I love the Olivia Besties stamp set and thin cuts. I had so much fun playing with her and making these fun cards. I used Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn to create the background along with some stencils I have. I added the cute Springtime Flower Sequins. I used the Border Birthdays stamp set and thin cuts with White pigment ink and white embossing powder.

For these cards I was inspired by some that Gina Brandstetter created using a fun sketch that Close to My Heart designed. I turned the sketch to the side. The sentiment comes form the Sunny Days Ahead.

Color Dare #439 ~ Black & White Plus One

Welcome to another week and another Color Dare Challenge! For Color Dare #439 you are challenged to use Black and White plus one color of you choice.

I wanted to play with the Eat Play Love – Cardmaking stamp and thin cut. I went with Red as my additional color.

This is a simple card but is so fun. I used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts to cut the black cardstock. I then used a piece of red pattern paper from the Seasonal Mix-in paper pack. The sentiment from the Eat Play Love – Cardmaking stamp and thin cut was stamped in Black ink and then I used Christmas Red Stickles to add a bit of glitter.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #439  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. Heart 2 Heart ~ What’s Your Angle?

Welcome to our first challenge of April here at Heart 2 Heart!

Our first challenge of April is “What’s Your Angle?” For this challenge include an angle or diagonal. Or maybe you can come up with another interpretation of the challenge. I went for a diagonal fun fold card.

I used the floral pattern from the Eat Play Love paper pack. I used the stitched hexagon thin cut and the scalloped circle thin cuts. The stamp set I used was from the Craft with Heart Subscription.

Here is the inside of the card and shows the angles. To make this card take and 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch sheet of cardstock. Cut on the diagonal and you will have card bases for two cards. Then score at 5 1/2 inches and 4 1/2 inches. The Avocado strip at the bottom was stamped with the Charming Backgrounds stamp set.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. Did you know you can link your projects from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, and many other platforms using the url link to your design. You have until April 3oth, 2021 to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

I will admit this was a challenging stamp set. I had to do some searches on Pinterest for ideas. Then inspiration hit. I am really happy with the cards I created for this hop.

I designed to two cards. I used a circle and a heart as my stencil to stamp in the open space. Here is the circle stencil I created.

I went in to Circut to create this stencil. I then overlaid this cut image to Daisy White Cardstock and then stamped with in the image. I used the same method for the heart too.

WIth this card I used Avocado, Peacock, Toffee, Canary, and Paprika. I cut the fox using my Cricut, it is part of my Cricut subscription. I added a few Bitty Sparkles.

For this card I used Sage, Desert Rose, Blue Belle and Pewter. I did add a couple Blue Bell Glitter Gems.

Color Dare #437 ~ 3-2-1 Challenge

Welcome to another Color Dare Challenge!  This week we are back with a Three + Two + One Recipe. Here is how it works pick three colors, then two neutrals and then pick one Metallic.

I couldn’t decide what colors to use so I asked my son to pick a color. He chose Carolina, so I went to my Love of Color book and looked for coordinating colors. I chose Peacock and Sage.

I used a bit of gray on the banners and white for my neutrals. Silver is my metallic with the Silver stars and Silver Stickles. The patten paper is from the Seasonal Mix-in papers. The stamp set is Best Wishes All Around which works well with the Circle Shaker thin cuts.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #437  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page. Pocket Card Perfection Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pocket Card Perfection Blog Hop!

You will be hopping with the same talented Makers who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring the Picture My Life cards, also known as PML cards! There will be sure to see some beautiful artwork!

If you are just arriving here from GINA BRANDSTETTER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 12 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

So I may have gone a bit overboard. I decided to make birthday cards using the PML Cards. I started with just making five and then just kept going. I ended up making 13 and only have 6 of the PML cards from the pack remaining.

For this card I created a background using my Oxide inks and then cut down the Birthday PML card.

These two I created based on patterns 2 & 17 in the Make It from your Heart Volume 4 book. I added some of the In This Together Dots and a Yellow Acrylic Stars.

By trimming off the sentimentI and repositioning it I was able to make it an A4 card size.

For these two I actually used two PML cards. I cut the medium Stitched Rectangle to frame the smaller PML card and paired it with coordinating cardstock. I added a Pink Acrylic Heart and a Yellow Acrylic star. The sentiment on the right is from the Birthday Banners Stamp and Thin Cuts.

The one on the right I hand cut balloons. I added a bit of Liquid glass to all of the ballons. The sentiments are from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

For these two I used some fo the same elements as above, just in a landscape card.

The card on the right uses two PML cards and I used the Raspberry Shimmer brush to go over the sentiment. The card on the left uses the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Wood Shapes. I used Chipped Sapphire Oxide ink to color and then went over with my Sapphire Shimmer Brush.

I initially picked the middle row ~ Smoothie, Almond, & Canary. In the end I think I used every color with the egg pattern paper from the Daisy Meadows Paper Pack.

I used the cute Daisy Meadows – Cardmaking stamp set and thin cuts. I added a couple of the Daisy Meadow Dots. To make the stripes. dots, and zigzag, I used my sliver metallic marker.

March/April Catalog New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the March/April New Product Blog Hop!

You will be hopping with the same talented Makers who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop. For this hop we are featuring the new March-April Catalog that was just released this month! There will be sure to see some beautiful artwork!

If you are just arriving here from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating Makers on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 16 Makers participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I adore the gnomes that CTMH has been releasing, and the Kitchen Gnomes are no exception! I knew they would be the perfect compliment to this layout along with some of the Eat Play Love Cricut cuts and Wood Embellishments.

I used Sapphire, Candy Apple, Almond, and Green Apple as my colors. I used the Seasonal Mixins for the pattern papers. I did create my own pattern Paper on the Green Apple with the Charming Backgrounds Stamp Set. I used the Lovely Borders Stamp and Thin Cuts to make the diamond border.

I felt the Sapphire base needed a bit of interest so I added splatters with the Sapphire Shimmer Brush.

Here is a close up of some of the Eat Play Love Cricut cuts and Wood Embellishments I used. I used Candied Apple Oxide Ink to color the hot mitt. I then went over it with my Red Shimmer brush and added a bit of the Onyx Pearl Liquid Pearls.

Here is a close up of that cute Kitchen Gnome that was colored with my Tri-Blend markers. I decided I wanted him to hold the wooden whisk from the Eat Play Love Wood Shapes. Again I colored the Whisk with Oxide inks this time Black Soot and Candied Apple. I then added a touch of the Red Shimmer brush and added a bit of the Onyx Pearl Liquid Pearls.

Technique Blog Hop ~ Altered Wooden Shapes

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques to alter wooden shapes. Close to My Heart came out with these cute wood shapes that you can use to embellish your cards and scrapbook pages. They are wonderful in their natural state but you can also color them. As you hop around you will see some fun ways to incorporate these shapes and see how we used them. If you are coming from LAUREN MOORE’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 11 makers participating in this hop.

I decided to play around with these adorable Kitchen Gnomes Stamp Set and Thin Cuts. I colored her with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I pulled a couple of the wooden shapes for the Eat Play Love collection. I used my Lemonade Shimmer Brush to color the wood flowers and I used Candied Apple Oxide ink to color the bowl. I added a bit of Platinum Glitter Glue to the wood pieces. After attaching the bowl, I cut a second pair of hands to attach.

I realized my card meets the requirements for Double Trouble Challenge #79. I use a gnome for my magical creature and I used the a thin cut to cut the gnome and bracket for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto BRANDI ROBINSONS’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and happy hopping!
