Heart 2 Heart ~ Gifts from the Heart

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This weeks challenge is Gifts from the Heart! Please interpret this however you want. For me I love to create gifts for my family, in particular my parents. I love the new Perpetual Calendar that Close to My Heart came out with this year. I decided to make this as one of my gifts this year.

Here are 9 of the months. I did do all 12 but had not finished them by the time I wrote this post.

For January, I used the following products: Elegant snowflake stamp set, White Glitter paper, Fancy Borders Thin Cuts, The Jubilee Crew and Thin Cuts, Pennant Banner Alphabet Stamp and Thin Cuts, and some of the snowflakes are from retired stamp sets.

For this month I used a couple different die cuts. The string hearts are from another company but the bottom heart border is from the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts. The most of the hearts are the negative of the Hearts Background Thin Cuts. The February is a Cricut cut and part of my Cricut subscription.

For March, I used some retired papers I had around. I used the Gnome Matter Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Gold Glitter Paper to cut the “March” with my Cricut. I used my subscription for the March and the pot of gold.

I used a Cricut Cut to cut this design. I used Glacier, Lagoon, Nectarine, Canary, Toffee and White Glitter paper. I used Lagoon and Mint Shimmer brushes to splatter the background.

For September, I used the Bloom with Grace Cricut Cuts to cut the leaves and sun flowers. I used Pennant Banner Alphabet Stamp and Thin Cuts for the month.

For October, I created my own stencil using a the Artbooking Cricut Collection and Stencil Sheets. I then used Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire Oxide inks to sponge on the background. I spritzed with water and then splattered with Black Shimmer Brush. I used the Spooky Gnomes Stamp and Thin Cuts. The October was cut with my Cricut using Black Ore Paper.

I used the Olive Branch Thin Cut, cutting it multiple times using, Fern, Dessert Rose, Scarlet, Sundance and Wood Grain Paper Pack. The November was cut using my Cricut with French Vanilla.

For December, I used Cricut cuts from the Comfort and Joy Cricut Cuts. I used Fern, New England Ivy, Scarlet, Candy Apple and Toffee Cardstock. I added a bit fo bling with the Christmas Red Stickles. The December is from the Months by Melissa Esplin Stamp Set.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until December 31th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #404 ~ Happiest Place

This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #404 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe board this time it is focused around the Happiest Place papers.  For this challenge you can use any diagonal, row or column, you can add in any of the other colors shown.  Blacks & Whites and all Neutrals are FREE.

Some times it pays to procrastinate. I purchased this Minnie/Mickey mini album from Ginni Candelaria in May of 2019. I knew we planned a trip to Disneyland in November of 2019. My original intention was to give it to my son for Christmas2019. Despite the best intentions, it did not happen. To be honest I am so glad as the original album used a lot of raspberry. I substituted the original papers and used the Happiest Place papers and cardstock. Here are a couple of phots of the album.

I also love the Happiest Place Stamp set & Thin Cuts. I am so excited to surprise my son this Christmas with this album.

Here is another photo of a couple of pages.

Here is the album cover. I used Glacier ink to color the paint and to sponge the circles. I used my Black Shimmer Brush to color the wood words.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #404  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, August 4, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Easter Banner

With our social distancing and stay at home measures, I have had a lot of time to work in my craft room. I don’t always complete some of the specials when they come out. Not with our Easter Traditions, I completed the Easter Egg Banner.

This special is wonderful as when you purchase either of the banner sets you get eight wooden eggs and the coordinating SVG file to form a banner and cut the shapes. I used the Seasonal mix in papers for eggs and cut using the associated cut files. I then used the bunny from Artfully Sent and some grass are both Cricut Cuts.

Here is a close up of the end eggs.

Technique Blog Hop ~ Terrific Treats

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on fun treats.   With Valentines just around the corner I thought I would make a few Valentine treat holders. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from HALEY DYER’S Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

I actually made two different styles. The first on I am going to show you is a Double Ghirardelli Treat Holder that I found on Pinterest by the Robin Griffin.

I used the Oh My Heart papers to make these. I also used the cute sweet hearts from the I Chews You stamp set along with the Stitched Heart Thin Cuts. I used the white ribbon at the top and the Soft Pink Shimmer Trim at the bottom of the left one.

To make this adorable envelope you will need a 6 inch square of patten paper. Then fold along the diagonal. Then you will score at 1/2 inch along the long folded edge of the triangle (Step 1). Then you will rotate your folded triangle and score at 2 3/4 inches. Flip and score again on the other side at 2 3/4 inches (Step 2). Then open up and fold along the 2 3/4 scores folding into the center (Step 3). Then you will create a “W” with the 1/2 inch scores (Step 4). I used some adhesive to attach the tops together and then punched a hole for the ribbon.

The second treat holders are these cute mailboxes. I found them on Pinterest by Helen Griffin.

