Artistry Cards ~ Can’t Get Enough of this Cartridge!!

Okay I really love this New Cricut Collection by Close to My Heart ~ ARTISTRY!!  This cartridge includes shapes spanning a wide variety of themes, holidays, and seasons to add some visual spice to any project you create. Get back to basics with the unique font, banners, layered shapes, borders, backgrounds, and other fun icons you’ll find on this cartridge. All of the designs are a must for any crafter!  There are two versions available the traditional cartridge and if you own a Explore or Explore Air you can purchase the digital version. Check it out on my website HERE006f01a9-4d7d-4fde-a5dd-7a5bd0cff86d

For me it includes dogs and cats!!! So as a veterinarian and a crafter this really struck a cord with me.  Because prior to 2011 I scrapbooked my life with my husband and my four-legged kids.  So I gravitate to animals and this cartridge delivers for me.  I know there is an unfortunate need for pet sympathy cards as I have been on the receiving end too many times this year and in the past 4 years.   So I wanted to design a few cards that may help others when that time comes to say good bye to their family members.

Artistry ~ Zoe ~ Pet Sympathy ~ catscrapbooking.comFor these card I used the puppies found on page 9 of the new Artistry card.  the heart is found on page 10 and I just hid the contour lines of the paw print.  the banner is from page 21 but I stretched the image increasing the height and leaving the length the same.  I used the Sincere Expressions A1146 for the sentiment.

Zoe Workshop left page with photos ~ Artistry ~ catscrapbooking.comThe title Adventure can be found on page 29 of the Artistry cartridge and was cut at 3.57″ high.  The photo frame was also cut using Artistry the image is on page 26 and it was cut at 4″high.  The bicycle is from Artfully Sent it is a pocket card which I hid the contour lines so it was just the bicycle.

Masculine Birthday ~ Freshly Made Sketch #198

So I missed last weeks Freshly Made Sketch so I was determined to make it work out this week.  I needed to create a birthday card for a friend of ours birthday so this was the perfect opportunity.  Here is my take on the Freshly Made Sketch #198.

Masculine Birthday Card ~ FMS198 ~ catscrapbookingHere is what the inside looks like:

Masculine Birthday Card inside ~ FMS198 ~ catscrapbooking.comI know our friend likes the classic cars so I thought using Maximum Power D1564 would be perfect for this card. I used Outdoor Denim, Slate and White Daisy for the colors.  I used Outdoor Denim Pigment ink.  The happy birthday is from Joyful Birthdays B1419.  I did change the orientation of the sketch but it is still based off this design.

FMS198Now that I have successfully gotten my first sketch linked in time 🙂 I hope to be able to continue to play along.

Pawesome ~ Freshly Made Sketch #197

I have wanted for a long time to participate in the Freshly Made Sketch challenges, but always seemed to be behind on my crafting or just missed the cut off.  Well it has happened again …. I finished this card last night and realized the challenge ended Monday. Oh well….. I still like my card so I am going to share it with you anyway.

Pawesome ~ Boken technique ~ Puppy ~ FMS197 ~

Here is the sketch:

FMS+Final+197-001I am loving the purple, blue and green combination (as you can tell from my post from yesterday).  I used Indian Corn Blue, Pear and Thistle inks to create the background.  I used circles and pawprint stencil from Simon Says Stamp.  I have been wanting to use this Pawesome set from Simon Says Stamp which includes the dies, stencil and stamp set.  I used my water color pencils to color the puppy.   I added a little bling with the purple gems.

Artistry Card ~ Sympathy

I am really loving this new Artistry cartridge by Close to My Heart.  What is so awesome is Artistry is available for purchase NOW!!!!  Don’t you want to be one of the first to get your hands on this fabulous cartridge?  If you are interested in hosting a gathering so you can get this cartridge as your 50% off item please let me know so we can get it scheduled.

Sympathy card ~ Artistry ~ Boken ~

For this card I used my cricut Explore to cut the circle in the card base.  I then used flower found on page 2.  I cut the flowers at 3.32 ” high.  When I pulled the image from Design Space the layers of the flower are linked so I kept them grouped while I sized the flower image then un-grouped them.  To create the Boken background I used Pacifica, Thistle and Sweet Leaf.  The “with sympathy” is from Sincere Expressions stamp set A1146 and used Pacifica to stamp it.  I added the Extra Thick Thistle Twine to the stem and frayed the ends.

Pinwheel Card ~Framed ~ SOTM ~ catscrapbooking.comI love this card and technique as our B&T papers work so well with this style of card.

Pinwheel Card inside ~Framed ~ SOTM ~ catscrapbooking.comHere is the inside.  Technically this card does not need a band around it but I wanted to add that extra special something so it is more like opening a gift.  Here is The Zoe version.Zoe ~ Pinwheel Card ~ CatScrapbooking.comAnd this is the inside of the card.

Zoe ~ Pinwheele Card inside ~ CatScrapbooking.comNow if you want to know how to make this cool card here are the steps:

Pinwheel Card step 1 ~Framed ~ SOTM ~ catscrapbooking.comCut your pattern paper to 8″ x8″.  Decide which pattern will be the inside and this will be the side you want  face up for the first score lines.  You will then score on the diagonal rotating until all 4 sides are scored.  Yes this is one of the uses for that cool swing arm of our score board.  You line up the one corner at zero and then use the diagonal ruler.

Pinwheel Card step 2 ~Framed ~ SOTM ~

Pinwheel Card Step 3 ~Framed ~ SOTM ~

Pinwheel Card Step 4 ~Framed ~ SOTM ~ catscrapbooking.comFor this step you will want the outside pattern to be face up on the score board.

Pinwheel Card Step 5 ~Framed ~ SOTM ~
