Color Dare #451 ~ Crazy 8s

Welcome to Friday!! Fridays mean it is time for another fun challenge from Color Dare! This week we for Challenge #451 have a Crazy 8’s Challenge for you. This means you will choose at least 4 of the 8 blocks shown in the image below. Blacks and White are free.

I decided to go with Sapphire, Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Smoothie, Grey, Embellishments, plus Black and White.

I am totally on the Gnome obsessive list. I am loving our new gnome stamp set ~ Chillin with My Gnomies stamp and thin cuts. I colored my Gnome with my markers that matched Sapphire, Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Smoothie (for the pigment of skin but use my blender pen to subtract color) and Grey. I stamped the star from this stamp set on the hat to add more details. I stamped a few fire works to work with the star background paper which is from a retired Seasonal Mix-in. I added a bit of glitter and embellishment with the Steel Stickles Glue.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #451  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. You can also link up via Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr and  other forums. For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Technique Blog Hop ~ Kissing is for Stamping

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!12654374_10153385335867934_7561329688020540845_n

This month we are featuring the Kissing Technique!  Have you heard of this technique??  Well the way it works is you ink up one stamp then take a second stamp with no ink and touch or kiss the inked stamp.  The result is a pattern on the stamp image.  If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

I haven not used this technique a lot but have tried it a couple of times.  Decided to make those adorable balloon animals in this months stamp of the month have a pattern.  Check it out…

Kissing Technique ~ Penelope ~ Balloon Animals ~ Celebrate ~ Artfully Sent ~ CatScrapbooking.comYou can see that the Elephant and Horse have polka-dots.  I inked up the elephant then using the cluster of dots from the Balloon Animals stamp set I randomly stamped the inked elephant stamping the dots off on a piece of scratch paper between each “kiss”.  Then once the entire elephant was random stamped, I then stamped the elephant. I repeated the process for the horse too.

Now hop on over to PRISCILLA GOTHAM ’S Blog and see what she has created for you today.  If you get lost along here is the full list of participants.

Technique Blog Hop ~ A Bit of Blot

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!10408737_10152825873362934_5451681359892116939_nThis month we are featuring a technique called ~ A Bit of Blot which can be found on page 55 of the Annual Inspirations Idea book.  This technique is fun and easy as there is no wrong way to do it 🙂  This month we have 11 consultants featuring artwork using this technique so you will definitely be inspired.  If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from SHEILA BENNETT’s Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

I used a large block and added a bit of Thistle ink using a dauber to the block then spritzed with water using a spray pen then stamped it on my White Daisy Cardstock.  I repeated the technique with Pixie to create my background.  I then used Dizzy Circles stamp set and added a few spirals (I have to say this stamp set reminds me of my childhood with my Spirograph).
