Boys Cards ~ Part 2

As I promised earlier this week here are two more boy themed cards I designed.  I really love using the Picture My Life cards to create cards.  It cuts down on the design time as you already have a great colorful 3×4 or 4×6 card and all you need to do is add a base and possibly some bling.

Boy's cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card I used the Stripe Embossing folder Z 1960 on Outdoor Denim.  I backed the 3×4 Later Sk8r PML card Z1945 with Ruby. Then to add a little extra I used White Enamel Stars Z2010.  How simple is that??

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8er ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comSo for this card I used a Later Sk8r 3×4 PML card and backed it with White Daisy cardstock  I then had a little extra Honeycomb Embossed Outdoor Denim from the first cards I made so I used that to break up the stripes from the Pear Fundamental paper. For the bling I used the Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles Z1806.

Now I my next task in the near future it to design some boy and girl birthday cards.  I hope to get to those in the next week or so.

Boy Cards ~ part 1

I always feel I am running short on boy theme cards.  I really needed to sit down and crate a few as I have some cousins and nephews who I like to send cards to during the summer and while they are at camp.   I decided I would make my life easy and use the Picture My Life cards from Later Sk8r.  These worked perfectly and it to so little effort to design.  Here are the first two:

Boy cards ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~

For this one I used the Adventure Fundamental Paper Pack for the base color and then used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with Outdoor Denim.  I matted the PML card on some White Daisy cardstock.  To add a little something extra I added three green epoxy bubbles. Boy Cards 3 ~ Later Sk8r ~ PML Cards ~ catscrapbooking.comWith this card, I used the Honeycomb Embossing folder with the Outdoor Denim, then took a sanding block and ran it over the top of the embossed cardstock.  I used the new Hello Summer  C1595 stamp set which I inked in Outdoor Denim on Ruby cardstock.  I also used Lagoon and Whisper cardstock.  To add a little more texture I used the Aqua dots and a bit of Liquid Glass on the white circles in the cup to look like moisture.

These cards came together so quickly and they look so fun.  I will share two more with you this week.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ P

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “P”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “P” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY

If you just arrived from LINDA’S BLOG then you are on the right track.

I have heard of consultants using Picture My Life cards for things other than for PLM scrapbooking, but I was blown away when I went to convention as saw some of the awesome artwork some of the presenters created using PML cards I knew I had to give it a try.  I have a lot going on in my life so I really needed a prompt way to create my artwork as I am down to the last minute getting my artwork complete.  Well using PML cards was a perfect solution, I used the Later Sk8r Picture My Life Z1945.

Later Sk8r PML card - you rock my world

For this card I did a little fussy cutting to pop the “you rock my world” part and backed it in our new Teal Glitter paper Z1991 and used the thin 3D foam tape to give it a little dimension.  I used the chevron embossing folder Z1925 on the Pear card base and distressed with a sanding block. To add a little bling I also used the Green and Blue Epoxy Bubble Z1806.

Later Sk8r PML card - WOW

For this card I used Lagoon and Outdoor Denim.  I aded a little pop with white pen hand sketched line and some Aqua Dots Z1853.  I also used Lagoon wash tape which has been retired now.

Now hop on over to TRACEY PIERCE ~ PAPERCRAFTING PRINCESS and see what she has crated for you.

If you should get lost along the way the full list of participant is listed on LINDA’S BLOG.

Picture my Life ~ Later Sk8r

This garage sale has just about consumed all my time and zapped my brain – or is that my 2 1/2 year old.  Anyway sorry for the error with my previous post about Picture My Life.  I had started it then got pulled away and never got to go back and finish.  So here is take two…  I will be so glad once I make it to Saturday and this garage sale is over.

I have to be honest in saying I was not sure if I would like the Picture My Life style of scrapbooking.  I know a lot of people really like it so I figured it was time to give it a try.  It was simple choosing my cards to use even though there were 48 different designs.  I then picked my photos and assembled.  Being a traditional scrapbooker the hardest thing for me to adjust to was the cards are sufficient to stand on their own.  What I mean is there is not a need to add a lot of additional embellishments.  I did add a few with the Later Sk8r stickerease and some of the Blue and Green Epoxy Bubble.

Later Sk8er PML 1

The bottom left card is the one I embellished.

Later Sk8er PML 2

For this layout the only card I embellished was also the bottom left card.

Later Sk8er PML 3

With this layout I did not add anything to the layout.

Later Sk8er PML 4

And with this final layout I added a couple stickerease to the bottom middle card.  It was really easy to complete 4 layout once I let go of the fact I did not need to over embellish 🙂  I have to admit I liked using the Picture My Life collection!

There are eight different collections – Later Sk8r, Chantilly, Laughing Lola, Avonlea, Babycakes, Surf’s Up, Skylark, and Balloon Ride.   The collections are $24.95 and include the following:

44 – 4″ × 6″ Cards (2 each of 22 designs)
78 – 3″ × 4″ Cards (3 each of 26 designs)
1 – 12″ × 12″ Designed Cover Sheet
10 – 12″ × 12″ Memory Protectors™ (various designs)

Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is Melinda Everitt.   The Stampers with an Attitude are all excited to show you a little Art with an Attitude, so here we go…..

