Color Dare #382 ~ Monochromatic Purple

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we have a good one for you.  This weeks challenge is PURPLES!  You can use BLACK & WHITES are GREYS are free.

I have been wanting to play with the wonderful Country Dragonfly Stamp for a while. I decided to look for inspiration in the Idea Book as it is always full of ideas.

I LOVE ❤️ the new color Wisteria so I knew this was the color I would focus on. I random stamped the Country Dragon fly all over my base so that it was Wisteria ink on Wisteria cardstock. I pulled a piece of a PML card from Every Little Thing collection for the strip. Added two rows of Wisteria ribbon. Used the new Stitched Bracket Thin cuts for the sentiment. The “thinking of you” sentiment is from the Craft With Heart subscription that is currently available. I added a few of the Clear Sparkles to the body of the dragonflies.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #382  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

H2H ~ Say it with Flowers

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

Flowers… There are so many ways to use them in our projects. This month there is a wonderful Stamp of the Month that has a fantastic bouquet of flowers. Also we have many papers that have featured flowers like the Celebrate Today papers. Then there are a plethora of flowers we can cut on our Cricuts. The possibilities are endless. What will you create? Just remember you must use at least on Close to My Heart product in you project.

I have been playing around with the double point cards. They are really fun and easy to make. I started with a base in Pixie which is 4.25″ x 5.5″. The next layer is Daisy White which is 4″ x 5.25″. The points are using the Celebrate Today papers are 3″ x 4″, which get scored at one inch along the 3″ side. Then I put a notch at 2″ along the 4″ side. I then folded the points in to make the points. I glued the 1″ scored section to the back of the Daisy White. I cut the frames for the sentiment and the flower with my Cricut. The frame is from Artistry and the Flower is from Complete Creativity. The sentiment is a Birthday Greeting which has been retired.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until February 29th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Blog Hop ~ Color Your World

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are having fun coloring in images with colored pencils, markers, etc. I have been wanting to play with the Keep Your Head Up stamp set which was created as a fundraiser for the Australian Red Cross. All proceeds from the sale of this stamp set go to the support the Australian Red Cross. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from HALEY DYER’S Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE.

I used pattern 5 from the Make it from Your Heart Volume 4. I used the Seasonal Mix-In papers for the base. I used Wisteria cardstock to mat the Daisy White. I used the Stitched Square Thin Cuts on the Daisy White. I then stamped the heart in Black Pigment Ink then used Clear Embossing powder. I also added some Wisteria Ribbon to the bottom.

Here is a close up of the stamped image. I used 13 of our Tri-blend markers to color this image and if you add in the fact that there are 3 shades of each marker that is a lot of different colors used! I am loving our markers and if you have not tried them you should.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Darlys Recker’s BLOG where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Pop Up Shadow Box ~ Penguins

I recently saw a card that The Grand Stampede designed based on a card designed by Jennifer McGuire which you can view here on her YouTube Tutorial. I fell in love and designed one with a fun Technique Tuesday Stamp Set the Playful Penguins.

I love the way this card turned out and I will walk you through the steps. The top and bottom are the same size, 6 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

I scored both the top and bottom the same. I then used a die set I have had for a while but I do not remember who made it. I used the stitched scalloped circle on the top.

I then folded the scored edges in a “Z” shape. Then I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark on the bottom and heat embossed with White Embossing powder.

To create the background I sponged Carolina, then Bluebird, and finally Sapphire. I then used my Stamp Shammy to wipe the embossed snowflakes.

I wanted to create more interest and dimension with the spongeing so I spritzed with My Acrylix Spritz Cleaner.

To make the front more stable I cut a 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″ piece of Carolina cardstock. I used the circle from the Shaker Window Thin Cuts. By adding the Carolina it offers some stability to the front of the card and added a bit more dimension.

Here is the view from the top.

Color Dare #381 ~ Love of Color

Happy Friday!  This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #381 it is our Love of Color.  This week our colors are  LEMONADE, CLOVER, GLACIER, LAGOON, CANDY APPLE, and NECTARINE.  Simply choose at least 3 of the Colors – Black and White and all neutrals are free.

I wasn’t sure which colors I wanted to use so I started by looking at the current papers and which ones would fit. Lagoon and Glacier are two of my favorites so when I found papers that would work I then was looking for another and saw the zip strip from the Seasonal Mix-in and decided Nectarine would be my third.

The lagoon bow paper is from the Seasonal Mix-in and the glacier polka-dots is from Celebrate Today paper pack. The Birthday Greeting stamp set has been one of my go to stamp sets, so I am sorry it has been retired. The butterflies are from the Can’t Get Enough stamp set. I used Nectarine ink with my watercolor brush to create the splatters. I added a bit of Diamond Stickles to add some shimmer to the butterflies. The white shimmer strip is our White Glitter paper. I also used our new Scalloped Circle thin cut.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #381  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

I did use the adorable Oh My Heart papers. I cut strips of paper just at 3/8 inch and then dove tailed them. I cut two hearts with my Cricut and added the cute monster from a retired stamp set Love Ya Silly.

I stamped in Glacier then added some bling with the Red shimmer brush, Black shimmer brush, and Pink Stickles. I also added a couple of Acrylic Hearts.

February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop ~ Cherishing Her

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring January’s stamp of the month ~Cherishing Her (S2002) a set of 23.

CARRIE’S CREATIONS Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 20 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

This stamp set has such a wonderful bouquet of flowers that you will want to make as a focal point on your artwork. Here is what I came up with.

I wanted to create a card with the bouquet as the focus so I started with the one on the right. I decided to play with the new Holographic papers to stamp some of the flowers.

I fussy cut the bouquet and colored it with our Tri-blend markers. I stamped the flowers on the Dreamy Holographic papers and the Oasis Holographic papers. I used Stazon Ink and then fussy cut. I used the Seasonal Mix-in papers and a bit of Black shimmer trim. This cards pattern is number 9 from the Make it From Your Heart Volume 4.

For this card I stamped a portion of the bouquet around the edges ad then colored them. I used the brush stroke stamp from the Can’t Get Enough stamp set. I used Lagoon ink for the strokes and to mat behind the flowers.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of FEBRUARY and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
