Technique Hop – “Anything Goes”

Welcome to the Technique Hop!!

This month we are featuring Anything Goes! So it is up to the Maker to pick the technique they wish to showcase. If you are coming from Melissa Robinson’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 12 makers participating in this hop.

I decided to showcase Distressed Oxide Inks with the Jawsome Birthday stamp and thin cuts.

I used my Distressed Oxide inks on both cards to create unique backgrounds.

For this card I used Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, plus two from my stash Speckled Egg and Salty Ocean. I used a Wave stencil to create the water. I started with the Speckled Egg at the top. Then added Salty Ocean, followed by Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. After layering the colors I spritzed the paper with water to initiate the oxide look. Then using the Stitched Rectangle frame to cut the paper. I then made a hole in the paper to make a spot for the shark to poke our. I inked the edges of the torn papers with the corresponding inks. I added a couple of the green sequins from the Crafty Loose Sequins.

Here is the inside of the card.

I am embarrassed to say I have not played with our Bitty Beads until now but they are awesome. I used my Distressed Oxide inks to create the base of the shaker. I colored the sharks with my Tri-blend Markers. I used the rock-n-roll technique on the sentiment. I used the Waterfall Stickles to add a bit glitter, although one of the dots got smudged 🙁

Here is the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Darlys Recker’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Fall Fun

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks challenge is all about fall!! This could be using fall colors, fall elements or how ever you see fall. Be sure to come play along with us. Just remember that whatever you create be sure to include and clearly indicate that you used at least one Close to My Heart product.

I chose fall colors! I used our new stencils, I chose Stencil Pack 1. I used the new Oxide inks ~ Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple. I then used the new Cheddar Gloss Spray I cut the thank you with my Cricut using the Cooper Ore paper. Note you do have to use a thicker cardstock setting to cut this paper. I matted the card with Cinnamon cardstock and used Sundance cardstock behind the sentiment.

Here you can see the Cheddar Gloss Spray over the pattern. I added Gold Embellishing Tread behind the Wood Heart. I also sprayed the hearts with the Cheddar Gloss Spray then colored with Toffee Shimmer Brush. I then spayed it with the Gloss Spray one more time.

For this heart I backed with Cooper Ore paper then filled with liquid glass.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until September 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

September SOTM Blog Hop – Here for the Memories

Welcome to the SOTM Blog Hop!

If you are coming here from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 20 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

I had this idea to focus on the sentiment “let the good times roll”. I used one of the Happiest Place digital files and cut with my Cricut. I thought the rollercoaster would be fun paired with the sentiment.

I used my Distressed Oxide inks which are one of the many new products we are carrying. I used Cracked Sapphire and Pumice to create these cards.

With this card I sponged the background using dauber. I then spritz the cardstock with water. I used Candy Apple Pigment Ink to stamp the sentiment. I then used clear embossing powder.

To create this background, I smooshed the ink pads on my All Purpose Mat, then spritzed the ink on the mat. I then squished the cardstock into the spritzed ink. I used my heating tool to dry before dabbing it back thru the inks on the mat and heated. I repeated this process until I liked the mount of ink. I framed the card using the frame from the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. Lastly I added a couple of Blue Belle Sequins. Blue Belle is our color of the year!

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of SEPTEMBER and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Your next stop is along this hop is WENDY KESSLER’S Blog, so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.
