Technique Blog Hop ~ Music to the Eyes

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month there are 16 consultants featuring the technique ~ Music to the Eyes.  This technique is featured on page 34 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  Have you ever just taken a pen and sketched or outlined something?  Well why not incorporate this into your layouts or cards?   It seems to be the trendy thing these days and I have to admit I am beginning to jump on the movement.  It is really fun to take your journaling pen and add a little accent here and there to draw your eye to features.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you are coming from HALEY DYER’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I designed a layout using Hopscotch (I told you I love this paper pack 🙂 ). I used several solid cardstock colors and used my journalling pen to add some interest to the cardstock.

Technique hop ~ Hopscotch ~ Catscrapbooking.comI love this photo of my son when he was just a year old, his expression is priceless.  You can see where I used my journaling pen – around the blue cardstock, the journaling box and on the letters.  Here is a close up.

Technique hop ~ Hopscotch detail ~ Catscrapbooking.comThe cool thing about this technique is you don’t have to be able to draw straight lines!!! It is actually more fun if you wiggle your pen a bit.  There are so many ways you can do this doodling with adding breaks like I did with the three dots or no breaks.  You can use hatch marks or zig-zags the possibles are limitless.  I wanted to mention on the banner I created my own random stamped paper as I wanted to use second generation stamping rather than the boldness of the pattern paper.
