Nevermore ~ Halloween Layout ~ Little Monsters ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this layout I used the new Eggplant cardstock for the base pages as I love this purple!!!  I used both the Nevermore Complements and Assortments with this layout. I had fun playing around with the fun new stamp set Little Monsters C1630.  I also played with the new watercolors to color my Little Monsters.  I used pigment ink then added clear embossing powder before water-coloring them.  Here is a close up of the little Frankenstein.

Little Monsters detail ~ CatScrapbooking.comHere is the layout with my photos added.Nevermore ~ Halloween Layout with flip flaps ~ Little Monsters ~ CatScrapbooking.comI added flip flaps to the bottom two 3 x 3 photos.  I attached the pumpkins to the flip flap to be a handles to flip.

Nevermore ~ halloween Layout open flip flaps ~ Little Monsters ~ CatScrapbooking.comI used my Cricut Explore to cut the triangles at the bottom.  I simply unlocked the triangle shape and set the dimensions to .88″ wide & 1″ height for the larger shadow and .68″ wide & .78″ height to match the triangles wish come in the Complements. Here is the full list of supplies I used to crate the layout:

Welcome to this weeks Color Challenge with Color Dare #116.  This week the color challenge is Thistle & Sunset which are two of the colors featured in the Scaredy Cat Paper pack.

Color Dare #116

I just love the Scaredy Cat paper pack and could not wait to create another card with it.  I have also been enjoying the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge   so I figure I would combine the two.  I am still blown away by how fast these cards come together for you.

Color Dare #116 ~ Frightfully Cute Witch ~

For the cover I could not resist using the adorable witch from the Halloween Greeting stamp set. I stamped her using Momento ink then using the Shin Han markers I colored her and the area around the little witch.   I also used the Shin Han marker to color the sequins black.

Stampers with Attitude ~ Artfully Sent

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!! The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing artwork with the new Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.   If you are just hopping here from BELINDA MCLANE’s Blog then you are in the right spot.

This cartridge is so wonderful there are so many different cards you can create.  Today I decided since it was October and Halloween is right around the corner, then a Halloween card was in order.  I also saw a really cool technique called Alcohol Marker Marbling on Splitcoast Stampers that I have been wanting to try which would work with halloween.

Happy Haunting - Artfully Sent ~

I love these scene cards.  I used the Alcohol Marbeling technique to create the background paper.  I used Warm Gray Z2467, Marigold z2457, Peony Purple Z2462, and Golden Yellow Z2452.  You can check out the technique at Splitcoast Stampers here they have written directions and a video.

Happy Haunting - Artfully Sent inside ~

I actually cut two of the bases of the card so I could create a sandwich with the haunted house and add the Honey in the middle.  If you notice the background is glossy it is actually photo paper.  I plan to just use a journaling pen to write on the card.  I used one of the bats from the cut and colored it black to add to the happy hauntings.

Items used:

  • Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge~ Pg 44
  • Cardstock~ Black, Honey, Thistle
  • Shin Han Markers ~ Warm Gray Z2467, Marigold z2457, Peony Purple Z2462, and Golden Yellow Z2452
  • Stamp Set ~  Moonlight WOTG (retired)
  • Embellishments ~ Black Stars from Scaredy Cat Assortment.
  • Misc ~ photo paper

Halloween is around the corner…….

We are heading into my most favorite time of year. I absolutely love fall ….the cool weather, colors, football, and of course Halloween!!! Some of you may be thinking of other great fall things like kids back to school so you’re able to go and stay in the Denver vacation rentals you’ve been looking at for weeks (my son is not old enough for school yet) and hunting season (my brothers and dad look forward to this). I am actually getting excited to decorate our new home for Halloween, so if you are a Halloween fan like me, then you will love this album I have designed based on my favorite Holiday. Now I know there are a few of you out there who are not big Halloween fans – I do forgive you 🙂

When I saw the Halloween paper pack – Scardy Cat, my mind started scheming. I have purchased Halloween mini albums in the past but I have always wanted to design one myself. I will be selling this album as a kit which you can order and recreate on your own. Here is an over view of some of the pages…..

Scardy Cat mini album collage ~ catscrapbooking.comI designed this album using our My Creations Kraft 3-Ring Album. If you are not familiar with this album you will want to check it out as it can be converted to what ever your theme of album you want, all you need to do is use your Cricut to cut 8X8 inch pages using the Artbooking Cartridge or design your own. I really had fun making this album and can not wait to start adding my photos. This album the way I designed it, has 12 pages and can hold over 30 photographs. You may be thinking wait I don’t take that many halloween photos; no problem you can make is a collaboration of several years of Halloween fun.

When you order this kit from me you will receive color photos of each of the page layouts, detailed assembly instructions, cutting guides, over 25 pre-cut shapes and one of the images pre-stamped for you (the potions on page 2- see below photographs) There will be two different price points for you to choose.

