I used pattern paper from Hello Pumpkin, Blue Skies, and a zip strip from Oh My Heart. I used a white chalk marker to doodle on the banners. I used the Crafting Shapes Thin Cuts. I added some Bluebird splatters.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #392  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Flowery Birthday Cards

Since we have been home more and looking on at social media a bit more. I discovered Honey Bee Stamps was releasing new product in honor of their 5th year anniversary. I fell in love with a couple of products and had to have. So they arrived on Friday and I started to play!

How cool is that flower background? I love this two layer stencil they have. I sponged on the flower petals and then over lay with the center stencil. I used Nuvo Glimmer paste for the centers. I pair it with the Happy Birthday Honey Cuts and Stamp. I used Close to My Heart thin cut flowers which have been retired and the Rectangle Thin Cuts. I used Thistle, Canary and the blue is Faded Jeans Distressed Oxide ink.

Here is a close up to show you that glitter paste and I paired it with Black Glitter paper. I added one of the bees for the Bee Hive stamp set.

Sneak Peek ~ Ladybugs

I am so excited for some of the new products that Close to My Heart is releasing in two days!!! I decided that I would go ahead and share….

These are actually two different cards as you can tell by the wings. I created the wings by using nail polish. I will show you this technique in below. In the card on the left I used Stazon black ink to stamp the dots. The card on the right I used black stickles to color the dots. I created the background by sponging the background with a cloud stencil I created and Carolina ink.

This card was based off the design in the new Idea Book You can see the cool pattern of the red and black nail polish. The black patten paper is from my stash.

Here it is open. I also felt these lady bugs needed eyes so pulled some googlie eyes from my stash.

Now here is the video that I made showing how to make the cool patten papers and also how to assemble these shakers.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Stripes

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week Heart 2 Heart is challenging you to use stripes in your creation. We all have striped papers in our stash so this should be and easy challenge. You can also make your own stripes. Just remember you must use at least one Close to My Heart product in you project.

I decided to make my own stripes. I have been seeing some artwork using stitched strips. So I pulled some of those Stitched frames from the Rectangle and Square Thin cuts that I have left over and made a few more using the These are My People and the Blue Skies Papers which are releasing May 1st. I used the Wild & Free stamp and thin cuts.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until APRIL 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Life’s a Beach

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week with Heart 2 Heart our challenge theme is ~ Life’s a Beach. For me I went to dreaming about going to the beach since we have had to cancel our cruise to Hawaii this summer. So I decided to get some of our prior beach excursion into the scrapbooks. I wanted to show you how awesome the Close to My heart Seas the Day Scrapbook workshops is.

The Seas the Day Scrapbook workshops is an amazing kit that helps you create 2 double page layouts plus 2 single page layouts. All you really need to do is add your photos and assemble.

This is how I put one of the layouts together. Here is how they show it. I did make some minor changes to the right page.

Here is a close up of each page.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until APRIL 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Blog Hop ~ Heat it Up

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use Heat. I think about Heat embossing. This technique is a great way to add texture and can help when using markers or watercolors to keep the colors from bleeding over. If you are coming from MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

I decided to play with Fairy Tale Magic Stamp set. I started with Daisy White cardstock that I used the large Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts to make the stitched base. I used a stencil that I had created this past fall for a halloween card you can see the stencil HERE, it is basically a circle and a rectangle negative. I started by using White Pigment Ink and then Heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder on the sparkles and sentiments. I then held the circle stencil in place and sponged Pixie & Thistle ink. I then used the rectangle negative and sponged Canary Ink. I then stamped the fairy with Black Pigment Ink on velum and then used Clear Embossing powder.

To color the fairy I used Triblend Markers for the hair and skin, by coloring the back of the fair. I then used the shimmer brushes to color the rest. I used Julep, Peach and Clear. I also splattered the Clear Shimmer brush on the base. I am not sure if you can really appreciate it in this photo.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto DARLYS RECKER’s BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Pet-Pourri

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week our challenge is Pet-Pourri. For this challenge we want you to celebrate your pet or possibly an animal that you love. Maybe a card or a layout or what every you feel fits this challenge. Just remember you must use at least one Close to My Heart product in you project.

I decided to complete this layout that I have been waiting to complete. I had to say good by to my boy several years and had not done my memorial page yet. I had this idea to use the hearts and make a frame. I couldn’t find what I wanted in Design Space so I made it myself. It took a bit of time but I am pleased the way it turned out. I used the Best Friends Furever paper pack which is now retired. I also used the the Yesterday & Today paper for the base. I also used the Seasonal Mix-in along with some cardstock.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until APRIL 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!
