So last week I built a big fort for my son. He loves it and has been sleeping in it every night. I don’t have the photos printed but I designed this layout for those photos. Here is a photo of what it looks like.

I love the Aurora paper pack and knew it would be perfect for our indoor camping. I used a few Cricut cuts and one from my Silhouette. I also added a some Silver Stickles.

I used The Great Indoor stamp set to make the tittle and to stamp the houses. I used Sage, Linen, and Sapphire cardstock. I used Charcoal, Sage, and Sapphire ink.

Your next stop is along this hop is WENDY KESSLER’S Blog  so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Golfing Layout

I have really been trying to catch up (as if that is ever possible) on my scrapbooking. I am making some progress as I have almost completed 2014.

I used a retired paper pack called Falling for You. This was perfect since the boys were golfing in November.

Drive In Movie Layout

Here is a fun layout from Gavin’s preschool days.

I pulled one of our past valentine papers as the colors worked great with these photos. I was also able to use the Carnival stamp and thin cut that I have been saving, the popcorn worked out great.

I am excited to be working on some of these pages.

Baking Layout

Do you hoard stamps and supplies for that perfect layout? I am finally tapping into some of those items that I have been stock piling.

I have been holding onto the Gimme Some Sugar ~ Cardmakeing stamp set and thin cuts, just for this occasion. I love when my son helps in the kitchen even if it is only to make his favorite cookies. I used all retired papers. The Ruby pattern papers are from a few years ago when CTMH offered patten papers in each collection. The black and white and zip strips are from a Mix-in paper pack that has retired.

Cool Dude Layout

I have to say one of the positive things to come out of our stay home orders is I am finding a bit of time to work in my craft room. Even better is I am completing a few layouts. I have completed more layouts in the last two months than I did in the entire year of 2019. Here is another single page layout I am going to share with you.

I did pull some retired papers from a couple of the mix-in paper packs and used the amazing Glossy Cardstock from Blue Skies. I also pulled some of the wooden shapes which are now retired and used my Black shimmer brush on them. I used the Stitched Bracket Frame thin cuts. I used Charcoal Re-inker with a watercolor paint brush to crate the splatters.

Heart 2 Heart ~ National Scrapbooking Month

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week we are celebrating National Scrapbooking Month with this challenge. You may want to use some of the Blue Skies products Close to My Heart released to celebrate or you may just want to complete a scrapbook layout. Just remember you must use at least one Close to My Heart product in you project.

I decided to use the EveryDay Memories Cricut collection I have a confession, I have never used on of the layouts from these collections. I decided to play with the colors to match my photos better. I have to say it was fun to create and I am pleased with the results. I did encounter one issue in that I had 4×6 photos and not 5×7 as the layout was design to hold. I solved this by matting the photos.

I added a few of the Seas the Day gems and some silver embellishing thread.

I really like the pocket for the journaling.

I also decided to share a card I created from the Blue Skies papers and coordinating cardstock. I used the Sentiments by Melissa Esplin stamp for the Hello. The flowers are also part of the Blue Skies Collection with the Beautiful Day Stamp and thin cuts.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Blog Hop ~ Stencil It

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use Stencils. Stencils can be used in a variety of ways. Two of my favorites ways to use stencils is with texture paste and to sponge on ink. I will show you both. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

With this layout I used a stencil to add texture paste that I colored with Green Apple ink. I used the Blue Skies paper pack and the coordinating Green Apple and Candy Apple cardstock. I also used Sapphire and Canary cardstock. I also used a few of the new wooden buttons which I colored green with my Tri-blend markers. I pulled some of my retired sapphire burlap ribbon to add a little extra to the buttons.

Here you can see the Texture paste and the stencil I used. I knew that I was going to cover most of the Daisy White cardstock with layers of paper so I only did the stencil around the outside. I created my own stencil using our stencil sheets and cut it on my Cricut using an image from Artbooking. I applied ink to my All Purpose mat and then mixed some of the texture paste in. I keep applying more ink until the saturation I liked was reached.

Here is a close up of the detail. I will be ordering my prints for this layout soon so but since I order from Persnickety Prints I wait until I have a few layouts planned before I order.

With this card I used the stencil and applied ink to make the pattern. I used Carolina cardstock which was cut using the Rectangle Thin Cuts. I used the Diamond thin cut from the Aurora Scrapbooking Stamp set and thin cuts. The sentiment is from Celebrating You stamp set. I also used the Beautiful Day stamp and thin cuts. I colored the hot air balloons with my Tri-Blend Markers. I did use my Sapphire Pigment ink and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder.

Here you can see how I used the stencil to apply the Carolina ink and make the circle pattern.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto LAUREN MOORE’s BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Home is Where the Heart is!

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week Heart 2 Heart challenge is Home Is Where the Heart Is. I know for all of us we are discovering new things as we play out our stay at home orders. It may be reconnecting with old friends via FaceTime or Zoom calls Learning to navigate working from home, home schooling, and finding new hobbies. For us it has been entertaining, home schooling, and interacting with our eight year old son.

For this challenge create a project to go along with our theme and be sure to include at least one Close to My Heart Product.

I designed this layout to show case some of the fun things we have been doing during our time at home. This past week my son decided he wanted to have fun with shaving cream, and is just so happened that I had some in my crafting supplies. He spent about an hour playing with the cookie sheet full of shaving cream. Unfortunately, I have now be able to get my photos printed in time to add them to the layout.

I used watercolor paints to splatter on the lower half of the Daisy White cardstock. I then did a few strokes in the lower right corner. I then stamped the cute house from the Stay Home stamp set.

I used the Blue Skies Papers and the Coordinating cardstock.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!
