My Layout Challenge #8

Here is my 8th layout for my personal challenge.  We are dog lovers but more specifically Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes.  For the last 18 plus years huskies have been part of our life.  So anytime I see a cute huskies in crafting supplies, I just got to have it :-).  Well the Polar Pals paper and stickers by Doodlebug Design caught my eye because it had …. a husky.  Anyway I have been wanting to design something with it and then found these photos.

Puppy Love ~ Layout #8 ~ snowflakes ~ CatScrapbooking.comI really love how this layout turned out. Unfortunately it is hard to see but I did use Jumping Geometrics D1637 to stamp the Whisper cardstock. Here is the list of products used:

Today I designed a card featuring the ENDEARING Balloon Animals, more specifically the ELEPHANT.  I used EGGPLANT Fundamental papers from the ENCHANTMENT pack.

ABC's E ~ Balloon Animals Elephant ~ Shaker Card ~ CatScrapbooking.comI used the rock-n-roll technique to stamp the Elephant, first stamping in Whisper then rolling in Slate.  I stamped the confetti in Eggplant in first generation and second generation along with Gypsy.

Balloon Animals ~ Sock Monkey

I fell in love with this AWESOME card designed by Artsy Margi ~ Check it out HERE.  She saw the adorable monkey on the Balloon Animals as a sock monkey which is so clever.  So of course I wanted to give it a try.  Here is my take ~

Balloon Animals Monkey ~ Share the Love ~ Sock Monkey ~ CatScrapbooking.comI combined the two exclusive stamp sets which are only available this month ~ Balloon Animals S1602 and Share the Love CC1060 .  I followed Artsy Margi in using Chocolate ink and Desert Sands to create the sock monkey.  I stamped two monkeys one in each color.  I then cut the Desert Sands and pieced it on the Chocolate.
Supplies used:

Since the Balloon Animals and Share the Love stamp sets are only available this month, be sure to order yours before they are gone!!!

Using Ink to stamp

I was playing around in my craft room.  I have seen on Pinterest some cool cards using a variety of techniques to apply ink.  I wanted to try some.  I have to apologize that I did not think about taking photos of the process, I guess I was just in a groove.

Sapphire Sympathy Card ~ Ink technique ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo stamp the flower I used Blossoming Expressions D1665. I put a drop of Sapphire re-inker on the All Purpose Mat.  Then using the spray pen with water I spritzed it a couple times.  Then I inked the stamp in this water ink mixture.  Then using the second stamp with the detail, I inked it with the Sapphire stamp pad.  I used the Packages, Boxes and Tags D1664 stamp set to stamp the tag.  I used the stitching line to stamp around the white cardstock.  I then used the Ink Blot D1660 stamp set, inking it in the water ink mixture then stamped on cardstock.  Here is a close up of the stamping.

Penelope Artfully Sent Card

I was playing around one of the Artfully Sent images to design a card using Penelope. I decided to hide the contour lines for the card so the cuts would be small and be just the flowers, leaves and ribbon.  In hindsight it would have been easier to cut the card then just paper piece the flower, ribbon and leaves behind… c’est la vie!

Penelope Celebrate Card ~ Artfully Sent Flowers ~ CatScrapbooking.comGranted this was a bit tedious trying to line up all the small pieces, but in the end I am pleased the way it turned out.

Technique Blog Hop ~ Kissing is for Stamping

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!12654374_10153385335867934_7561329688020540845_n

This month we are featuring the Kissing Technique!  Have you heard of this technique??  Well the way it works is you ink up one stamp then take a second stamp with no ink and touch or kiss the inked stamp.  The result is a pattern on the stamp image.  If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

I haven not used this technique a lot but have tried it a couple of times.  Decided to make those adorable balloon animals in this months stamp of the month have a pattern.  Check it out…

Kissing Technique ~ Penelope ~ Balloon Animals ~ Celebrate ~ Artfully Sent ~ CatScrapbooking.comYou can see that the Elephant and Horse have polka-dots.  I inked up the elephant then using the cluster of dots from the Balloon Animals stamp set I randomly stamped the inked elephant stamping the dots off on a piece of scratch paper between each “kiss”.  Then once the entire elephant was random stamped, I then stamped the elephant. I repeated the process for the horse too.

My Layout Challenge #6

Happy Valentines!  I have another layout to share with you this week.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the Cob Layout ~ Catscrapbooking.comI was not really sure about the Kaleidoscope paper pack as it looked so bright and how could I use it for a boy.  Well I have found it really easy by focusing on the greens and yellows.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the Cob detail 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love my Ink Blot stamp Set as I love the look of it and it is the perfect way to add color to a layout.  I also love the fact I was able to use a pattern paper for the journaling tag.

Kaleidoscope ~ Corn on the cob detail 1 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe Corn on the cob is a Cricut cut which is part of my paid subscription.  There are still times when I need to use my Silhouette as Cricut still does not let you modify the designs.  I cannot figure a way to cut the chevrons in half with my Cricut.

Products used:

  • Kaleidoscope paper pack X7202B
  • Cardstock ~ White Daisy, Pear, Sweet Leaf, Canary and Pacifica
  • Ink ~ Canary and Pacifica
  • Stamp Sets ~ Ink Blot D1660 and Cheers 2016! S1511 (retired)
  • Ribbon from my stash
  • Cricut and Silhouette
