I absolutely love the Aurora papers and stamp sets!!! Particularly living here in Colorado! I love the set of 5 cards that I created using the These are my People, so I decided to use those 5 card layouts to make cards with the Aurora papers. If you want to see the original cards you can find them HERE.

For this card I used Evergreen cardstock with the Aurora papers. I used the Aurora – Scrapbooking Stamp set with A Little Sentiment stamp set. I added a couple of the Blue Seas the Day dots.

For this card I used the Stamp of the Month stamp set for the sentiment. The trees are from the Aurora – Scrapbooking Stamp set using 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.

With this card I used Charcoal and Evergreen ink to rock-n-roll the stamp of the wolf image. I then came back and used the Gold Shimmer Brush to color the moon. I also made a stencil with 3 stars that I used with Texture paste that I colored with Evergreen Ink. I did used Linen cardstock for the wolf image.

I used the same technique of stamping in Charcoal ink the using Evergreen on the edges. I did add one of the Gold Glitter Gems for the center of the sun. I did add a bit of sapphire burlap ribbon which has been retired. I doodled with the Pewter journaling pen to add more dimension.

For this card I used the rock-n-roll technique with the image. The sentiment comes from the Stamp of the Month stamp set for May. I used my Pewter Journaling pen to doodle around the white cardstock.

Northern Lights

I saw this amazing card created with a fellow consultant Sandy Zimmer and knew I had to recreate something like it.

This background is completely sponged. I started by stamping my wolf from Wild and Free Stamp set in Black pigment ink, then used Clear Embossing Powder. I then made a wolf mask by stamping it on a scratch paper and then fussy cutting. I stamped the evergreen trees from Aurora ~ Scrapbooking Stamp set. I used the Black pigment ink, then used Clear Embossing Powder like I did for the wolf. I did use the mask of the wolf when I stamped to make the trees appear to be behind the wolf. Then I started with the background. I used Mint, Carolina, Pixie, Raspberry, Canary and Peacock inks for the sky. I used Charcoal and Evergreen or the ground. I did use the wolf mask to prevent discoloring the wolf. To soften the norther lights I spritzed our stamp cleaner. I then used my embossing pen to dot the background. I then used white embossing power to make the stars. I used my markers to color the wolf. I then used my Rectangle Thin Cuts to get the stitched border.

I have stamped the inside of this card with a Happy Father’s day as I know my husband would love this card.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Home is Where the Heart is!

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week Heart 2 Heart challenge is Home Is Where the Heart Is. I know for all of us we are discovering new things as we play out our stay at home orders. It may be reconnecting with old friends via FaceTime or Zoom calls Learning to navigate working from home, home schooling, and finding new hobbies. For us it has been entertaining, home schooling, and interacting with our eight year old son.

For this challenge create a project to go along with our theme and be sure to include at least one Close to My Heart Product.

I designed this layout to show case some of the fun things we have been doing during our time at home. This past week my son decided he wanted to have fun with shaving cream, and is just so happened that I had some in my crafting supplies. He spent about an hour playing with the cookie sheet full of shaving cream. Unfortunately, I have now be able to get my photos printed in time to add them to the layout.

I used watercolor paints to splatter on the lower half of the Daisy White cardstock. I then did a few strokes in the lower right corner. I then stamped the cute house from the Stay Home stamp set.

I used the Blue Skies Papers and the Coordinating cardstock.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Buzz ~ That’s Bee Talk

I am loving bumble bees and they are so fun when it comes to card making. As I posted the other day I have been playing with some of the newly released product from Honey Bee Stamps. I designed this card using their new Buzz Honey Cuts and stamp.

Here are two card I created. I used a stencil that I made with my Cricut with a Close To My Heart image from Artbooking. I sponged on Canary ink over part of the overlay. I then used the Rectangle Thin Cuts to cut the stitched edge. For the Buzz I layered Black Glitter Cardstock, Canary and Daisy White cardstock. I used the Buzz Honey cut and stamp set for the sentiment. The thanks if from a past SOTM called Card Captions. I also added a couple of Bees from the Bee Hive stamp set and Honey Cuts.

National Scrapbooking Day

Hello my fellow crafters!! Today is the day we celebrate National Scrapbooking. Close to My Heart is hosting a FREE online FaceBook event today! You can check it out HERE!

While I love scrapbooking, I have also become an avid cardmaker over the last 8 years. I decided to make a couple cards using one of the fantastic bundles that Close to My Heart has created to celebrate. You can find the bundles being offered HERE.

I focused on this bundle to make a couple cards to brighten our mail person and some grocery employees.

Here are the cards I designed.

The one on the left is one of the cards Close to My Heart designed and will be teaching today. The one on the right I designed based off of one of CTMH’s cards. I stamped the delivery truck on Glacier with White Pigment ink. I then printed a small USPS logo and attached to the truck. I used my black marker to color the tires.

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop – Time to Celebrate

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring May’s stamp of the month ~ TIME TO CELEBRATE a set of 28.

If you are coming here from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 19 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

I LOVED the tutorial that Miss. Carrie’s Creations shared HERE showing how you can make totally different cards using the same Cricut Cut. I decided to replicate it for the most part using the Stamp of the Month and the new Seasonal Mix-in Papers.

I used the Everyday Memories Cricut cuts. I stretched the cuts to change it from a 4.25″ to 5.5″. I used the white ribbon along the top and added one of the Acrylic Hearts.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of MAY and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Flowery Birthday Cards

Since we have been home more and looking on at social media a bit more. I discovered Honey Bee Stamps was releasing new product in honor of their 5th year anniversary. I fell in love with a couple of products and had to have. So they arrived on Friday and I started to play!

How cool is that flower background? I love this two layer stencil they have. I sponged on the flower petals and then over lay with the center stencil. I used Nuvo Glimmer paste for the centers. I pair it with the Happy Birthday Honey Cuts and Stamp. I used Close to My Heart thin cut flowers which have been retired and the Rectangle Thin Cuts. I used Thistle, Canary and the blue is Faded Jeans Distressed Oxide ink.

Here is a close up to show you that glitter paste and I paired it with Black Glitter paper. I added one of the bees for the Bee Hive stamp set.
