I chose to make a birthday card and my Yoyo inspiration is the Gyrosphere.

Double Trouble Crazy Cousin Guest Designer Challenge #84 ~ Let the Troubles Begin

This month I was asked to be the Crazy Cousin Guest Designer at Double Trouble. This is my second challenge, Challenge #84.

Thing 1:  Trouble Maker says, “Did you know that May 18th is “No Dirty Dishes Day”? This special day encourages people to take a break from doing dishes for the day and spend the time saved doing things for FUN.  So, let’s keep your sink happy, use paper products and do your part by saying NO dirty dishes today!

So… for FUN use some patterned paper from your stash and create an any-occasion girly girl project.” You can stop here… OR play along with Twisted Sister’s optional twist below to earn another chance at our random draw.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister says, “What! No Dirty dishes for only a Day?  My sink is used to being piled up just like my stash.  So let’s choose some embellishments and/or bling (glitter, gems, sequins, ribbons, flowers, etc.) from your stash, and don’t be afraid to pile it on your girly girl project.”  Optional Twist:  If you have included embellishments and/or bling on your project you will earn another chance for our Random Draw.

Thing 2:  Double Dare says, “If you have met Trouble Maker’s girly girl  requirement, with or without bling, you are eligible to enter your project HERE  for Stinkin’ Inkers Challenge #  “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”.  This is a monthly challenge and DTC will be participating starting May 17th through Sunday, May 30th.

Here is my design

I cut two pieces of the Lovely papers 3 3/4 inch by 5 inch then cut along the diagonals. Since I had enough to make two cards, I did!

Here is the inside. I used the Floral Borders and Sentiment stamp set. I colored the flowers with Bashful and Julep Shimmer Brushes. The “thank you” is from a retired Stamp of the Month.

I hope you will join in the fun! Happy Crafting!

Double Trouble Crazy Cousin Guest Designer Challenge#83 Fun Fold

I am so honored to be the May Crazy Cousin Guest Designer for Double Trouble Challenge!! So lets jump right in to Challenge #83 ~ Fun Fold.

Thing 1: Trouble Maker
says, “Maybe it’s time to get out of our comfort zones and try something other than a standard card. Going outside of one’s comfort zone can be great FUN… soooo, let’s create a FUN FOLD project.

Below are several suggested links to tutorials for easy Fun Folds… or if you have already experienced Fun Folds choose one of your favorites. Don’t forget, in your post, to share the tutorial link you used to create your Fun Fold and give credit to the demonstrator and share with other entrants.  You can stop here…
OR
play along with Twisted Sister’s optional twist below to earn another chance at our random draw.

Thing 3: Twisted Sister

says, “I’m jumping with joy… so let’s have some more fun with our FUN FOLDS while celebrating ‘Frog Jumping Day’ on May 13th.

How is the best way to celebrate and have fun? Include a frog on your project… how much more fun is that?”

Optional Twist: If you have included a frog on your project you have earned an additional chance at our random draw. Continue to Double Dare’s dare below and earn another chance.

Thing 2: Double Dare

says, “If you have met Thing 1’s required Fun Fold and also included a frog, you are eligible to enter your project HERE for Crafting Happiness “Froggy” and you have earned another chance at our random draw.

I went with a Z-fold for my fun fold card. I actually was not sure I had a frog, but thankfully I have all my stamps logged in Evernote and was able to find one.

I used one of the pattern papers from Hillside Cottage. I used a Technique Tuesday Stamp set called Felix the Frog. I added a bit of retired New England Ivy Burlap ribbon. I use the Stitched Hexagon Thin Cut for the center.

Here is what the card looks like when it it open.

Mother’s Day Cards

I saw Double Trouble’s Challenge and it inspired me to create these Mother’s Day Cards.

I created a stencil from Artfully Sent. I used some of my oxide inks that matched the best with the colors in Double Trouble. I added the simple sentiment and a few gems. I am also entering this card in Make the Cards Challenge #13.

I then made a couple more with some other colors.

Happy Crafting!

Stitched Florals

I had some time to play in my craft room so I decided to play along with Double Trouble Challenge. They have a fun challenge with #77 ~ Layers, Lace and Pearls.

