It was hard to choose which of these adorable images to use. I decided to show you two ways you could color the flowers.

So I went with the cute hedgehog. I used the Oval Frame Thin cut for both of these cards. One was made into a shaker and the other was not.

This hedgehog I use colored pencils to color. I then curved the sentiment to put below the hedgehog. I used the Papaya cardstock on the black.

For this one I made into a shaker. I added the lagoon loose gems. For this hedgehog I used oxide inks and water on watercolor paper. I then stamped the image on the watercolor paper. I then fussy cut the flowers and paper pieced on to another stamped image.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of OCTOBER. Color Dare #463 ~ Fall Photo Inspiration

Happy Friday! Fall looks different in very part of the world. Here is Colorado we are slowly beginning to see cooler temperatures and the leaves are beginning to change. For Color Dare Challenge #463 we have a fun one for you. We have a photo inspiration for this weeks challenge, simply choose at least three colors from the photo plus Black and White are free.

I love this photo inspiration! Maybe it is because fall is my favorite! I heard a survey saying would you choose to only have Fall all year or have the other 3 seasons and never have fall. For me I would choose to have fall all year round!

For this card I used the Honey Bee Scattered Leaves Stencil with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distressed Oxide Ink. I used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut and then matted with Mocha Cardstock. I used Mocha, Paprika and Papaya cardstock for this Sunflower by Honey Bee Stamps. I added a bit of Rose Gold Shimmer Trim to go with the sentiment which is from the For All Occasions stamp set. I added a couple of Rose Gold Sequins for a little bling.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #463 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. You can also link up via Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr and  other forums. For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

If you are coming from MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 9 makers participating in this hop.

So today is my son’s 10th birthday and I wanted to make him a fun card. One of his favorite stuffed animals in a pair of sharks he named Clark and Clarke. I thought it would be fun to make him a shark theme birthday card.

I decided to play with the Slimline Celebration, new Glitter paper, Oxide inks, shimmer brush, Stickles, and gems. I started by creating my own background using Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and Chipped Sapphire inks. Here is what is looked like.

I then spritzed the background with water and Clear Shimmer brush. I then trimmed it to 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches.

You can see some of those oxide reactions have a bit a shine to it. I cut the Circle Cluster Thin Cut with Capri Glitter paper. I combined the Jawsome Birthday Stamp & Thin Cut with Fishy Greetings Stamp Set. I also used the new Lagoon Gems and Diamond Stickles.

I have a couple of projects for you today with this fun stamp set.

This week we had the CTMH Virtual Conference and it was amazing! I was inspired by some of the presenters who used oxide inks on our Foil Pattern Papers. I decided to give it a try with our Silver Foil Papers. I used the Seedless Preserves Oxide ink for the background. I love how it turned out!! I then used the Stitched Scallop Bracket Thin Cut for the sentiment. I used the Wood Hearts and colored them with my Black Shimmer Brush. For the larger heart I backed it with Lilac cardstock and added a bit of Silver Embellishing Thread. I used my markers to color the grapes.

I had this idea while making the first card to actually make a bunch of grapes using circles. I pulled a retired embossing folder for the background. I used Grape, Lilac, and New England Ivy cardstock for the grape bunch. I used the 1″ circle Thin Cut.

I used the Isabelle papers to make this Summer layout. I did not have time to get the photo printed but it will be of my son selling lemonade. I used the Isabelle Cricut Collection to cut the lemons. I decided to change the watermelon shape in the Summer with a lemon. I added a few white sequins from the Silver Sequins and the yellow flowers from the Springtime Flowers.

Here is a close up of some of those details. I did add Lemonade Shimmer Brush to the lemons and a few splatters.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of AUGUST. Heart 2 Heart ~Let’s Get Inky

Welcome to our first June Challenge!!

For this challenge we want you to use inks to make a background, color items or however you choose to use your inks. Our only requirement is you must use at least one Close to My Heart product. I went with using my Oxide inks.

I used my oxide inks to create the backgrounds of each of these cards.

This was the first one I created. I used one of the stencils from the Stencil Pack 3. I sponged Chipped Sapphire ink onto the Daisy White Cardstock. Then using the Stitched Rectangle Thin cuts. I matted the background on black cardstock. I then used the Stitched Fancy Brackets for the background. Using the sapphire Shimmer Brush to splatter behind the sentiment. The sentiment is from the My Dad Rocks Stamp Set. I used the Black Ore Paper for the strip behind the sentiment. The blue dots are from my stash.

For this card I used a combination of oxide inks ~ Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet. After blending the colors, I used a piece of White Daisy that was cut using one of the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts. Using this cut cardstock I used as a mask to create the waves. I used white pigment ink and sponged the waves. I used the 3″ circle thin cut for the sentiment. I used my markers to color in the fish. The dots are also from my stash.

For this one, I created my own stencil with my Cricut. I sponged Mustard Seed, Candy Apple, Faded Jeans and Rustic Wilderness Oxide inks. I used the Square Stitched Thin Cuts. I added a bit of red to the hearts using Carnation Red Liquid Pearls.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. Did you know you can link your projects from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, and many other platforms using the url link to your design. You have until JUNE 30th, 2021 to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Hop – “Just Distress Oxide It!”

Welcome to the Just Distress Oxide It Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques using Oxide Inks. I have a couple of techniques using Oxide Inks that I want to share with you. As you hop around you will see some fun ways to incorporate these oxide inks into your artwork. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 10 makers participating in this hop.

These are the three cards I create each using oxide inks in a different way. I will walk you through the different techniques.

For this card I used stencils with the oxide inks Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers to create the background. I then spritzed the oxide inks to create the oxidized look. I used the Hillside Cottage Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts for the fox. I also used the Hillside Cottage Shapes which I colored using the oxide inks. I used the Pumice Stone on the bunny and White Pigment in on the dot in the center of the flower. The flower on the right I use Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn. I added a few dot with Onyx Pearl.

For this card I crated a background by putting some oxide ink on my all purpose mat. I used the Hearts Background Thin Cut, Vellum and an “hello” that was cut with my Cricut and sitting in my extras cup.

You can see I placed the ink on the mat then on the right I spritzed the inks with water. I then started to smoosh the Distressed Oxide paper. Using my heat tool in between applying ink.

For the third card I used my Hexagon Stencil from Stencil pack 2.

For this card I used Candy Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Chipped Sapphire, and Seedless Preserves oxide inks to create my rainbow. I used the Stitched Hexagon Thin Cut for the sentiment, I cut the black layered hexagon freehand. The sentiment is from the stamp set that is part of the Cardmaking Craft with Heart Subscription. I added some Carnation Red Liquid Pearls to give it a bit of pop.

Technique Blog Hop ~ It’s Faux

Welcome to the It’s Faux Blog Hop!

I used some of these and crated my own. If you are coming from BRANDI ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 13 makers participating in this hop.

I designed two cards for you. One using the faux wood tiles of the Letter Tiles Stamp and Thin Cuts. The other is using the wood grain papers.

I used the Letter Tiles Stamp and Thin Cuts on Almond Cardstock. I used Toffee and Black Ink. I added a couple of the Wood Hearts which I colored with Mustard Seed Oxide ink.

With this card, I used a technique that Brenda Rose showed to fellow makers to apply ink to the wood grain papers. I used the Seedless preserves on one of the wood grain paper. I used Pewter as the base. The flowers are from the Every Bit of Wonderful stamp set. The flowers and leaves were fussy cut. I used the Scalloped Stitched Bracket Thin Cut for the sentiment.
