Layout #28 ~ CTMH Convention 2014 Fun Run

Wow is time flying!!! I have been so busy since coming home from the 2016 Close to My Heart Convention.  My head is spinning with Ideas as I have been drooling over the new Annual Inspiration.  I managed to sneak some time in over the last two days to get a layout done so I can stay on target of a layout a week.

I decided it would be fitting to scrapbook a layout from the 2014 Close to My Heart Convention.  This was the first year that I attended convention and it was in Disneyland.  On one of the mornings CTMH organized a Fun Run which would benefit Operation Smile.  It was a 5K and went through California Adventure before the parks opened.  I have to confess I am not a pink person but for some reason I decided to purchase a pink t-shirt to wear and made a tutu.  If you know me these are totally outside of my comfort zone.  Now to top this off I used a lot of pinks on my layout 🙂

Fundamentals ~ Kaleidoscope ~ CTMH Convention 2014 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this layout I used:

  • Kaleidoscope Paper Pack
  • Pixie and Smoothie Fundamentals
  • White Daisy Cardstock
  • Pink Glitter paper
  • White Twine
  • Pixie Twine
  • Handwritten Alphabet E1030

My Layout Challenge #6

Happy Valentines!  I have another layout to share with you this week.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the Cob Layout ~ Catscrapbooking.comI was not really sure about the Kaleidoscope paper pack as it looked so bright and how could I use it for a boy.  Well I have found it really easy by focusing on the greens and yellows.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the Cob detail 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love my Ink Blot stamp Set as I love the look of it and it is the perfect way to add color to a layout.  I also love the fact I was able to use a pattern paper for the journaling tag.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the cob detail 1 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe Corn on the cob is a Cricut cut which is part of my paid subscription.  There are still times when I need to use my Silhouette as Cricut still does not let you modify the designs.  I cannot figure a way to cut the chevrons in half with my Cricut.

Products used:

  • Kaleidoscope paper pack X7202B
  • Cardstock ~ White Daisy, Pear, Sweet Leaf, Canary and Pacifica
  • Ink ~ Canary and Pacifica
  • Stamp Sets ~ Ink Blot D1660 and Cheers 2016! S1511 (retired)
  • Ribbon from my stash
  • Cricut and Silhouette

Kaleidoscope Layout ~ Texturizing Techniques

I have a fun layout that I created using a technique I recently saw in a Close to My Heart video.  The video is about adding texture to your layout and when was designing this layout I decided to give it a try.  Here is the video which shows a couple other ideas too but I focused on the cellophane bag, ink and our cleaner.

Here is my layout:

Kaleidoscope layout ~ Springtime Wishes ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo add the Sunset and Pacifica to the background here is what I did:

Texturizing Technique ~ Step 1 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThen just adding a spritz or two of the CTMH Stamp cleaner results in beading of the ink.

Texturizing Techniques ~ Step 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comI then just rubbed the cellophane bag around the paper an viola a unique textured background.

Texturizing Technique ~ Kaleidoscope Layout ~ CatScrapbooking.comSo simple but it creates a unique affect.

Stampers with an Attitude ~ Kaleidoscope

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!!  The Stampers with an Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with an Attitude are going to be showcasing art work with the Kaleidoscope paper pack.

If you are just starting here or hopping here from MELINDA EVERITT ’S Blog  then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating consultant at the end of my blog.

I do really love Kaliedoscope, it is such a fun, bright and colorful paper pack!  Have you seen the Card Workshop on the Go for this paper pack?  LOVE IT!!  So perfect for making birthday cards and don’t we all always need birthday cards?   I know I do!!!  I have to admit I love the card designs but with all the pink and having two boys in the house that I need to make some a bit more boyish.  So what I wanted to show you that with just a couple minor changes you can make both boy and girl birthday card.

Kaleidoscope Card Workshop Card 1 ~ Catscrapbooking.comWith the first card I changed the cut of the B&T from 5 1/2 X 4 1/2″ to 5 1/4 X 4″.  I switched the gems for Enamel & Glitter Duo Blue Dots and pulled a bit of Chrystal Blue paper and ink.

Kaliedoscope Card Workshop Card 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this card the only change is switching Pixie for Crystal Blue and changing the gems to Enamel & Glitter Duos Blue Dots.

Kaliedoscope Card Workshop Card 3 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor the third card it is switching the cardstock to Crystal blue, along with the ink and changing to the Enamel & Glitter Duo Blue Dots.

Now it is time to hop on over to the SHEILA BENNETT ’S Blog  and see what wonderful creation she has for you.  Here is the full list of participants:
