H2H Adventure Awaits

Welcome to another week and another challenge from Heart 2 Heart!

There are so many Adventures in life and we can celebrate these moments in many way. For me I love to Scrapbook them. This spring we went on a camping trip. We went with a large group of friend (there were over 30 adults and 20 kids) to Fruita, CO. We took over most of the campground so it was fun to just let the kids run wild. This was a big step for us as this was the first time our son has camped and it has been over 40 years for myself.

We had a great time! I love this paper pack Into the Wild, it is probably one of my all time favorites from Close to My Heart!! So when I started this layout, I seriously agonized over it for three days!! You know this happens when you really love a paper pack and want everything to be perfect. Part of my struggle was I wanted to include so many photos and was trying to accomplish with just flip flaps. I finally decided to go with Pocket Plus pages so that I could incorporate some of the Picture My Life Cards from Into the Wild.

This is the base layout

I added a few details to show you some of the unique elements. For starters I used two other pattern papers to piece together with Heather and White Daisy cardstock to make the camper. I also used the grass stamp from the Happy Trails Stamp set and Thin Cut. I also used many of Into the Wild Wood Shapes.

Here is another detail showing the stamped border I created using New England Ivy ink and cardstock using the pine trees from the Happy Trails Stamp set. I used Espresso Pigment ink to stamp the logs and Intense black to stamp the fire. I then use watercolors to paint the fire.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Into the Wild

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks challenge theme is INTO THE WILD.  For this challenge you can interpret this in any way you see fit.  Close to My Heart has a paper pack by this name which is one of my absolute favorites!!  Living in Colorado we love our big back yard!! My husband has one hobby ~ Mountain Biking!! I have been wanting to design a fun layout for this.  After seeing Miss Carrie’s Creations June Kit of the Month, I was inspired with her mountains to design this layout.

I used my Cricut to cut the mountains, #optoutside, Mountain bike and mountain scene. I used the Artistry and You Are Here Cartridges.

Here it is with the photos. I still need my husband to sit down with me to do the journaling.

I used the Into the Wild paper pack with New England Ivy, Sapphire, Black, Silver Foil and White Daisy. The ribbon has been retired but I love the green burlap ribbon.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until July 31th to participate in this challenge or any of the others we have going on this month. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #350 ~ Inspiration Photo – 4th of July

Happy Friday!! Hope you are having a wonderful Fourth of July!!  This week for Color Dare #350 we have a great Inspiration Photo – 4th of July. Pick colors that you see in the photo and BLACK , WHITE and NEUTRALS are free!

I could not resits creating a layout celebrating this holiday.  I choose a photo from 4 years ago as I am that far behind in scrapbooking.

I used a combination of papers for this layout.  The red and white polka dot is from Magical which retired.  The blue stars is from the Into the Wild Paper Pack. The base page is from retired Feels Like Home.  I created the other Candy Apple paper by using Glossy Texture Paste and Stencil Sheets. I used my Cricut to cut the Fireworks Overlay. Here is a close up of the paper.

I also used the Spark Joy special Thin Cuts to cut the banner which I used for journaling.  I used some of the loose sequins form Crafty and the red sequins are retired.  I used the star thin cuts which are now retired and stacked them.  The circle are cut using my Cricut and the stitched circle is a Lawn Fawn die.  The stamp is Happy 4th of July.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #350 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

All of the Cricut cuts are from YOU ARE HERE and the FLOWER MARKET cartridges.  Here is a closer look at each letter.  The letters are our Chipboard Letters, we also have numbers too!

So living here in Colorado, our summers are spent enjoying all that the great outdoors have to offer. One of our family favorites is to Mountain Bike. So of course the letter “S” is a tribute to this.  I did use the Into the Wild Complements on a number of the letters.  I tore a bit of Kraft to make it look like a trail and also used some of the Silver Foil Paper on the bike.close to my heart ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Into the Wild ~ Summer ~ home decor

The “U” is playful to me with the trees and cute wood grain critters from the Into the Wild Complements.

I thought for this “M” I would feature one of the water sports you can do here.

Of course hiking is a big draw here in Colorado and one of my favorite ways to get out an explore the outdoors.

Heart 2 Heart ~ National Scrapbooking Month

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

National Scrapbooking Month is all about getting scrapbooking completing pages and celebrating our wonderful craft.  I have to admit I am totally loving the Cut Above Layout Kits and The World is Yours does not disappoint. I am also loving the Craft with Heart subscription! With my subscription I have been completing so many more layouts!  Here is The World is Yours Cut Above Layouts.

With this layout I added a few of the Into the Wild Wood Shapes and some of the Bronze Sequins. Here are the pages closer up.

I did change the size of the two lower outer photos. They are 2×3 inches instead of the 2×2 inch photos the kit suggests.

The second layout in the kit is great too!

With this layout I did not change or add anything.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!
