Heart 2 Heart ~ Slimline

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This is our second challenge for the month of January. This challenge is about Slimline Cards. I have to be honest in that I never have liked the slimline look until about 4 months ago and then a switch flipped. I now love them. Please join us in this challenge and creating your own slimline card, just remember you must include at least ONE Close to My Heart product in your entry.

I used the new Slimline base card which comes with a envelope (so no need to make like I have been doing). The first step was to stamp the snowflakes in White Pigment ink and then use White Embossing Powder. I used Peacock Feathers Oxide ink to create the background. I then cut the Fancy Stitched Borders Thin Cuts using Daisy White cardstock. I then lightly penciled where they were going. I then curved the tree stamp border from the Month of the Year ~ January stamp set along those penciled lines. I stamped in Black Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The Snow Days sentiment was stamped in Sapphire Pigment ink and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.

I wanted to add a bit more dimension to my card so I used my Clear Shimmer brush to add splatters to the background. I also added a bit of Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue. To create the snow I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until January 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Out with the Old, In with the New

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

So we are changing things up at Heart 2 Heart, we are going to two challenges a month. I love the theme for the first half of the month ~ Out with the Old, In with the New! I think we are all ready to say goodbye to 2020 as this has definitely been a strange and challenging year for everyone. Interpret this challenge how you see it best. It maybe you are trying a new technique or using a new product.

I designed a New Years’s Eve layout saying goodbye to 2020. I used the new papers from the January/February Idea Book, the pattern paper is from the Seasonal Mix-in papers. I also finally opened my jar of Solar Flare Stickles Gel and used it with the sunburst stencil from Stencil Pack 3.

Here you can see the Stickles on the pattern paper. I also added some Golden Rod Stickles and Gold Embellishing Thread.

Here you can see where I used one of the Special Covid Stamp sets ~ On Repeat, that was released earlier in the year and then was just offered during Boxing Week Sale. I used Gold Glitter Paper, Black Ore Paper, and Gold Foil Paper. I used VersaMark Ink with Gold Embossing powder on the stamped image. The Champagne glasses, goodbye, and party hat were cut with my Cricut.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Gifts from the Heart

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This weeks challenge is Gifts from the Heart! Please interpret this however you want. For me I love to create gifts for my family, in particular my parents. I love the new Perpetual Calendar that Close to My Heart came out with this year. I decided to make this as one of my gifts this year.

Here are 9 of the months. I did do all 12 but had not finished them by the time I wrote this post.

For January, I used the following products: Elegant snowflake stamp set, White Glitter paper, Fancy Borders Thin Cuts, The Jubilee Crew and Thin Cuts, Pennant Banner Alphabet Stamp and Thin Cuts, and some of the snowflakes are from retired stamp sets.

For this month I used a couple different die cuts. The string hearts are from another company but the bottom heart border is from the Fancy Borders Thin Cuts. The most of the hearts are the negative of the Hearts Background Thin Cuts. The February is a Cricut cut and part of my Cricut subscription.

For March, I used some retired papers I had around. I used the Gnome Matter Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Gold Glitter Paper to cut the “March” with my Cricut. I used my subscription for the March and the pot of gold.

I used a Cricut Cut to cut this design. I used Glacier, Lagoon, Nectarine, Canary, Toffee and White Glitter paper. I used Lagoon and Mint Shimmer brushes to splatter the background.

For September, I used the Bloom with Grace Cricut Cuts to cut the leaves and sun flowers. I used Pennant Banner Alphabet Stamp and Thin Cuts for the month.

For October, I created my own stencil using a the Artbooking Cricut Collection and Stencil Sheets. I then used Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire Oxide inks to sponge on the background. I spritzed with water and then splattered with Black Shimmer Brush. I used the Spooky Gnomes Stamp and Thin Cuts. The October was cut with my Cricut using Black Ore Paper.

