Technique Hop – “Accents of White”

Welcome to the Technique Hop!

This month we are focusing on accents of white on our projects! So it is up to the Maker to pick the products and how they wish to showcase. If you are coming from KIM LOEWEN’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 8 makers participating in this hop.

For my card I decided to create my own background using White Embossing Powder, Oxide Inks, Clear Shimmer Brush and White Gloss Spray. I used the If Snowflakes Were Kisses Stamp and Thin Cuts along with the Floral Snowflakes Stamp and Thin Cuts.

The first step was to stamp a few of the snowflakes onto Daisy White cardstock using VersaMark ink. I then used the White Embossing Powder. I then sponged on Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distressed Oxide Ink.

I spritzed the cardstock with water, then splattered the Clear Shimmer Brush and sprayed a bit of the White Gloss Spray. This photo it taken before I took my shammy and wiped the ink off the embossed snowflakes. So in the final card you notice how white the snowflakes look.

I cut the tag for the sentiment with the Buildable Tag Thin Cuts. I used the VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder for the sentiment. I then used my White Gel Pen to make the stitching around the edge and the white accent on the nose of the polar bear. I colored the polar bear with my Tri-blend Markers and popped him up with a bit of foam tape.

Color Dare #459 ~ French Vanilla, Black & Gold

Welcome to Friday with another Color Dare Challenge. This week for Color Dare #459 we are challenging you to use just three colors ~ French Vanilla, Black and Gold!

I have to say I stepped out of my comfort zone with this one. I am not really a gold person but I decided to really embrace the gold.

I used the Gold Foil paper and Black with my quatrefoil dies to make the background. I then used the fancy bracket thin cut to cut the black cardstock. I then used versamark to stamp anniversary and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I used the Doodled Florals Stamp and thin cuts. I cut the gold foil paper for the leaves and then used Stazon Black Ink. I used the versamark ink and gold embossing powder on the French Vanilla paper.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #459 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. Emboss It! – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month there are around 8 of us highlighting Embossing!  Embossing can be done in a couple of ways, one is considered dry embossing and another is heat embossing.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from VALERIE KAPSHA’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I decided to use both heat and dry embossing.  I saw this card by Becca Whitham which was my inspiration. I used heat embossing for the sentiment.  I stamped with Versamark then used White embossing powder.  The then used the scalloped embossing folder to dry embossing the sugarplum cardstock. I framed the scalloped cardstock with a white stitched rectangle cut using the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. The sentiment and butterflies are from Butterfly Friendship stamp set. I stamped the butterfly with Intense Black Ink and then colored them with the Watercolor Pencils.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto DARLYS RECKER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork Embossing!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!
