This month we are featuring Picture My Life cards (PML cards)!  PML cards are great for pocket scrapbooking, traditional scrapbooking and for making card.   If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from DARLYS RECKER’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

I decided to works with the awesome new Watercolor PML cards.  These are great as they just look like a white card but they have a pattern or word that is on the card in a resist.  So when you apply watercolor you will be able to highlight the resisted part. Hear is the card I made with one of them.

La Vie En Rose ~ PML Overlay ~ Puffies ~ Catscrapbooking.comI actually enjoyed working with the PML Overlays from our last blog hop that I wanted to create another.  So I used the Black PML Overlays.  This time I wanted to highlight the LOVE so I used the heart embossing folder with the circle difuser.  I then used my sanding block to make the embossed hearts stand out. Here is the inside of the card:

Boys Cards ~ Part 2

As I promised earlier this week here are two more boy themed cards I designed.  I really love using the Picture My Life cards to create cards.  It cuts down on the design time as you already have a great colorful 3×4 or 4×6 card and all you need to do is add a base and possibly some bling.

Boy's cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card I used the Stripe Embossing folder Z 1960 on Outdoor Denim.  I backed the 3×4 Later Sk8r PML card Z1945 with Ruby. Then to add a little extra I used White Enamel Stars Z2010.  How simple is that??

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comSo for this card I used a Later Sk8r 3×4 PML card and backed it with White Daisy cardstock  I then had a little extra Honeycomb Embossed Outdoor Denim from the first cards I made so I used that to break up the stripes from the Pear Fundamental paper. For the bling I used the Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles Z1806.

Now I my next task in the near future it to design some boy and girl birthday cards.  I hope to get to those in the next week or so.

Boy Cards ~ part 1

I always feel I am running short on boy theme cards.  I really needed to sit down and crate a few as I have some cousins and nephews who I like to send cards to during the summer and while they are at camp.   I decided I would make my life easy and use the Picture My Life cards from Later Sk8r.  These worked perfectly and it to so little effort to design.  Here are the first two:

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.com

For this one I used the Adventure Fundamental Paper Pack for the base color and then used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with Outdoor Denim.  I matted the PML card on some White Daisy cardstock.  To add a little something extra I added three green epoxy bubbles. Boy Cards 3 ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card, I used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with the Outdoor Denim, then took a sanding block and ran it over the top of the embossed cardstock.  I used the new Hello Summer  C1595 stamp set which I inked in Outdoor Denim on Ruby cardstock.  I also used Lagoon and Whisper cardstock.  To add a little more texture I used the Aqua dots and a bit of Liquid Glass on the white circles in the cup to look like moisture.

These cards came together so quickly and they look so fun.  I will share two more with you this week.

Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop ~ Picture My Life

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!! The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss. This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing art work featuring Picture My Life (PML). Just in case you are not familiar with Picture My Life, it is a scrapbooking program, meant for quick and beautiful memory-keeping. This program comes in many themes, all based on the gorgeous designs of some of our most popular paper packets. You can also find for a limited time some of the new seasonal inspirations paper packs.

If you are just hopping here from DENISE ELLIOTT’S Blog then you are in the right spot. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating consultant at the end of my blog.

I chose SEASIDE as my PML to work with of my project. I have also been wanting to try to design a mini album using the new My Creations Mini Kraft Album. The My Creations Mini Albums work perfectly with the PML cards as it has 10 mini page protectors which hold either one 4×6 or two 3×4 PML cards or photos. This year my husband and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and are taking our first vacation away from our son. I am scared and excited all at the same time. We are going to a beach resort so I figured this would be perfect to preserve our vacation. I just love getting away to waterfront locations, so much so that I’m seriously considering moving to somewhere like this for rent house barrie north.

Seaside ~ My Creations Mini Kraft Album ~ Cover ~ catscrapbooking.comOn the cover I used two Seaside PML card which are backed in Glacier and Desert Sand. I also used my Artbooking Cartridge for the waves using Lagoon and Glacier. The waves are featured on page ?? of the Artbooking Cartridge booklet. I have to admit I was elated when my preview items from the Seasonal Expressions 2 arrived yesterday. As I was struggling what to do with the cover since I knew I needed a ribbon or twine which would work with the colors on my cover and nothing in my stash quite worked. So I am offering up a sneak-peek at the NEW GLACIER EXTRA THICK TWINE Z3039 (which will be available April 1st 2015 in the Seasonal Expressions Two)

I colored the White Enamel Stars to coordinate better. The stars on the right I used the Pastel Peach marker which gave them an off white color to match the Colonial White cardstock. These are just a few more photos of my album. As you can see I enhanced the PML cards with numerous embellishments. I added photo mats and doodled around the edges. So now once I come home from our trip all I have to do is add the journaling and photos and I have a fabulous souvenir from our trip.

More PML Christmas Cards

Well I did it!!! I finish making all 120 of my Christmas cards and they a in the mail!!  I can now just focus on the baking and cooking!  Since I shared the Picture My Life cards I made using the 4X6 cards already which you can find here.  I thought I would show you some of the ones I used creating the 3X4 cards.

