stopping by!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Slimline

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This is our second challenge for the month of January. This challenge is about Slimline Cards. I have to be honest in that I never have liked the slimline look until about 4 months ago and then a switch flipped. I now love them. Please join us in this challenge and creating your own slimline card, just remember you must include at least ONE Close to My Heart product in your entry.

I used the new Slimline base card which comes with a envelope (so no need to make like I have been doing). The first step was to stamp the snowflakes in White Pigment ink and then use White Embossing Powder. I used Peacock Feathers Oxide ink to create the background. I then cut the Fancy Stitched Borders Thin Cuts using Daisy White cardstock. I then lightly penciled where they were going. I then curved the tree stamp border from the Month of the Year ~ January stamp set along those penciled lines. I stamped in Black Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The Snow Days sentiment was stamped in Sapphire Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

I wanted to add a bit more dimension to my card so I used my Clear Shimmer brush to add splatters to the background. I also added a bit of Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue. To create the snow I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until January 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Tall & Skinny Paw-ty Dogs

I saw where Double Trouble was having a challenge combining Tall and Skinny or Slimline cards with things with tails so I knew I wanted to play.
Thing 1: Trouble Maker
says, “I’m going to tell you a Tall Tale… but don’t let that scare you. Create a Tall and Skinny card for any occasion.”

You can stop here…
OR you can choose to include Twisted Sister’s Optional Twist below.

Thing 3: Twisted Sister
says, “I received word that we have to deliver a Tall Tail. How’s that possible? I don’t have a tail and neither do our Sneetches… Help! Create a project using a Thing with a Tail.”

This is an OPTIONAL TWIST but you will be awarded an additional chance in Double Trouble’s random draw if you include this twist in your project.

BUT don’t stop here… Thing 2: Double Dare:  says, “Since we do not have a scheduled partner for this challenge, you can still earn extra points for our random draw. Just use any of our previous partners with your Tall and Skinny card – with or without the twist.

I have been loving creating these slimline cards so I knew this would be fun!

I had this film strip cut a previous project so I decided to use it. I then paired it with the Let’s Paw-Ty stamp set. I colored in some fo the dogs using my Triblend Markers.

I am also going to pair this up with Crafter’s Cafe which has an anything goes Challenge. This is my first time joining them.

Color Dare #413 ~ Bloom with Grace Tic-Tac-Toe

This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #413 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe board this time it is focused around the Bloom with Grace paper collection.  For this challenge you can use any diagonal, row or column, you can add in any of the other colors shown.  Blacks & Whites are FREE.

I used the middle row and column and added Fern and Toffee.

I am becoming a bit addicted to making slimline cards. Here is one I crated using the pretty sunflower paper from the Bloom with Grace papers. The fern patten paper is also from this collection. I used the new Bloom with Grace Cricut collection to cut the sunflowers. I then added a couple of the wood Bloom with Grace shapes which I colored by using the Toffee Shimmer Brush. The thankful sentiment is from the Woodland Friends Stamp and Thin Cuts. I added a couple of Gold Glitter Gems for a bit of bling.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #413  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, October 7, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Technique Hop – “Peek-a-boo!”

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use with windows or hidden objects. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 10 makers participating in this hop.

I love shakers so of course I would choose to make a shaker window card for my peek-a-boo.

So I recently decided to make a slimline card and now I am sort of hooked. This card I used the new Square Foam Shaker windows with the Stitched Square Thin Cuts. I used the smallest square and made three mini shakers.

Spider Shaker window
Pumpkin Shaker Window
Ghost Shaker Window

The paper used is the Got Candy? papers. The sentiment and bat came from the Spooky Gnome stamp set.

Here is the inside. I used both the Got Candy? Stamp set and the Spooky Gnome stamp set.

I also couldn’t stop with just one shaker card …. Here is one more for you.

For this card I used the Star Shaker Window Thin Cuts with the Star Shaker Window Foam. I used Got Candy? papers with both of the cards. The sentiment is from the Got Candy? Stamp set. I used the Got Candy? Sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MAZ WOOD’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!