I used the Oh My Heart Papers, with Glacier, Candy Apple, Ballerina, and Daisy White cardstock. I used the Oh My Heart stamp set to make the flags with the Stitched Heart Thin Cuts.

Then papers you will need is the Base to make the box in 4 1/8″ x 5 5/8″ . The base will make a box by following the steps below. Score the 1 3/8″ and 4 1/4″ along the long side (Step 1). Then score at 1 3/8″ and 2 3/4″ along shorter side (Step 2). The you will want to cut at an angle the scores which are perpendicular to the long side (Step3). This will help to make the box fold neater. Once you have done this to all four sides and trimmed the end it will look like the image in Step 4.

The patterned paper will need to be 6″ x 2 7/8″. you will score along the long side at 3/4″ and 5 1/4″. This will be attached to a bottom piece which is 1 1/2″ X 2 7/8″

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MISS. CARRIE’S CREATIONS BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Anything Goes

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week is a simple challenge….Anything Goes!! This means you can submit anything! Simply use at least one Close to My Heart product in your project and you are good to go!

I had a lot of request for a tag workshop so I have been creating a few tags to add to my monthly Card Workshop. I may even add an extra day so people to come make holiday cards and tags.

I love the Like Nobody Elf stamp and thin cut that is part of the Holly Jolly Cardmaking Workshop. The elf makes the perfect tag. I used my markers to color, but since the markers bleed through I cut a second elf and glued to back to hid the marker bleed. I also added a bit of sparkle with Diamond Stickles.

I am also loving the For the Tree stamp set with the coordinating Custom Ornament Thin Cuts. I used Gold Tinsel, Silver Tinsel, Red Tinsel, and Clear Embossing Powders.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until October 31st to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Holiday Cheer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Cheer Blog Hop!!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our HOLIDAY CHEER Promotion. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KRISTINE PONTE’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I used the Digital cuts that are included with the HOLIDAY CHEER special to cut the snow globe out of the Silver Foil Paper. The Sapphire cardstock was embossed with the new Snowflake Embossing Folder. I also used the Holiday Trimming Stamp Set to stamp the Happy Holidays. I used White Pigment ink and then used White Embossing power. I did do this prior to using the snowflake embossing folder. I then wrapped Silver Embellishing Thread around the bottom. I used the Whimsical Holiday stamp set with Bluebird, Carolina and Sapphire inks to stamp the stars and snowflakes. I mixed the blue sequins from the Loose Craft On and Silver Sequins.

I also made up a few of the tag/ornaments as the special intended. I love that there is a variety of options with this special.

I had to make one as an ornament of my son. I love that this can be the perfect gift for a grandparent one just for us to hang on our tree. I picked out some of the red sequins from the Holiday Loose Sequins and mixed with Silver Sequins.

Here is another with the Gold Sequins and Gold Glitter Paper.

Here is one more. I used the Dark Red Marker to color the base then went over it with the Red Shimmer Brush.

Your next stop is along this hop is WENDY KESSLER’S Blog, so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Heart 2 Heart ~ All About Cricut

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week we have a new challenge for you ~ All about Cricut! This challenge is great opportunity for you to play with your Cricut! I use mine all the time for so many projects. This week I am showing you my October Kid’s Workshop project.

I host a monthly kid’s crafting workshop. For October the kids will make one of these Halloween Count Down and a Halloween card. I designed these using a Chalkboard Easel from Michaels. I used my Cricut to make the cuts.

This one is using the new Complete Creativity Collection. I used a few of the cuts from this collection and resized and blended them. I also added a couple extra like spider which is from Artbooking and the “Days Until” is from my subscription that I sliced with a banner from Artiste.

This one is using Flower Market, Artbooking, Artfully Sent and Complete Creativity Collection. Again the “days until” are from my cricut subscription. For this one I added a bit of Black Diamond Stickles to the bats in the moon.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until September 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Convention Time ~ Roommate Gifts

I am SOOOOO excited!  Today the Close to My Heart Convention starts!! I am in Provo, Utah to celebrate in the excitement.  It has been three years since I have been able to attend so I am so excited to be back.  I thought to celebrate I would share the gifts I made for my roommates.  There is a tradition to make something crafty for your roommates.  I decided to make Postit Note Holders.

Since it it all about crafting what would be better than using the Craft On papers with the Crafting Shapes Thin Cuts.  I made the tops Shakers using the Shaker Window & Confetti Thin Cuts with Shaker Window Foam & Acetate. I used Pixie cardstock as the base.  It was cut at 3 1/2 inches by 7 inches.  I scored the base at 3 1/4 and 3 3/4 inches.  I used some ribbon from my stash to make it look like a gift.

I changed up the colors I used to cut the Crafting Shapes Thin Cuts.  I used the Loose Crafty Sequins and Silver Foil Paper for the scissors. I couldn’t resist making one for myself.
