Christmas Cheer ~ Wine Tag

Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are having a wonderful day surrounded by family and friends. We are spending a fun filled day at home with just the four of us (this includes our four legged family member).

In celebration of Christmas I thought it would be fitting to share some Christmas Cheer.  More specifically a Christmas Cheer wine tag, that I created to decorate a gift.Christmas Cheer ~ White Pines ~ Wine Tag ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking

I love the colors with this paper pack as they are boy but can really be used for anything.  I used the new Artistry cartridge to cut the boarder on the top and right side.  I also use one of my favorite new stamp sets Ink Blot D1660.

Christmas Tags Part 1

As you may have read some of my prior posts I am working on items for a Craft Fair I will be participating in next month.  I have been thinking of crafts that would be great for a Holiday Craft Fair ~ gift sets,  cards, ornaments, teacher gifts …..  I thought everyone needs gift tags particularly with the holidays coming up.  I love gift tags and unfortunately did not make any last year and I refuse to purchase ones since I can make my own. So I have been busy…

Here are a couple tags I crated using the new Artistry cartridge.HoHoHo Santa Gift Tag ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comYou can find this adorable Santa on page 47 of the new Artistry handbook.  I thought he would look so cute on the new Fern cardstock.  The tag is 3.89″ high and 2.4″ wide.  See below for the link for the Design Space with cut file. Noel Gift Tag ~ Glitter Tree ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love this one, with the glitter paper.  The green is actually a retired glitter paper but we now have this new awesome green shimmer trim which could also use.  I did use shimmer trim at the top and bottom whit the Gold and Bronze.Warmest Wishes ~ Snowman Gift Tag ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis snowman is so cute!! I used a snowflake embossing folder to create texture on the snowman.  I added  little shimmer trim to the bottom.   The pom pom on the hat and the trim of the hat are colored with a white gel pen and then gone over with some Stickles ~ crystal.

I really hope these go over well as I crated a lot; however, if they don’t no worries as I love them and will be using them for Christmas for the next couple years 🙂 . Here is the LINK to the Design Space cuts, if you use it please be sure to give credit.

Preschool Book

My son started preschool last year only going two days a week. The school he goes to uses Tools of the Mind as their curriculum. I was so blown away by this program and it was great seeing the growth over the school year. I know a lot of parents are cautious to send their child to one, but a Steiner Preschool can be absolutely fantastic for both of a child and a parent. He came home most of the days with is play plan, science eyes and artwork. I really wanted to be able to preserve this for him and keep the collection in an organized way. So I decided to make it into a book. The pages varied in sizes so I had to find a way to make it all work. Since the majority of the preschool material was 5 1/5 x 8 I decide I would scan or photograph the large items and reduce them in size to make a 6 x 9 finished bound book.

Zoe ~ Artbooking ~ School ~ Catscrapbooking

I decided to use Zoe as my paper pack for the cover. I mixed it with pomegranate and honey cardstock. I used my Artbooking cartrige to cut the apple and photos mat. The new Jennifer’s Hand B1484 alphabet stamp set with Slate ink. I did use my black journaling pen to trace the number to make them stand out a bit.Zoe ~ School ~ catscrapbooking.comOn the inside of the cover I used his class photo and name plate from school. He would come in every morning and find the one with his name on it and then put it on a board depending on the answer to the question of the day.

Preschool book dividers -play plans

The play plans are the key to getting them to start writing their names and drawing a picture of themselves. The will also write their plan for the center they are going to. For this divider I just wanted to use the stick figure since he started drawing a bit more of one by the end of the year. The title was cut using Artistry and stick figure is a SVG file with my Silhouette.

Preschool book ~ science eyes ~ catscrapbookingThis section did not start until the spring. They would look at an object and describe it to their friend and then draw it. He only brought home a few but I wanted to preserve these as well. The title was cut using Artistry and microscope and atom are SVG files with my Silhouette.Preschool book ~ artwork ~

This was the last section and since most of the artwork was small or too big I just photographed it all and will include a photo of the pieces along with a few of the original artwork. The title was cut using Artistry and the pallet and brush are SVG files with my Silhouette.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ Q

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “Q”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “Q” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog  then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

The letter “Q” can be a challenge to come up with ideas ~ at least for me.  The first thing that always pops into my head is Quilling paper, but I wanted to do something different.  The next crafty thing that comes to mind is Quilting…. humm… that could work.  So I decided to get very creative in using my Cricut Design Space I used the new Artistry cartridge to weld and make a quilt pattern.  Here is how it turned out.

ABC's Q ~ Quilted card ~ Zoe ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo make the quilted pattern I used the images found on page 7 of the new Artistry Cartridge. I used these two images and sliced and welded to crate the square.  I then used the new Zoe paper to crate the pattern.  I added the stiching with a white gel pen. The Life is Beautiful comes from the Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set D1627.  I used White ink to stamp it and it did turn out sort of light but I like the subtle effect.  I used Whisper as my base and for the boundaries of the quilt.

Artistry Cards ~ Can’t Get Enough of this Cartridge!!

Okay I really love this New Cricut Collection by Close to My Heart ~ ARTISTRY!!  This cartridge includes shapes spanning a wide variety of themes, holidays, and seasons to add some visual spice to any project you create. Get back to basics with the unique font, banners, layered shapes, borders, backgrounds, and other fun icons you’ll find on this cartridge. All of the designs are a must for any crafter!  There are two versions available the traditional cartridge and if you own a Explore or Explore Air you can purchase the digital version. Check it out on my website HERE006f01a9-4d7d-4fde-a5dd-7a5bd0cff86d

For me it includes dogs and cats!!! So as a veterinarian and a crafter this really struck a cord with me.  Because prior to 2011 I scrapbooked my life with my husband and my four-legged kids.  So I gravitate to animals and this cartridge delivers for me.  I know there is an unfortunate need for pet sympathy cards as I have been on the receiving end too many times this year and in the past 4 years.   So I wanted to design a few cards that may help others when that time comes to say good bye to their family members.

Artistry ~ Zoe ~ Pet Sympathy ~ catscrapbooking.comFor these card I used the puppies found on page 9 of the new Artistry card.  the heart is found on page 10 and I just hid the contour lines of the paw print.  the banner is from page 21 but I stretched the image increasing the height and leaving the length the same.  I used the Sincere Expressions A1146 for the sentiment.
