I love the Olivia Besties stamp set and thin cuts. I had so much fun playing with her and making these fun cards. I used Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn to create the background along with some stencils I have. I added the cute Springtime Flower Sequins. I used the Border Birthdays stamp set and thin cuts with White pigment ink and white embossing powder.

For these cards I was inspired by some that Gina Brandstetter created using a fun sketch that Close to My Heart designed. I turned the sketch to the side. The sentiment comes form the Sunny Days Ahead.

Pocket Card Perfection Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pocket Card Perfection Blog Hop!

You will be hopping with the same talented Makers who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring the Picture My Life cards, also known as PML cards! There will be sure to see some beautiful artwork!

If you are just arriving here from GINA BRANDSTETTER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

So I may have gone a bit overboard. I decided to make birthday cards using the PML Cards. I started with just making five and then just kept going. I ended up making 13 and only have 6 of the PML cards from the pack remaining.

For this card I created a background using my Oxide inks and then cut down the Birthday PML card.

These two I created based on patterns 2 & 17 in the Make It from your Heart Volume 4 book. I added some of the In This Together Dots and a Yellow Acrylic Stars.

By trimming off the sentimentI and repositioning it I was able to make it an A4 card size.

For these two I actually used two PML cards. I cut the medium Stitched Rectangle to frame the smaller PML card and paired it with coordinating cardstock. I added a Pink Acrylic Heart and a Yellow Acrylic star. The sentiment on the right is from the Birthday Banners Stamp and Thin Cuts.

The one on the right I hand cut balloons. I added a bit of Liquid glass to all of the ballons. The sentiments are from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

For these two I used some fo the same elements as above, just in a landscape card.

The card on the right uses two PML cards and I used the Raspberry Shimmer brush to go over the sentiment. The card on the left uses the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Wood Shapes. I used Chipped Sapphire Oxide ink to color and then went over with my Sapphire Shimmer Brush.

Color Dare #428 ~ One +One + One

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we are back with the One + One + One Recipe. Here is how it works pick one of the Neutrals seen in the first square, then pick one Metallic, and then you will choose one color for your design. Note BLACK and WHITE are Free.

I went with Grey for my neutral, Silver, and Blue with Black and White.

So I have had this double for a while now but have never tried to make one. I was organizing all of my dies and decided it was time to learn. I needed to make a fun birthday card for my husband so I used the Yedi or Not. Both the double slider and Yedi stamp set are by Lawn Fawn. The mountain dies are from Mama Elephant.

Here is what it looks like open. I used the Fancy Border Thin Cuts for the snow. The background was created using Oxide inks. Here is a video to show it in motion.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #428  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

December SOTM Blog Hop – Happiness Never Grows Old

Welcome to the December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

If you are coming here from LAUREN MOORE’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 16 Makers participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

You can’t go wrong with these beautiful flowers. This is what I focused on.

I started designing this card and planned to use the Thanks over the middle but then realized it would cover almost all of the flowers. So I went with a smaller middle utilizing the On Your Birthday Stamp Set. I did use Black Pigment ink and then went over with Clear Embossing Powder. I splatted Wisteria Shimmer Bush and added a bit of Diamond Stickles. I also used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts on the White Daisy Cardstock.

This is the inside fo the card.

So when I realized I needed to spread the flower out, I also realized I would need more. So I did do a bit of masking to add extra flowers and leaves. I used the Thanks Thin Cuts and went over the letters with the Wisteria Shimmer Bush. I did add a little of the Diamond Stickles.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of DECEMBER. If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! Heart 2 Heart ~ New to You

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This is s fun theme! You can feature a new product, a new technique, a new baby, a new house, a new pet…. you get the picture. Please join us! The only requirement is you must use at least one Close to My Heart product.

I decided to play around with my oxide inks and gloss sprays which are still new to me. I used the new stencils with Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers. I then added Lime Gloss Spray and Turquoise Gloss Spray.

I stared by sponging on the colors. I then spritzed with water so the oxide reaction would occur. Then I sprayed and splattered the gloss sprays. For this card I cut the “happy” with my Cricut using the Black Ore paper. I used the birthday form the October Stamp of the Month. I used black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. I used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut for the black cardstock.

With this version used the stencil to apply the oxide inks. But before I applied the gloss spray I used the stencil as to create the doodle line like Chelsey Vorosmarty showed. I then added the Lime Gloss Spray and Turquoise Gloss Spray. For this one I cut the Happy with my Cricut, but cut 6 times and glued them together to add dimension.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until October 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

October SOTM Blog Hop – With All My Love

Welcome to the October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

If you are coming here from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 20 Makers participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

This is such a beautiful stamp set and with all those sentiments!

I designed two cards for you today. I will start with the one on the left.

So one of our fellow Close to My Heart Makers, Chelsey Vorosmarty, and I was inspired by one of her cards to create this card. I used one of the left over Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut frames that I had left over. Because I never know when I will be able to use it. I used it like a stencil to sponge on Peacock Feathers Oxide Inks. I then spritzed it with some water. I then sprayed a bit of Lime Green Gloss Spray. I then colored the flowers with my Triblend Markers. I did add a bit of Glisten Stickles Glitter Glue to the flowers.

For this card, I stamped the heart image on Black Cardstock with White Pigment Ink and then used White Embossing Powder. I then colored the flowers and leaves using my Watercolor paint. I backed the black cardstock with Raspberry Cardstock. I did use the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts on the black cardstock.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of OCTOBER. If you are a member of the Close To My Heart VIP program and you place a qualifying order of $50 in the US, you will get the stamp for FREE!! Color Dare #412 ~ Love of Color – Got Candy?

Happy Friday!  This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #412 it is our Love of Color.  This week our colors are  BLACK, FRENCH VANILLA, AVOCADO, NECTARINE, SUNDANCE, and CANARY.  Simply choose at least 3 of the Colors – Black, White, and Gold are free.

I struggled with creating something for this project. I wanted to use the Got Candy? paper but keep using grays. I finally on my third attempt created this card.

I used the Got Candy? Paper with the Seasonal Mix-ins. I used the inside of the Star Shaker Thin Cut for the big star in Sundance and the Avocado stars. The stamped stars are from the Wishing you Everything. I used my journaling pen to accent the star. I did pull a retired M sized stamp for the sentiment. I added a strip of black shimmer trim for a bit of shimmer.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #412  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.