3x4 PML cards ~ Pear & Partridge ~ catscrapbooking.com

It was so fun and easy to make these awesome cards.  I used embossing folders, ribbon, cardstock and embellishments. I has some of the Pear & Partridge paper pack so I was able to incorporate that into the cards.  I also have TONS of ribbon an in my stash I found several which would work with these cards.  Then a little shimmer trim, sequins and gems and presto fun festive holiday cards.

Here is a close up of one of the cards I designed using one of the new embossing folders ~ Scalloped. Plus I used our new white shimmer trim and one of my Shin Han markers and now I have green shimmer trim.

Christmas Cards using Picture My Life

I mentioned in a prior post that I decided to make all my Christmas cards.  Yes, I realize this is a large undertaking particularly since it means about 100 cards (this includes my husbands work cards too).   I had great intentions to start these earlier but you know how that goes with a three year old who gave up naps.  I wanted to make a variety of cards and I did use the wonderful Cut Above to help make a dent in the number of cards, but I still had quite a few more to make.  So I decided I would use the Picture My Life card particularly the Pear and Partridge and turn them into cards.   Now with the new option of ordering the PML cards A La Carte it make it even easier; you get 44 – 4″ × 6″ Cards (2 each of 22 designs) and 78 – 3″ × 4″ Cards (3 each of 26 designs) so you could make a ton of cards for only $14.95.

What makes using the PML cards so fabulous is most of the work is done for you, all I did was add some bling for the most part.  Check out the 18 cards I created (there are two of each design).

PML Holiday Cards ~ Pear & Partridge ~ catscrapbooking

Don’t you just love them and they were seriously so simple!  Cardstock, sequins, clear sparkles, pink glitter gems, bakers twine, shimmer trim, glitter paper and Bling Gems is all it took.  I highly recommend giving these a try as you will be amazed on how easily they come together.  You can check out all the PML kits right HERE.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ P

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “P”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “P” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY

If you just arrived from LINDA’S BLOG then you are on the right track.

I have heard of consultants using Picture My Life cards for things other than for PLM scrapbooking, but I was blown away when I went to convention as saw some of the awesome artwork some of the presenters created using PML cards I knew I had to give it a try.  I have a lot going on in my life so I really needed a prompt way to create my artwork as I am down to the last minute getting my artwork complete.  Well using PML cards was a perfect solution, I used the Later Sk8r Picture My Life Z1945.

Later Sk8r PML card - you rock my world

For this card I did a little fussy cutting to pop the “you rock my world” part and backed it in our new Teal Glitter paper Z1991 and used the thin 3D foam tape to give it a little dimension.  I used the chevron embossing folder Z1925 on the Pear card base and distressed with a sanding block. To add a little bling I also used the Green and Blue Epoxy Bubble Z1806.

Later Sk8r PML card - WOW

For this card I used Lagoon and Outdoor Denim.  I aded a little pop with white pen hand sketched line and some Aqua Dots Z1853.  I also used Lagoon wash tape which has been retired now.

Now hop on over to TRACEY PIERCE ~ PAPERCRAFTING PRINCESS and see what she has crated for you.

If you should get lost along the way the full list of participant is listed on LINDA’S BLOG.

Picture my Life ~ Later Sk8r

This garage sale has just about consumed all my time and zapped my brain – or is that my 2 1/2 year old.  Anyway sorry for the error with my previous post about Picture My Life.  I had started it then got pulled away and never got to go back and finish.  So here is take two…  I will be so glad once I make it to Saturday and this garage sale is over.

I have to be honest in saying I was not sure if I would like the Picture My Life style of scrapbooking.  I know a lot of people really like it so I figured it was time to give it a try.  It was simple choosing my cards to use even though there were 48 different designs.  I then picked my photos and assembled.  Being a traditional scrapbooker the hardest thing for me to adjust to was the cards are sufficient to stand on their own.  What I mean is there is not a need to add a lot of additional embellishments.  I did add a few with the Later Sk8r stickerease and some of the Blue and Green Epoxy Bubble.

Later Sk8er PML 1 ~catscrapbooking.com

The bottom left card is the one I embellished.

Later Sk8er PML 2 ~catscrapbooking.com

For this layout the only card I embellished was also the bottom left card.

Later Sk8er PML 3 ~catscrapbooking.com

With this layout I did not add anything to the layout.

Later Sk8er PML 4 ~catscrapbooking.com

And with this final layout I added a couple stickerease to the bottom middle card.  It was really easy to complete 4 layout once I let go of the fact I did not need to over embellish 🙂  I have to admit I liked using the Picture My Life collection!

There are eight different collections – Later Sk8r, Chantilly, Laughing Lola, Avonlea, Babycakes, Surf’s Up, Skylark, and Balloon Ride.   The collections are $24.95 and include the following:

44 – 4″ × 6″ Cards (2 each of 22 designs)
78 – 3″ × 4″ Cards (3 each of 26 designs)
1 – 12″ × 12″ Designed Cover Sheet
10 – 12″ × 12″ Memory Protectors™ (various designs)
