Technique Hop – “Stamping on Cardstock”

Welcome to the Stamping on Cardstock Blog Hop!

This month we are highlighting stamping on cardstock! So it is up to the Maker to pick the products and how they wish to showcase. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 9 makers participating in this hop.

Here are the cards I created. I will go into detail about each one.

For this card I used Toffee Cardstock to stamp the Fox from the Wildflower Friendship stamp set. I used Espresso pigment ink and then heat embossed Clear embossing powder. I used my watercolor paints to color the image. I really like how our watercolor paints pop on darker cardstock. I used the Mix-in Paper Pack for the base. I then added a few of the Loose Autumn Sequins.

This card was done the same way at the one above but I used the revers of the mix-in paper for background and I stamped on Kraft paper. You can see there is a subtle difference in how the paints show up.

With this card I stamped tone on tone. I used New England Ivy, Paprika, Papaya and Sundance cardstock and inks. I used a different patten paper from the Mix-in Paper Pack. I used the a World with October stamp and thin cuts. I used my Watercolor pencils to do a bit of shading on the pumpkins. I then added a few of those Loose Autumn Sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto HALEY DYER’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!

It was hard to choose which of these adorable images to use. I decided to show you two ways you could color the flowers.

So I went with the cute hedgehog. I used the Oval Frame Thin cut for both of these cards. One was made into a shaker and the other was not.

This hedgehog I use colored pencils to color. I then curved the sentiment to put below the hedgehog. I used the Papaya cardstock on the black.

For this one I made into a shaker. I added the lagoon loose gems. For this hedgehog I used oxide inks and water on watercolor paper. I then stamped the image on the watercolor paper. I then fussy cut the flowers and paper pieced on to another stamped image.

Color Dare #463 ~ Fall Photo Inspiration

Happy Friday! Fall looks different in very part of the world. Here is Colorado we are slowly beginning to see cooler temperatures and the leaves are beginning to change. For Color Dare Challenge #463 we have a fun one for you. We have a photo inspiration for this weeks challenge, simply choose at least three colors from the photo plus Black and White are free.

I love this photo inspiration! Maybe it is because fall is my favorite! I heard a survey saying would you choose to only have Fall all year or have the other 3 seasons and never have fall. For me I would choose to have fall all year round!

For this card I used the Honey Bee Scattered Leaves Stencil with Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distressed Oxide Ink. I used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut and then matted with Mocha Cardstock. I used Mocha, Paprika and Papaya cardstock for this Sunflower by Honey Bee Stamps. I added a bit of Rose Gold Shimmer Trim to go with the sentiment which is from the For All Occasions stamp set. I added a couple of Rose Gold Sequins for a little bling.

Now it is your turn to create! Technique Blog Hop – Make it Shine

Welcome to the Make it Shine Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are featuring focusing on things that shine! So it is up to the Maker to pick the products they wish to showcase. If you are coming from MICHELLE LONCAR’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 9 makers participating in this hop.

So today is my son’s 10th birthday and I wanted to make him a fun card. One of his favorite stuffed animals in a pair of sharks he named Clark and Clarke. I thought it would be fun to make him a shark theme birthday card.

I decided to play with the Slimline Celebration, new Glitter paper, Oxide inks, shimmer brush, Stickles, and gems. I started by creating my own background using Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and Chipped Sapphire inks. Here is what is looked like.

I then spritzed the background with water and Clear Shimmer brush. I then trimmed it to 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches.

You can see some of those oxide reactions have a bit a shine to it. I cut the Circle Cluster Thin Cut with Capri Glitter paper. I combined the Jawsome Birthday Stamp & Thin Cut with Fishy Greetings Stamp Set. I also used the new Lagoon Gems and Diamond Stickles.

You will be hopping with the same talented Makers who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring artwork from the brand new CORE CATALOG which is A-MAZ-ING! So you will be sure to see some beautiful artwork!

If you are just arriving here from My Heartfelt Sentiment, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 14 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I decided to play around with some of the new colors and our awesome new stencils.

How much fun is this new color Capri?? I started by using the Card Front Stencil 2 for my main paper and used Mermaid Lagoon Oxide ink. I then used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut and matted the paper on Capri Cardstock. The Daisy White circle was cut using the Circle Thin Cuts and the Capri circle was cut using the now retired stitched circle thin cuts. On the Daisy White circle I used two stamp sets ~ Embroidered Circles Stamp Set & For All Occasions. I used a bit of Capri Glitter Paper.

Okay I am not a pink person but this Wild berry color is awesome! I did pretty much the same as the card above but added the Wild Berry Ribbon and Wild Berry Sequins.

For this card I wanted to show off the great flower sequins that are in the Wild Berry Sequins. Yes, I did pick them out. I created my Shaker Flowers by using a Cricut cut from the Serenity Collection from CTMH which I modified. I added some foam tape behind the flower to make a shaker. The leaves are from the a thin cut set that has been retired. I sponged the Mermaid Lagoon Oxide ink onto Daisy White cardstock using the Stencil Pack 1. I then used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cut for the black frame. The sentiment is from For all Occasions stamp set.
