Technique Time with Heart 2 Heart

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This challenge is to give Stamped Backgrounds a try. Stamped Backgrounds are a great way to put your own spin on your design by creating your own pattern paper. Here is my card and then I will walk you through my steps to get here.

I love the dinosaurs which go with the Something Fierce Paper Pack. I love the pattern paper with the dinosaurs that come with the paper pack but I wanted to create my own with the cute dinosaur that comes with the Something Fierce Cardmaking Stamp Set. I used the Largest Circle Thin Cut and largest Stitched Circle Thin Cut. I also added the scallop border from Decorative Border Thin Cuts.

I started with the largest image, the dinosaurs and then stamped in a triangle shape with each color. I used Carolina, Bluebird, Lemon, and Willow.  I then used Pewter ink and stamped the confetti in the blank spots.

I also added a bit of random stamping to the stamping to the stitched circle.

I wanted to add a little extra to make the green dinosaur pop, so I added liquid glass and then fussy cut it.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until January 31st to participate in this challenge or any of our January Challenges.

I LOVE, LOVE the new Something Fierce paper pack and it challenged me to design a layout for the first time in a few months.

I used the Make It From Your Heart Idea Book Volume 3 for my layout design using pattern 3. Here is what it looks like with my photos.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ R

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “R”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “R” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog  then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

For my “R” elements I chose READING, RETIRED, ROAR and ROCK.  I love the fact my son love to “read” and quite frequently he will just pull books out and flip through the photos.  I was able to capture a couple fun moments with him in his PJs and monster/dinosaur boots. Here is my layout I created.

ABC's R ~ Reading Layout ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this layout I used the following products:

  • Cardstock ~ Colonial White, Champagne,  Outdoor Denim (retiring), Olive (retiring), Autumn Terracotta (retiring), New England Ivy and plus light blue (unknown company)
  • Pattern Paper ~ Bazzill Dino-Mite Paper pack
  • Cricut Cuts ~ Dino Play (part of my Cricut subscription) & Circle (Days and Dates)
  • Stamp Set ~ Roar D1515 (retired)
  • Tittle ~ Royal Acidbath font cut using my Silhouette