Level 1 $40 plus shipping – this Kit will include the following items:

  • My Creations Kraft 3-Ring Album
  • Scardy Cat Paper Pack (some of these pages will be used for the pre-cut accents)
  • Scardy Cat Complements
  • Scardy Cat Assortment
  • (1) extra Colonial White Cardstock (all pre-cut)
  • (2) extra Orange pattern/Polka-Dot B&T Paper
  • (1) extra Black Cardstock (all pre-cut)
  • (2) extra Sunset Cardstock (all per-cut)
  • Over 25 pre-cut images (including pear, honey and glitter paper)
  • 12″ of Bakers Twine
  • 24 ” of Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon
  • 5 additional Black Stars
  • Step-by-Step Instructions

Level 2 $80 plus shipping – this kit will include everything in the Level 1 but will also include the following:

I will be taking orders starting mid September as I am still getting settled in the new house in Colorado and will plan to ship out the first week of October. If any of you are reading this and would like to do this as a workshop and live in the Greater Denver area I would be more than happy to make arrangements to do so. If you are interested please email me at

There are a few additional items you may wish to purchase to help you complete the project:

Here are a some of the pages in greater detail, starting with the cover.

This is page two and three of the album. I will be stamping the tag with the “potions” in Thistle for you when you purchase the kit as level 1 or 2. You can see the new Black Striped Twill complements the album and makes it a great must have.

Scardy Cat Album pg 8 & 9 ~

There are two pages like the one on the right that actually fold out to add more photos and interest to your album. Here is what the right page looks like when it is fully extended.

Scardy Cat Waterfall Card

I have been busy getting ready for the Open House/Crop which is in less than two weeks.  It is going to be a great on so if you are in the Spokane Area you will want to make sure you come!  It will be August 16th at the North Spokane Library.  If you want to come to the crop you will need to RSVP to me to save your spot.

Here ia a card I designed using some of the Halloween product.  I have always loved the Waterfall style cards and it was one of the first fancy style cards I learned to make when I started making cards.  I decided it was time pull out this technique as it would work wonderfully with the adorable Trick or Treats Sweets B1460 .

Halloween waterfall card

I actually used two different sizes when I was designing the waterfall aspect. the one on the left is 1 3/4 inches wide while the one on the right is 2 inches wide.  It does effect the scoring when you change the width as you are working with smaller squares.

Halloween waterfall card_2

To get the ink to pop on the black cardstock you will want to use your pigment inks.  I used Frightfully Fun B1453 stamp set with all the great halloween expressions.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ O

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “O”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “O” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at  LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY

If you just arrived from WENDY KESSLER then you are on the right track.

For my “O” element I have been wanting to try the Ombre technique using a sponge dauber and used a bit of  Origami.  To create the background Ombre effect I used a mask for the moon.  Then using a sponge dauber I started applying Goldrush, then Sunset and then Autumn Terracotta.   The witch hat was crated by folding paper and I added a touch of washi tape to it.

Ombre, Origami_4753

For this card I used the following products:

  • Cardstock ~ Black, Colonial White
  • Paper Pack ~ Basic Fundamentals
  • Stamp Set ~ Halloween Greetings (D1605 one of the new stamp sets available Aug 1st)
  • Ink ~ Black, Goldrush, Sunset, and Autumn Terracotta
  • Embellishments ~ Gold Washi Tape, foam tape

Your next stop is back to the beginning with LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY.

Happy Halloween!!

I hope everyone is having a spooktacular Halloween.  Sadly we have another Halloween with out a single trick or treater. But no worries as we had a lot of Halloween celebrating up until now.  This year I was able to complete a couple Halloween projects which I wanted to do.  The first was a Halloween mini album I purchased about 6 years ago from a company called Lickety Split Scrapbooking.  It is not that it was that complicated but it was buried in my scrapbook room and then trying to find time to craft.  The other project I was able to complete was my witches hats.  This project was not that old, but it was something I wanted to do last year.  I designed one of these hats last year and then gave it away to someone and did not have time to do one for myself.  Well this year I did…

Witches Hat - circle

Witches Hat- circlesWitches Hats - cat

The hat base I found at Michaels, the paper is Basic Grey Eerie, the flowers and sparkle flourish are Close to My Heart.  I used smokey plum and black cardstock to make the roses.  I then added Stickles to give the glitter look.  I really love the Sparkle Black Flourish and was the perfect addition to these hats.

Trick or Treat

Well tomorrow I am off to host my first 12 hour crop.  It will be a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to some time with friends and doing what I love ~ Crafting.  Here is what I designed as a little gift for coming.

Moonlight treat boxes

I used my Silhouette to cut the treat box and tags.  I actually designed the box by taking elements from of two different designs and making it what I wanted.  I then backed the cut away with Moonlight paper.   I love the Magic Potions stamp set and knew this was the perfect idea for them. I used a masking technique to be create the multiple ink effect on the tags.  The treat tubes are just perfect for this project.
