Welcome to the New Product Blog Hop for the January – February Idea Book.

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork using products from the new January-February Idea Book. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KIM LOEWEN’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 20 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I love the I Chews You gum-ball machine image and knew I wanted to make a birthday card with it. So here is what I came up with. I used the I Chews You Stamp set and thin cuts along with the Say It in Style stamp set for the sentiments around the spinner. The pattern paper is the Seasonal Mix in.

I used a punch from my stash that was 1/2″ to make the gumballs in Pixie, Clover, Bluebird, Candy Apple, and Lemonade, but it could be done with a Cricut as well. I also used the Card Front Spinner Thin Cuts.

I fussy cut the base of the gum-ball machine. In order to line up the opening on the base I used the negative from the base and then laid the Card Front over it.

I have to admit I have struggled getting the spinner part stamped the way I think it should look. I want the spin me to be showing when there is a sentiment showing in the window and an arrow when if I use something else. So I came up with this template.

I was able to mark where I would like the spin me or arrow to go in relation to where I will stamp. I then took this one off and placed the one I plan to stamp on the paper.

It worked perfectly!!!

For the inside I used the Birthday Greetings stamp set and added a couple of gum-balls.

Your next stop is along this hop is MELINDA EVERITT’S Blog  so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Happy Crafting!
