Technique Hop – Sparkle & Shine!

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on SPARKLE & SHINE.   There are so many Close to My Heart products that would fall into this catagory ~ Glitter Paper, Shimmer Brushes, Shimmer Trim, Sequins, Glitter Gems…. You get the idea.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from KATY TAYLOR’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I decided to focus on our Glitter Paper!  I also decided to have a bit of fun with the word Sparkle. Here is what I created.

This is a super fun card and was actually quite easy to make.  In fact I made a video to show you how. The Sparkle was cut on my cricut and the rest of the sentiment was written using my cricut.  I used Sugarplum Glitter Paper and Daisy White Cardstock.  The sequins are from the Silver and Crafty sets.  Yes, I am one of those who likes to sort out particular sequins for my projects.

Here is my video to walk you through how to create this card in Cricut Design Space.  Please know this is my first video of this type so I know it is a little rough but hopefully it helps you and maybe you learn a tip or two.

Here is a close up of that Sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto TERRY METZGER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Color Dare #337 ~ Love of Color

Happy Friday!  This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #337 it is our Love of Color.  This week our colors are Glacier, Sugarplum, Ballerina, Sage, Pewter, Silver.  Simply choose at least 3 of the Colors – Black & White Are Free.

I decided to use Glacier, Sugarplum, Ballerina, Sage, Silver, White and Black.  Basically all colors but Pewter.

For this card I used Sugarplum as the base.  The Ballerina strip is from Something Fierce paper pack.  I used Glacier for the sentiment and used Silver embossing powder. The stamp set is called Critters Ever After from Lawn Fawn.

The base of the shaker is sponged using a stencil I made using a Cricut cut.  I used my sponge and inked with Ballerina, Sage, Glacier and Sugarplum. I used Sugarplum, Ballerina, and Glacier ink to color the unicorn and then used my shimmer brush to add shine.  I used the Shaker Thin Cuts to cut the pieces of the shaker card including the Silver Glitter paper.  I filled the shaker with Loose Sequins – Silver and the used Sugarplum Glitter paper to cut the stars.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #337 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

CTMH Technique Blog Hop ~ Glitter is Glamorous

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 11 of us highlighting our wonderful GLITTER PAPER. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from SARAH DEVENDORF BLOG, you are on the right track!

I so love our glitter paper as it cuts so beautifully with our cricut cartridges. I decided to create a holiday card based off one I had pinned, you can see it here.

All of the images are from the Flower Market Cartridge.  The “Peace” is using Aeolus font. I added some more glitter by using our Shimmer Brush on the poinsettia. I added a little gold glitter gem to the center of my poinsettia. Here is a close up of the poinsettia.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MICHELLE LONCAR’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ G

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “G”. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “G” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY

If you came from LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY   then you’re on the right track!

My life these days is all about cars, trucks, trains and tractors.  Having a little boy it has shifted my scrapbooking from my four legged kids to boys and their toys.  So when I was trying to think what I would use for my “G” element tractors came to mind but more specifically John Deere Green.   Then I though about using Green Glitter paper, Epoxy Gems and Grosgrain ribbon.

ABC's Green Tractor Layout full

For this layout I used my Silhouette to cut the tractor and the tires.  The tittle is chipboard letters I have had for a while.  The fundamental and glitter papers were cut free handed.

ABC's GreenTractor Layout

Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop – Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is JEN PATRICK .   The Stampers with an Attitude are excited to show artwork with Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine, so here we go.

I think the general consensus is one can never have too much shimmer, sparkle or shine in any of their creations.  Close to My Hearts Glitter paper, Shimmer trim, Glitter Gems, Sparkles and Dots are just a few of the ways you can add a little pop to your designs.  For this Blog Hop I designed two cards.  The first was inspired by the card featured in the new idea book on page 99.

Sparkle Shimmer & Shine Blog Hop~ Thank you

For this card I used the new Gold Polka-Dot Washi Tape Z1920, the new Teal Shimmer Trim Z1918 and Aqua Dots Z1935.  I cut the frame which is on page 67 of the Artbooking Cartridge set at real dial 3.75 and then I just trimmed off the “my”.  The flowers are also from the Artbookng cartridge and they are set at real dial 1.75, 1.5, 1.25 & 1. The thank you is from Banner Wishes B1438.

Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine ~happy birthay

For my second card I used my silhouette to cut the flowers in Daisy White cardstock.  I then backed the flowers using silver Z1829 and green glitter paper Z1847.  I used the new Purple Glitter Gems Z1936 for the center of the flowers.  The Happy Birthday is from Joyful Birthdays B1492 and to create this purple color I actually blended Cotton Candy with Gypsy ink.  The way I did this was to ink in Cotton Candy first then ink with Gypsy then stamp on the paper.  I matted the Daisy White on Slate cardstock.

The next blogger on the hop is PAMELA O’CONNOR be sure to check out what wonderful creations she has for you.
