I have been on a kick using the Cedar & Pine – Cardmaking Stamp Set and Thin Cuts. I really love this nutcracker!! With the ability to change mustaches, hats, add a drum, and even ink color for the hair. You can watercolor him or use markers. I went with watercolors. I stamped him in black pigment ink then used clear embossing powder. The tree is from Complete Creativity and was cut using both sided of Evergreen cardstock.

I then used the Gold Embellishing Thread to wrap around the tree. I then created ornaments with Stickles, I used Christmas Red, Green, and Golden Rod.

Holiday Cheer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Cheer Blog Hop!!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our HOLIDAY CHEER Promotion. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KRISTINE PONTE’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I used the Digital cuts that are included with the HOLIDAY CHEER special to cut the snow globe out of the Silver Foil Paper. The Sapphire cardstock was embossed with the new Snowflake Embossing Folder. I also used the Holiday Trimming Stamp Set to stamp the Happy Holidays. I used White Pigment ink and then used White Embossing power. I did do this prior to using the snowflake embossing folder. I then wrapped Silver Embellishing Thread around the bottom. I used the Whimsical Holiday stamp set with Bluebird, Carolina and Sapphire inks to stamp the stars and snowflakes. I mixed the blue sequins from the Loose Craft On and Silver Sequins.

I also made up a few of the tag/ornaments as the special intended. I love that there is a variety of options with this special.

I had to make one as an ornament of my son. I love that this can be the perfect gift for a grandparent one just for us to hang on our tree. I picked out some of the red sequins from the Holiday Loose Sequins and mixed with Silver Sequins.

Here is another with the Gold Sequins and Gold Glitter Paper.

Here is one more. I used the Dark Red Marker to color the base then went over it with the Red Shimmer Brush.

Color Dare #272 ~ Traditional Christmas Colors

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #272 we are doing a Christmas Extravaganza this whole month. We will feature creations using Traditional Colors.  For this challenge use Only Reds & Greens, White Daisy and/or your choice of one Neutral.

So I needed to create a few tags and thought they would be great for this challenge.

I slimply used Ruby, New England Ivy and White Daisy cardstock.  I used a touch of gold embossing on the “&”  and I did use gold shimmer on the Joy tag, however, it is not showing up.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #272 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday December 28, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Everything ABC’s ~ X

Welcome to the Everything ABC Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “X”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “X” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

The letter “X” is especially challenging when you are trying to thing of how it can relate to crafting so I am going to stretch it a bit.  I have been working on items for the craft fair I am participating in which is today ~ EEK.  I have been so busy preparing and hoping things will sell well as this is the first time I have done one.  Anyway, I have been working on holiday goodies and since Christmas is some times shortened to X-Mas, I am going to go with that as my “X” element.  Along with the eXcitement that has been building for this Craft Fair.  Now for my project:Animal Greetings ~ Holiday Treat Topper ~ Cat

Here is a close up of each of the animals.Moose Treat Topper ~ Animal Greetings ~ CatScrapbooking.com

Bear Holiday Treat topper ~ Animal Greetings ~ CatScrapbooking.com

I so love those cute little critters on the Operation Smile Stamp Set Animal Greeting D1679.  Not only is the stamp set just adorable with every stamp set sold CTMH will donate $7 to Operation Smile!!!  I wanted to make them festive for the holidays so I cut little Santa hats for them.  I did this using a SVG file with my Silhouette.  I used Momento ink to stamp the moose, raccoon and bear on the watercolor paper circles.  Then I used the watercolors to color them.  I found these 1X8″ plastic sleeves which I filled with M&M’s and tied them on using some ribbon.  I just think they are adorable and hope the shoppers do too.

Now it is time to hop on over to DONNA LONG’S Blog and see what she has created for you today.

HoHoHo Glass Block

I am definitely getting into the holiday spirit a little early.  I decided to design a fun holiday glass block.  HoHoHo Glass Block ~ Holiday Glass Block ~Artiste ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe HoHoHo is from the Artiste cartridge.  I did a bit of slicing in order to make the middle “Ho” its own cut.  This way I could make it two tone.  The snowflakes are from Artistry.  I added the fake snow and a mini strand of lights.  I am really pleased the way this turned out.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ W

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “W”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “W” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY .  If you just came from CAROL-ANNE GRENIER’S Blog then you are in the right place.

My inspiration for my “W” came this week when I received a bottle of wine and on it was a cute pre-printed gift tag.  I thought what a great concept, but I could create my own.  These could be wonderful for Christmas gifts.  My “W” it is Wine tag and Wreath.

Wine Tags ~ Catscrapbooking.comProducts used to create the wine tag:

  • Cardstock ~ Colonial white & Topiary
  • Inks ~ Ruby, Topiary, & Chocolate
  • Stamp Set ~ Merry Merry C1591
  • Embellishments ~ Stickles and bakers twine from stash
  • Foam tape
  • Embossing Folder ~ Quatrefoil

I did use pigment ink for the pine cones so they would be a bit richer and show up over the wreath.  I also scanned the carrier sheet for the stamp set so I could have my Silhouette cut the tag for the Merry Merry Christmas.

Your next stop is LAUREN MOORE’S Blog hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

If you get lost along the way you can see the full list of participants at  LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY.

Frosty the Lighted Snowman

I know it is not Thanksgiving yet, but I am getting excited for the holidays.  I have been able to create a few things so far this year.  I hope this trend continues and I will share them with you as I go.

I have always loved glass blocks, it probably stems from my love of Architecture and Interior Design.  Did you know my undergraduate degree is in Interior Design?  Well now you do.  I have to admit I have not worked in this field for close to twenty years but it was my degree.  Anyway back to glass blocks…. I have been seeing all the ones people have put lights into and used vinyl on them to make great home decor items.  Well this past weekend I was able to go to a Craft Warehouse for the first time.  I loved it as there were so many great craft items on display of what you could make.  One of the things they had were glass blocks which has a plastic bottom which would allow you to fill the inside ~ ingenious!!! Here is my creation:

Snowman glass block_1

I the glass block would work perfectly as a snowman. I designed my own face  and cut it on vinyl using my Silhouette.  I saw an adorable felt hat there but it was too small so I made my own.  I found a how to on the web and modified the directions so mine would be a little smaller.

I also had just seen the CTMH video Craft your Curls which I posted last week about using fabric to create flowers.  I told you I would post something I designed soon and check out my cool flower using the Sparkle and Shine textiles.  I only used two layers to create my flower as the video shows three.
