If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

So I may have gone a bit overboard. I decided to make birthday cards using the PML Cards. I started with just making five and then just kept going. I ended up making 13 and only have 6 of the PML cards from the pack remaining.

For this card I created a background using my Oxide inks and then cut down the Birthday PML card.

These two I created based on patterns 2 & 17 in the Make It from your Heart Volume 4 book. I added some of the In This Together Dots and a Yellow Acrylic Stars.

By trimming off the sentimentI and repositioning it I was able to make it an A4 card size.

For these two I actually used two PML cards. I cut the medium Stitched Rectangle to frame the smaller PML card and paired it with coordinating cardstock. I added a Pink Acrylic Heart and a Yellow Acrylic star. The sentiment on the right is from the Birthday Banners Stamp and Thin Cuts.

The one on the right I hand cut balloons. I added a bit of Liquid glass to all of the ballons. The sentiments are from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

For these two I used some fo the same elements as above, just in a landscape card.

The card on the right uses two PML cards and I used the Raspberry Shimmer brush to go over the sentiment. The card on the left uses the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Wood Shapes. I used Chipped Sapphire Oxide ink to color and then went over with my Sapphire Shimmer Brush.

Your next stop is along this hop is DARLYS RECKER’S Blog  so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Boys Cards ~ Part 2

As I promised earlier this week here are two more boy themed cards I designed.  I really love using the Picture My Life cards to create cards.  It cuts down on the design time as you already have a great colorful 3×4 or 4×6 card and all you need to do is add a base and possibly some bling.

Boy's cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card I used the Stripe Embossing folder Z 1960 on Outdoor Denim.  I backed the 3×4 Later Sk8r PML card Z1945 with Ruby. Then to add a little extra I used White Enamel Stars Z2010.  How simple is that??

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comSo for this card I used a Later Sk8r 3×4 PML card and backed it with White Daisy cardstock  I then had a little extra Honeycomb Embossed Outdoor Denim from the first cards I made so I used that to break up the stripes from the Pear Fundamental paper. For the bling I used the Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles Z1806.

Now I my next task in the near future it to design some boy and girl birthday cards.  I hope to get to those in the next week or so.

Boy Cards ~ part 1

I always feel I am running short on boy theme cards.  I really needed to sit down and crate a few as I have some cousins and nephews who I like to send cards to during the summer and while they are at camp.   I decided I would make my life easy and use the Picture My Life cards from Later Sk8r.  These worked perfectly and it to so little effort to design.  Here are the first two:

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.com

For this one I used the Adventure Fundamental Paper Pack for the base color and then used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with Outdoor Denim.  I matted the PML card on some White Daisy cardstock.  To add a little something extra I added three green epoxy bubbles. Boy Cards 3 ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card, I used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with the Outdoor Denim, then took a sanding block and ran it over the top of the embossed cardstock.  I used the new Hello Summer  C1595 stamp set which I inked in Outdoor Denim on Ruby cardstock.  I also used Lagoon and Whisper cardstock.  To add a little more texture I used the Aqua dots and a bit of Liquid Glass on the white circles in the cup to look like moisture.

These cards came together so quickly and they look so fun.  I will share two more with you this week.

Christmas Cards using Picture My Life

I mentioned in a prior post that I decided to make all my Christmas cards.  Yes, I realize this is a large undertaking particularly since it means about 100 cards (this includes my husbands work cards too).   I had great intentions to start these earlier but you know how that goes with a three year old who gave up naps.  I wanted to make a variety of cards and I did use the wonderful Cut Above to help make a dent in the number of cards, but I still had quite a few more to make.  So I decided I would use the Picture My Life card particularly the Pear and Partridge and turn them into cards.   Now with the new option of ordering the PML cards A La Carte it make it even easier; you get 44 – 4″ × 6″ Cards (2 each of 22 designs) and 78 – 3″ × 4″ Cards (3 each of 26 designs) so you could make a ton of cards for only $14.95.

What makes using the PML cards so fabulous is most of the work is done for you, all I did was add some bling for the most part.  Check out the 18 cards I created (there are two of each design).

PML Holiday Cards ~ Pear & Partridge ~ catscrapbooking

Don’t you just love them and they were seriously so simple!  Cardstock, sequins, clear sparkles, pink glitter gems, bakers twine, shimmer trim, glitter paper and Bling Gems is all it took.  I highly recommend giving these a try as you will be amazed on how easily they come together.  You can check out all the PML kits right HERE.

Color Dare #122 ~ PML Card

Welcome to this weeks Color Challenge!  This week we are featuring Sorbet, Cranberry, Olive and New England Ivy for Color Dare #122.

Color Dare #122Well this year I decided I would make all of our Christmas Cards, which works out to be about 100 between our personal and my husbands work.  Well of course time gets away from you really fast and here I am 11 days into December and I have not finished making my cards.  I have done over half but I still have about 40 more to go.  Well I had seen some really wonderful cards designed with Picture My Life cards.  The few I have done really took no time and turned out super cute.  So I decided this may be my solution and to top it off the Pear and Partridge PML cards feature this weeks color dare colors!!!  I finally found a few free minutes today (I had to put on a movie for my son) I went down to my craft room and literally whipped this together.  I can not believe how quickly it came together and I love the way it turned out.