I played with the Seasonal Mix-in papers and Stitched Florals.

I made this card with 5 to 6 layers depending on where you count. I used the Scalloped Circle Thin Cut for my lace look. I found some gold pearls in my stash for the center of the flowers. The sentiment and flowers are from the Stitched Floral Stamp and Thin cuts.

Heart 2 Heart ~ All You Need is Love

Welcome to the first of February Challenges at Heart 2 Heart!

Our first challenge of February is one that is perfect for our upcoming holiday ~ Valentine’s Day. We realize everyone does not celebrate Valentines but I think we all can celebrate LOVE! So make a card for a love one or design a scrapbook layout to celebrate someone you love. Just remember you must include at least one Close to My Heart product.

For this challenge we are partnering with friends over at Double Trouble for Challenge #76. To link up with them you can simply click HERE.

I decide to make a valentines card as I enjoy sending them. I did follow along with Thing 1 using the recipe ~ 3 Embellishments, 2 Patterned Papers, and 1 Stamp or Digital Image. I also added Thing 3 optional twist to add hearts.

I did color the three wooden hearts with Picked Raspberry Oxide inks. The hearts are left over from a couple of the the Heart Background Thin Cuts from a prior project. I also used a bit of Glitter Glue inside the open wooden heart. Here are the items I used.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. Did you know you can link your projects from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, and many other platforms using the url link to your design. You have until February 28th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #425 ~ Inspiration Board

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we have a good one for you.  This weeks challenge is an Inspirational Board!  You need to use at least three of the colors you see in the photo and BLACK, WHITE, GOLD & SILVER and all Neutrals are Free.

For this challenge we are also partnering with Double Trouble Challenge.

Thing 1: Trouble Maker says, “After getting through 2020 we all need a bit of cuddling! January 6th is National Cuddle Up Day. We are dedicating our challenge to using your CuttleBug (or Big Shot, Gemini, Bira, etc.), with your embossing folders and/or dies.

Thing 3: Twisted Sister says, “The photo reminds me of a song, “Looks Like a Cold, Cold Winter”. I remember singing, It’s gonna be cold outside, but it’s gonna be warm inside, so we’ll cuddle up by a cozy fire, side by side.” Brrrrr! When it’s cold I enjoy cuddling up with my cat. I don’t want Jack Frost nipping at my nose and Kitty knows how to keep him away. Optional Twist: Include a warm and fuzzy critter in your project and earn another chance for the Random Draw.

I used one of the patten papers form the Holiday Stacks from the Seasons in Motion special which did just end. I used the Let’s Paw-ty stamp set choosing to color just some of the dogs. I used Clover and Bluebird cardstock. I used my Close to My Heart Die Cutting Machine to cut the Stitched Hexagons Thin Cuts.

I added a bit of Onyx Pearl Liquid Pearls to some of the dogs noses and to the sentiment.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #425  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Color Dare ~ #373 Black & White plus 3 colors

This week at Color Dare we have a super fun challenge! We are partnering with Double Trouble. So for Color Dare Black and White Must Be Used – Plus Add 3 Additional Colors and No Other Neutrals. Double Trouble Requirement: THING 1: Trouble Maker says, “I went to the Zoo and the Zebra was my favorite animal. Won’t you include something striped (no plaid) somewhere in your project. If you use a black and white stripe you get another chance for the draw.” And the three colors option is to meet the requirement of Color Dare’s requirements.

I was looking on Pinterest for an inspiration since my mind is all over the place with Christmas fast approaching. I found this card and thought it would be perfect. Here is my take.

The black and white stripped paper is from a retired paper pack. The three colors I used is Wisteria, Julep, and Carolina. I added the Wisteria Ribbon and a few Julep Sequins. I stamped Birthday from the Say It In Style in White Pigment ink then used White Embossing Powder on the black cardstock. The Happy dies are from my stash.

I also participated in the Double Trouble Challenge which the following:

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, “I went to the Zoo and the Zebra was my favorite animal.  Won’t you include something striped (NO PLAID) somewhere in your project.  You can use any color stripe; however, if you use a black and white stripe you get an additional chance for the draw.”

Now it is your turn to create!
