Technique Hop – “Silver and Gold”

Welcome to the Silver and Gold Blog Hop!

This month we are highlighting silver and gold! So it is up to the Maker to pick the products and how they wish to showcase. If you are coming from HALEY DYER’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 11 makers participating in this hop.

I love this month’s stamp of the month ~ Created to Shine! I decided to design a Christmas card with this stamp set. I cut black cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. I then stamped the light bulbs with Versamark ink and then used Gold Embossing Powder. I then colored in the lights with the Silver Metallic Markers. I used the For All Occasions Stamp Set for the sentiment. I backed it with Silver Foil Paper. I added a couple of Gold Glitter Gems for extra bling.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Midas Touch

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This weeks challenge is The Midas Touch ~ A Color Challenge: Gold. I first thought of St. Patty’s day with the pot of gold. I was flipping though some photos I have been needing to scrapbook and landed on a couple of my son eating King Cake. This would be perfect. Mardi Gras colors are purple, green, and GOLD!

I have to be honest in I have struggled with picking papers for this layout as Mardi Gras colors are bright and my son’s shirt is more muted. Then I realized I could still use Purple, Green, and Gold, just different shades.

Following pattern 4 from the Make it From Your Heart Volume 3, I used the Seasonal Mix-in Papers for the green and gold layers. I also used Grape, Sundance, New England Ivy, White Daisy and the Gold Foil Papers. The tittle, jester hat, and fleur-de-lis were cut using my Cricut.

I added a few splatters using the Evergreen, Sundance, and Grape Shimmer brushes. I added a bit more gold with the Gold Shimmer trim and some Gold Stickles for accents. The purple dots are from the In This Together Collection and the Green ones are from a retired collection. It is hard to see but I used the Charming Backgrounds on the first Grape Cardstock strip.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. Did you know you can link your projects from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, and many other platforms using the url link to your design. You have until March 31st, 2021 to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Happy Crafting!