I used the Olive Branch Thin Cut, cutting it multiple times using, Fern, Dessert Rose, Scarlet, Sundance and Wood Grain Paper Pack. The November was cut using my Cricut with French Vanilla.

For December, I used Cricut cuts from the Comfort and Joy Cricut Cuts. I used Fern, New England Ivy, Scarlet, Candy Apple and Toffee Cardstock. I added a bit fo bling with the Christmas Red Stickles. The December is from the Months by Melissa Esplin Stamp Set.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Peace on Earth

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This week our theme is Peace on Earth. This can be interpreted any way that you see it. To me it spoke about Christmas and a peaceful landscape. Just remember if you wish to play along with us you must use one Close to My Heart product.

For this card I started with VersaMark ink and stamped the Peace and Stars on cardstock and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The Peace comes from the Craft with Heart Card Subscription Stamp set. I then used Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphires and Black Soot Oxide inks to create the background. I then cut the landscape which is from Yuletide thin cuts. I paired them with the Fancy Borders thin cuts to make the snow with Daisy White and White Glitter Paper. I then cut the whole scene with Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This week our challenge is Eat, Drink, and Be Merry! This can be whatever you interpret it to be. For me it is celebrating the holidays. I have been working on my Craft with Heart Scrapbooking subscription as I finally got my photos picked and printed. I was working on Thanksgiving from 2016 when we had a Friendsgiving. I know this year will be different for so many families but we are looking forward to our quiet celebration at home by ourselves.

I love these layouts as they are so easy to put together and you can modify them as needed.

I added a bit of Blue Belle Shimmer Brush to the leaves and a bit of Desert Rose Shimmer Brush to add some splatters. I also added a bit of Glisten Stickles.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until November 30th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Blue Belle

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

This week our challenge is Blue Belle which is the Color of the Year for Close To My Heart. This is one of my favorites so far! It is so pretty and works wonderfully for winter in my opinion. I designed a fun layout for this challenge. Please remember if you are going to play along please be sure to include at least one Close to My Heart Product.

I designed this layout using the Make It From The Heart Volume 3, pattern 15. I used the Seasonal Mix-in Papers.

I realized I forgot to print one of my photos so I used a place holder for now. I used a white spray paint which is in my stash for the splatters on the Blue Belle cardstock. I used Sapphire cardstock to back the photos. I cut the Sledding fun with my Cricut using Blue Belle Glitter paper and French Vanilla Cardstock. I used the fun Elegant Snowflakes Stamp and Thin Cuts. I stamped the snowflakes in Blue Belle then used the Blue Belle Shimmer Pen and some Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue.

I also used some Blue belle shimmer trim at the top of the photo blocks. I love these colors as they coordinate so well with my son’s coat.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Thankful

Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge!

I can’t believe we are in November!! This month we reflect on what we are thankful for, so this is a great challenge for this month. We hope you will play along and join us. Just remember if you play you must use at least one Close to My Heart product.

Every year around my mom asks me to make her cards or tags that she can use for her gifts to her clients. I designed these four as potentials. This one uses the new Serenity Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Blue Belle cardstock and Blue Belle Sequins. I used Blue Belle, Sapphire and Sundance inks. I did cut a second layer of the wreath in Sapphire Cardstock.

Here is another version with the same Serenity Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts. I used Blue Belle cardstock and Blue Belle Sequins. This time I used New England Ivy with Sundance. The bow I stamped with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder.

For this one I used the Flower stencil with Oxide Inks ~ Mowed Lawn, Candied Apple, and Mustard Seeed to create this card. I used the Stitched Scalloped Brackets Thin Cuts. I used a bit of Gold Stickle glue.

The last one I created my own background using Oxide inks. I then used the thin cut leaves from last year to cut the legs. I also used the wood grain embossing folder which has been retired. I used Cinnamon, Desert Rose, Sundance, and Black Ore papers.

She actually did not like any of these… So I am still working on a design.
