Color Dare #379 ~ Inspiration Board – Valentine

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  We have another great Inspiration Photo – Valentine. Pick colors that you see in the photo and BLACK and WHITE plus all other neutrals are free!

When I saw this photo those sweet hearts made me think of using my texture paste to make hearts. So that is what I did and I will explain how to accomplish this.

To make the textured background I started by making a stencil using different size and shapes of hearts.

Then I used washi tape to mask off the hearts I wanted to color.

I did have to wait between each color for the texture paste to dry before moving to the next color.

I used re-iner to color the texture paste. I also found my texture paste had dried out a bit since the last time I used it so I used a bit of water to help soften it up again.

Here is what they looked like after I finished with all the colors. I used Julep, Wisteria, Pixie, Lagoon, and Goldrush re-inkers. I also used the opaque texture paste.

Here is what the inside of the cards look like. I used the I chews You stamp set for the hearts and the happy valentine’s day. I also used the stitched heart thin cuts. The other stamp set used is Technique Tuesday’s Felicity and Flynn the Foxes.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #379  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Happy Crafting!

  3. I love your backgrounds – so much work goes into this kind of background and I’m glad you explained it so people who visit your blog realize that effort required to create something like this! Awesome work 🙂

  4. Your cards are delightful, Cat! Your use of the paste allowed you to develop your own colors and enough texture to finish off the card nicely. Great coloring of your images, too.
