Heart 2 Heart ~ So Punny

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week we have a new challenge for you ~ SO PUNNY! There are so many clever phrases that are puns on words that are out there. You may come up with your own interpretation of this challenge. For me, stamp sets that are plays on words associated with animals comes to mind. So this is the way I proceeded.

I pulled a retired paper from Fresh Air paper collection. I used the Stitched Square Frame to cut the New England Ivy. I used Black Pigment ink to stamp the sentiment and then used clear embossing powder. I use a sponge to add Carolina ink to make the background. The stamp set I used is from Technique Tuesday called Chameleon Friends. I also used a bit of White Burlap Ribbon. I colored the snake and branch with my markers.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until March 31st to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

March Stamp of the Month ~ Family Legacy

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring March’s stamp of the month ~FAMILY LEGACY (S2003) a set of 17.

I have to be honest in saying Vintage/Heritage is not my thing. I appreciate it but it is something I struggle with so this stamp set and the Yesterday and Today papers are not really in my wheel house. But I am up for a challenge and here is what I came up with.

For this card I used Espresso for the base and used the Yesterday & Today Paper Pack. I used the floral stamp to create the pattern on the middle of the card. I stamped Espresso on the pattern paper. I also inked all the edges in of the papers in Espresso ink. I used the Oval Stitched Thin Cut for the sentiment. The flower is from the Yesterday & Today Sticker Sheet, which I used my watercolor brush with Sangria ink to color. The leaves are from the Yesterday & Today Velum, which I colored with Fern ink.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of MARCH and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Color Dare #383 ~ Tic-Tac-Toe

This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #383 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe board this time it is a mix of soft pastel like colors.  For this challenge you can use any diagonal, row or column, you can add in any of the other colors shown.  Blacks & Whites are FREE and so are all neutrals.

I decided to go with the first column ~ Smoothie, Carolina, and Glacier. I also decided to play with a stamp set that I recently purchased. Gnomes seem to be everywhere these days, or maybe it is just me. I think they are super cute! This stamp set is from Honey Bee Stamps called Gnome Place Like Home and is really more of a holiday stamp set with its elements and sentiments.

I decided to make it more of an any time by my choice of colors. I used the Glacier polka-dot paper from the Celebrate Today Paper Pack. I then pulled a smoothie patten paper from my retired stash for the strip across the top. I used a bit of White Glitter paper and made a ribbon with and topped with a White Dot. The flowers were cut on my Cricut and are from the Artiste collection. The card is based on pattern 6 from the Make it from Your Heart Volume 4.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #383  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

H2H ~ Texture It

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

I love this concept of texture!!! The possibilities are numerous!! It could be adding using heat embossing, dry embossing, layering paper, using ribbon, texture paste…. the possibilities are endless. I love using stencils and texture paste, although I don’t do it as much as I would like to, but plan to do more!!

To create this card I used a couple of our Stitched Rectangular Thin Cuts. I chose Canary, Black and White Daisy Cardstock. The stamp set is Country Bee which was sold with a coordinating Thin Cut; however, the thin cut is no longer available but the stamp is.

I created the stencil with my Cricut and the Stencil Sheets. I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste with a couple drops of Canary Re-Inker to make it yellow. Once this had dried I then cut the smaller rectangle. I colored the bee with our Tri-Blend Markers. The sentiment is from A Birthday in Watercolor Stamp Set.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until February 29th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #382 ~ Monochromatic Purple

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we have a good one for you.  This weeks challenge is PURPLES!  You can use BLACK & WHITES are GREYS are free.

I have been wanting to play with the wonderful Country Dragonfly Stamp for a while. I decided to look for inspiration in the Idea Book as it is always full of ideas.

I LOVE ❤️ the new color Wisteria so I knew this was the color I would focus on. I random stamped the Country Dragon fly all over my base so that it was Wisteria ink on Wisteria cardstock. I pulled a piece of a PML card from Every Little Thing collection for the strip. Added two rows of Wisteria ribbon. Used the new Stitched Bracket Thin cuts for the sentiment. The “thinking of you” sentiment is from the Craft With Heart subscription that is currently available. I added a few of the Clear Sparkles to the body of the dragonflies.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #382  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

H2H ~ Say it with Flowers

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

Flowers… There are so many ways to use them in our projects. This month there is a wonderful Stamp of the Month that has a fantastic bouquet of flowers. Also we have many papers that have featured flowers like the Celebrate Today papers. Then there are a plethora of flowers we can cut on our Cricuts. The possibilities are endless. What will you create? Just remember you must use at least on Close to My Heart product in you project.

I have been playing around with the double point cards. They are really fun and easy to make. I started with a base in Pixie which is 4.25″ x 5.5″. The next layer is Daisy White which is 4″ x 5.25″. The points are using the Celebrate Today papers are 3″ x 4″, which get scored at one inch along the 3″ side. Then I put a notch at 2″ along the 4″ side. I then folded the points in to make the points. I glued the 1″ scored section to the back of the Daisy White. I cut the frames for the sentiment and the flower with my Cricut. The frame is from Artistry and the Flower is from Complete Creativity. The sentiment is a Birthday Greeting which has been retired.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until February 29th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

I used pattern 5 from the Make it from Your Heart Volume 4. I used the Seasonal Mix-In papers for the base. I used Wisteria cardstock to mat the Daisy White. I used the Stitched Square Thin Cuts on the Daisy White. I then stamped the heart in Black Pigment Ink then used Clear Embossing powder. I also added some Wisteria Ribbon to the bottom.

Here is a close up of the stamped image. I used 13 of our Tri-blend markers to color this image and if you add in the fact that there are 3 shades of each marker that is a lot of different colors used! I am loving our markers and if you have not tried them you should.
