ABC’s Blog Hop ~ A

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!  We have reset the alphabet and starting again from the letter A.  I am making it my personal goal to make it for every letter.  I missed two last year but not bad 🙂

ABC's Blog Hop

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “A”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “A” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY .  If you just came from Linda’s Blog then you are in the right place.

Now that all the decorations have come down the house feels a bit empty.  I decided I really like having a wreath on the inside of one of my doors and now it looks empty.  So why not make a wreath to take its place that has a winter feel since we are in below freezing temps here in Colorado.  I remember seeing the wonderful Snowhaven wreath featured on page 74 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book and knew this would be perfect.  I used my new Cricut Explore and the Artiste cartridge to create the bow and rosettes.  I had a bit of a learning curve trying to find my Artiste images but once I learned about the codes I was all set!  So my “A” elements are Artiste and Snowhaven Assortment.

Snow haven Wreath ~ Artiste ~ Catscrapbooking.comI did make a few modifications from the one in the Idea Book, I only had one Snowhaven Assortment and Complement but they used two of each.  So I used some buttons from my stash to fill in as the centers of the rosettes.  I also decided to use the black pattern paper instead of just solid back cardstock.  I did back the bow in black cardstock so the busy pattern on the reverse would not distract from the elegance of the bow.  I cut three rosettes at one inch, seven at 1 1/2 inch and five at 2 inch.  The bow was cut at 2 1/4 inch and the tabs were at 3 inches.  The Artiste cuts can be found on pg 55 of the handbook.

Here are a couple closer photos of the details.

I did use some mat board that I had to create the circle to mount all the rosettes to.  You can not see it but it does provide a stable surface so the project can be hung.

  1. Nice job on this big project!

  2. Very nice wreath 🙂 I love bows made using Artiste!

  3. Janna Gray says

    Love the wreath.

  4. This is a great project for a winter wreath. Love the paper, the bow and everything….
Curious how long it takes? to cut and put it together? I’ve seen these around and been thinking about making one. Tell me they are easier than they look! lol

    • Darlys ~ it really wasn’t hard to do. I just needed to figure out how many of each size there were and what colors they would be. Then it is just assembling the rosettes and attaching to a base.

  5. Love the colours

  6. You have done a wonderful job with this wreath, it looks stunning!
