Heart 2 Heart ~ Full Circle

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks challenge is a fun one!! Simply create something using a circle. You could make a circle card or incorporate circles into your card. Really this could even be interpreted in other ways. We look forward to seeing what you come up with. Just remember you need to use at least one Close to My Heart product.

For my project I used a circle to stamp the sentiment which is from the Whimsical Holiday stamp set which is part of the Holiday Cheer promotion and used as my guide to align the holly. The holly which is from the Cedar & Pine Cardmaking stamp and thin cuts. I used Candy Apple and Evergreen inks to stamp. The plaid paper is part of the Seasonal Mix-in Papers.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until November 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Holiday Cheer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Cheer Blog Hop!!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our HOLIDAY CHEER Promotion. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KRISTINE PONTE’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I used the Digital cuts that are included with the HOLIDAY CHEER special to cut the snow globe out of the Silver Foil Paper. The Sapphire cardstock was embossed with the new Snowflake Embossing Folder. I also used the Holiday Trimming Stamp Set to stamp the Happy Holidays. I used White Pigment ink and then used White Embossing power. I did do this prior to using the snowflake embossing folder. I then wrapped Silver Embellishing Thread around the bottom. I used the Whimsical Holiday stamp set with Bluebird, Carolina and Sapphire inks to stamp the stars and snowflakes. I mixed the blue sequins from the Loose Craft On and Silver Sequins.

I also made up a few of the tag/ornaments as the special intended. I love that there is a variety of options with this special.

I had to make one as an ornament of my son. I love that this can be the perfect gift for a grandparent one just for us to hang on our tree. I picked out some of the red sequins from the Holiday Loose Sequins and mixed with Silver Sequins.

Here is another with the Gold Sequins and Gold Glitter Paper.

Here is one more. I used the Dark Red Marker to color the base then went over it with the Red Shimmer Brush.

Technique Hop – “Back to the Basics!”

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on going back to the basics.   There are so many basic stamp techniques that we often forget about such as rock & roll technique, random stamping, masking, and second generation just to name a few. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from DARLYS RECKER’S Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

I thought I would showcase Random Stamping. This is a great way to make your own pattern papers. The trick is to think about stamping in a triangle when stamp the images.

I used the moon, stars and clouds from the  Fa-Boo-lous Halloween stamp set and thin cuts. I used the new Tri Blend Spectum Noir markers to color the witch and make her striped leggings.

I used some Black shimmer trim behind the Lagoon stamped sentiment. I also used the Black Shimmer Brush to fill in the larger star. I also used Diamond Stickles to fill in the moons.

On the inside of the card I used the masking technique. To do this technique you use a Post-it note or tape to cover a portion of the stamped image. Then ink the stamp, remove the tape or Post-it and stamp on paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MAZ WOOD’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Sparkle

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks challenge is SPARKLE ~ this could be glitter, shimmer, sequins or anyway you interoperate this challenge. I went with the obvious with gold, copper embossing and shimmer.

With this card I used the new Stitched Circles Embossing folder on Sangria cardstock. I pulled a bit of burlap from my stash. I used the Layered Leaves Thin Cuts to cut the two maple leaves. I also used the Autumn Blessings stamp set for the pumpkin and sentiment.

For the sparkle I used the new Embossing Ink Pens to coat the detailed maple leaves before embossing them in Gold and Copper Embossing Powders. I added a few loose Gold sequins and then used my Gold Shimmer brush to splatter gold all over.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until October 31st to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Fall

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

Fall is my favorite time of the year as the colors begin to change and living here is Colorado we get to see it. I grew up in Louisiana and there really is no fall colors like you have here. It also mean the temperatures are cooler. Need I go on….

So I have seen a few people designing cards and using burlap, so I decided it was my time. I used the Layered Leaves Thin Cuts to cut the maple leaf out of burlap. I used Goldrush, Sangria, Fern, and Paprika cardstock. I used Autumn Blessing Stamp Set and Thin Cuts. I watercolored the pumpkins using our watercolor pencils.

I knew I needed to add a bit of shimmer or bling so I added a bit of Gold Glitter paper and then splattered the card with my Gold Shimmer Brush.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until October 31st to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

I have also entered this card in the Simon Says Monday Challenge which is also Fall/Autumn.
