February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop ~ Cherishing Her

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring January’s stamp of the month ~Cherishing Her (S2002) a set of 23.

If you are coming here from MISS. CARRIE’S CREATIONS Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 20 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

This stamp set has such a wonderful bouquet of flowers that you will want to make as a focal point on your artwork. Here is what I came up with.

I wanted to create a card with the bouquet as the focus so I started with the one on the right. I decided to play with the new Holographic papers to stamp some of the flowers.

I fussy cut the bouquet and colored it with our Tri-blend markers. I stamped the flowers on the Dreamy Holographic papers and the Oasis Holographic papers. I used Stazon Ink and then fussy cut. I used the Seasonal Mix-in papers and a bit of Black shimmer trim. This cards pattern is number 9 from the Make it From Your Heart Volume 4.

For this card I stamped a portion of the bouquet around the edges ad then colored them. I used the brush stroke stamp from the Can’t Get Enough stamp set. I used Lagoon ink for the strokes and to mat behind the flowers.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of FEBRUARY and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Cardmaking WYW Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cardmaking WYW Blog Hop!!

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring artwork which showcases the Cardmaking WYW!! What I love about these kits is you are getting an exclusive stamp set plus the instructions, and supplies to make 12 cards.  What is great is you do not need to follow the directions or even change things up a bit.  The ideas are really endless.

If you are just arriving her from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 14 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I chose the Mother’s Day Cardmaking Kit which has unfortunately has sold out. I did not need 6 mother’s day cards, however, I do need thank you cards so I decided to add my own twist to these cards.

So the top card is how the instructions show to design the card and the bottom two thank you cards I designed using the same sketch.  I just pulled a little Glacier and Pacifica cardstock for my stash.

So the card on the bottom row middle is closest to how the kit show to make the cards.  I decided to create my own using the Pacifca and Glacier papers.  So you can completely work these cards to your needs.  It is nice to have the sketches and cutting guides to work from.

Technique Blog Hop ~ Resisting Can Be Fun

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

12885795_10153498448327934_6111664379251054366_oThis month we are featuring a technique called Resisting!  What is resisting?  Here is a definition I found on the internet “withstand the action or effect of.”  I like to use embossing powder for this technique.  I would usually use a colored embossing power, like white, black, silver, etc.  This time I tried clear embossing powder.   If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

So I started with a White Daisy cardstock, then using Versamark I stamped the image.  I then used clear embossing powder.

Embossed Resist ~ Mothers Day Card step 1 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThen I used Glacier, Pixie and Thistle inks and a dauber to apply the ink to the White Daisy cardstock.

Embossing Resist ~ Mother's Day Card step 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comOnce I applied all the ink to change the color of the White Daisy, I then stamped some additional flowers.

Mother’s Day Card

I can’t believe Mother’s day is just around the corner, May 10th.  I really love the new Flowers for Mom stamp set B1473.FLowers for Mom

I wanted to make a fancy fold type card and thought an easel card would be a good one for Mother’s day as it could be a display card.  The two paper packs that came to mind to use were Blossom and Brushed. Here is what I designed.

One More Mother’s Day

Okay, I have one more version of my Mother’s Day flower and card.  It is still using the Lollydoodle paper pack.  Let me know which one you think is better…

Mother’s Day card

Two days ago I posted a Mother’s Day flower, well here is the card I created to go with it.

Mother's day_card framed

For this card I used the stitch guide to created the circles.  Then using the juniper washi and the cotton candy polka dot (both retired) complement the colors in the Lollydoodle paper pack.  I did not have a brad that would match to secure the center of the pinwheel so I used a little liquid glass and a dot of Pear re-inker.  This is a great trick when you need to create a complementing element and you don’t have the right one, you can just make one.  The Mother’s Day was stamped using a retired stamp set Say it Style D1283.   The cardstock used is Cotton Candy, Pear, Juniper and Daisy White.

Mother’s Day Flower

I was having so much fun with Lollydoodle paper pack, that I decided to go ahead and create a Mother’s Day gift.  I know it is a bit early but the past couple of years I seem to run behind.  I found this adorable flower design and knew it would be prefect with the Lollydoodle paper pack.

It is so cool that the butterfly comes off and it reveals a beautiful flower.

I used my Silhouette with the Lollydoodle paper pack, Pear and Cotton Candy cardstock.  I just purchase a little Easter grass to fill the planter.  What a fun creation!