In March CTMH put out a wonderful video showing how to create a mini album.  I have been wanting to try one myself,  so I finally embarked on it.  The album I am creating is a little gift for my son’s godparents.   What I love about this album is the fact you can use all different papers.   For this album I used papers from the following collections Dream Pop, Later Sk8r, Avonlea, Stella, Dotty for you, and Footloose along with cardstock.  Although I wanted to show off the entire album I have only selected a few photos.

Mini Album- Gavin CoverFor the cover I used mostly the Later Sk8r paper with Outdoor denim.  I used the dimensional banners with blue epoxy bubbles.

Gavin mini album pg1

For this page you can see the great textured cardstock from the Dream Pop paper along wit one of the prints.   I love the Zoology stamp set and use it for my accents.

Gavin mini album pg4

For this page I used the adorable Bugs & Hugs stamp set.
Gavin mini album pg5

This page used retired papers but the blended so well with the color I was using for this album. It is paper form Stella and Footloose.  I also use the Footloose WOTG stamp set.Gavin mini album pg6

I did use solid cardstock on a couple of the pages to break up the patterns. On this layout I used Pear to complement the Later Sk8r paper. I used the Look Who’s stamp set.Gavin Mini album pg7

For the center of the album I liked the concept of creating a envelope, I will use this to include additional journaling.Gavin mini album pg9I really enjoyed creating this album and I hope you will try one too.  It was really easy to create and so much fun to mix up all the different pattern papers from retired and current papers.

Later Sk8r Layout

As I mentioned on the Roxybond Scrappers blog hop, I really love the Later Sk8r paper pack and all the accessories.  It may be due to the fact I have a little boy and love to scrapbook him.  I designed the following layout which was inspired by the layout shown in the Spring/Summer 2013 catalog on page 47.  I love all the gears and the way the paper was cut on the layout.  I really had a fun time creating this layout and was very happy with the way it turned out.

Gavin's Later Sk8r layout 7 - Version 2

I used my Silhouette to cut the paper, title and all the gears.  I was even able to design the gears so they would fit with the In Gear stamp set. For this project I used the following CTMH product:

  • Later Sk8r Paper Pack (X7167B)
  • Slate Card Stock
  • Outdoor Denim Card Stock
  • Lagoon Card Stock
  • Pear Card Stock
  • Daisy White Card Stock
  • Fast and Furious Stamp Set (d1541)
  • In Gear Stamp Set (B1415)
  • Later Sk8r Workshop On the Go Stamp Set
  • Later Sk8r Assortment (z1810)
  • Green &  Blue Epoxy Bubbles (z1806)
  • Slate Ink
  • Lagoon Ink
  • Outdoor Denim Ink
  • Black Embossing Powder
  • Clear Embossing Powder

I am looking forward to what other cool layouts and cards I can design using these papers, inks and stamp sets.

CTMH – Roxybond Scrappers Team Blog Hop – Later Sk8r

Welcome to Roxybond Scrappers Team Blog Hop!!

Roxybonds Scrappers

We are featuring some of the new product lines from the Spring/Summer 2013 catalog.  This month we are showcasing the Later Sk8tr paper.

If you came here from Stephanie’s Blog then you are on the right path.  Your next stop will be Tess’s Blog.

Since I love to scrapbook I usually will do a two page layout for this blog hop.   I have to admit that this may be my favorite paper pack of this collection.  It may be because I have a 17 month old boy and I know that this paper is perfect for him. Not to mention all the wonderful stamp sets that coordinate with it.

Later Sk8ter blog layout 2 - Version 2

For this layout I basing it on the “Full House” from Imagine, using  the following products:

Lagoon Cardstock

Pear Cardstock

Later Sk8tr Paper

 In Gear stamp set

Later Sk8tr Scrapbook stamp set

Later Sk8r Stickease

Slate Stamp Pad

Outdoor Denim Stamp Pad

March Card Workshop

Every month I hold a workshop where you can come complete a scrapbook layout which is usually the layout I feature on the Roxybond Scrapper Team Blog Hop. But I also have a card workshop that same night.  I really had no idea I would enjoy making cards as much as I have.  I keep finding all these cool techniques.  So my challenge to myself is to try at least one new technique for the workshop.  This way I learn something new and so do the participants.  This months new technique is Iris Fold Card.  I have been seeing them all over Pinterest, so I took the plunge.

Since Easter is just around the corner and CTMH has a very cute Easter Wishes stamp set, I could not resist.  I actually thought this stamp set would work as a slider style card.  Here is the end result:

For this next card I was also inspired by Pinterest.  I had seen these woven cards and realized it was actually a die by Simon Says Stamp.

And my last workshop card was also Pinterest inspired (HaightMark Scrapbooking) using the Later Sk8r paper and Perfect fit birthday stamp set.
