Seasonal Expressions 1 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Seasonal Expressions 1 Blog hop!
Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring Close to My Hearts new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog.  This supplement offers you some wonderful new papers, embellishments and assorted items which are only available until March 2015, so you will want to check it out and get your items while supplies last.
If you are coming here from BRENDA LAPP’S Blog  then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have over 35 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.
I had a hard time deciding what to start with as there are so many cool new items which will be great for Valentines, Spring and any time of year for that matter.  I decided on using the Hopscotch paper pack to complete a layout.  I really love this paper pack so be forewarned  as you will be seeing a lot of it from me 🙂
Hopscotch Layout ~
I wanted to crate a bit of interest between the glacier cardstock base and the blue diamond pattern paper.  I decided to sand the edges but since the core of the paper is white and this paper pack features Colonial White I had to come up with a solution.  I decided to come back over the edges with the Colonial White ink and it really created a neat effect which is hard to see in these photos.

One of the other items I really love are the Hopscotch assortment and the new Junebug Puffies which you an see in this photo.
Products used for this layout:
  • Paperpack ~ Hopscotch X7194B
  • Cardstock ~ Glacier, Flaxen and Colonial White
  • Ink ~ Colonial White
  • Embellishments ~ Hopscotch assortments Z3016 , Junebug Puffies Z3038 and buttons from stash
  • Ribbon ~ Flaxen Extra Thick Twine Z3036
  • Silhouette ~ to cut the title

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ Y

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “Y”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “Y” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY .  If you just came from Linda’s Blog then you are in the right place.

Usually I would struggle with the letter “Y” but this year we are very lucky as one of paper packs starts with the letter “Y” ~ Yuletide Carol.  And how fitting is this that we are embarking on the holiday season, what better way to showcase the Yuletide Carol paper pack.

ABC's Y ~ Yuletide Carol ~

I saw this cut file on the Silhouette store and knew it would be a fun project to do.  When I got to thinking about what I wanted to do for this hop, I knew this would be prefect.  I did modify it a bit with adding more leaves. Also just using a paper ring was not stable enough for all these flowers to be able to hand.  So I reinforced with a mat board ring which is not visible.ABCs Yuletide Carol ~

For this project I used:

  • Silhouette Machine
  • Paper Pack ~ Yuletide Carol
  • Cardstock ~ New England Ivy, Canary and Ruby
  • Inks ~ Cashmere, Ruby and New England Ivy
  • Adhesive ~ Liquid Glass
  • Extras ~ mat board

Your next stop is JENNY GILBERT’s Blog, be sure to check out what she has crated for you today.

If you get lost along the way just stop back to the beginning  LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY to see a full list of participants.
