Wild about Love ~ hey foxy

I used the Frosted paper pack for the back ground which is retiring today.  I used the Chocolate Woodgrain Washi tape Z1930 to create the log and then punched a 1.5 inch circle which was backed with Black cardstock.  The foliage was cut using Art Philosophy in Topiary cardstock.  I added the Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon Z1929 and Sparkles Brown and Tan Assortment Z1753 for added interest.

Don’t miss out on this adorable stamp set as it is only available February 1st through February 28th.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~2

We are so close… only two more days and then you can order some of these new products I have been showcasing the past 10 days.

Today I am featuring one of my favorite stamps.  As you may know animals have always been a big part of my life and so I gravitate to most animals but dogs, foxes, moose and wolves are my favorite.  So I was really excited to see the Do Your Best C1573 stamp set….

I look forward to using it in some scrapbook layouts particularly of photos I have from Wolf Haven and when I went on the Wolf Discovory tour in Yellow Stone a couple of years ago. (yes, I am years behind in scrapbooking but I keep plugging hoping that one day I can catch up ~in my dreams 😉 )  Since I am not ready to do those scrapbook pages yet but now I have motivation. I started with a card for now to get your interest up.

CTMH Do Your Best ~ birthday card

To create this great masculine birthday card I used Chocolate and Colonial White Cardstock with the new Timberline paper pack.  The sentiment shape was cut using my Silhouette.  I used the Chocolate bakers twine from the neutral assortment which will be retiring Z1701 and the antiqued copper studs are from the Mini-Melody Accents Rosewood Collection Z1857.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Joyful Birthdays B1419.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book~ 3

We are getting so close…. There are only three days left to order the retiring items and take advantage of the Cloud Nine promotion.  Be sure to take a look here.

Today I will be showcasing on of the new stamp sets from the new idea book ~ Owls B1450

Isn’t this a fun stamp set?  It can be used for so many craft projects.  I designed two cards to give you an idea.

Owls ~ Tree

For this card I created the background by a dauber to apply the ink to the card base and cloud cut outs as a mask.  For the tree I used our Chocolate Woodgrain Washi tape Z1930 over a rectangle of Saddle cardstock.  I then cut the tree shape and punched a circle in the center of the tree.  I also used one other new product the Black & Grey Epoxy Bubbles Z1935 for the eyes. The leaves were cut on my Silhouette in Topiary and New England Ivy cardstock

Owls ~ Hoot Hoot Horray

For this card I used Kraft, Topiary, Indian Corn Blue and Honey cardstock.  I used the Geometric Background  D1553 and the Chocolate Woodgrain Washi tape Z 1930.

The possibilities are endless with this stamp set.  It will also be cute in scrapbook layouts too.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~ 4

Welcome back to my countdown to the Spring/Summer Idea Book.  We are only 4 days away until you can order the new products.

Today I will be showcasing two new products Lagoon Zipper Lace Z1917 and White Marquee Enamel Shapes Z1961.

Lagoon Zipper Lace White Marquee Enamel Shapes

I have been doing a one page scrapbook page representing each of my son’s first 12  months.  On each month I choose one 5 X 7 photo and highlight the milestones from that month.  Since I have started designing my layouts and having my photos printed using Studio J, my layouts are finished before I get my photos.  I really like doing it this way so when I am designing the layout if I need a photo that is smaller or larger then I just pick the size using the no limits layout in Studio J.  Before I would pick mostly 4 X 6 photos and then realize I wanted it in a different size like 3 x 3 or 2 x 2 and the photo would not work so I would have to have it reprinted anyway.  Now I don’t waste with printing photos I don’t use.

11 months using zipper lace

With this layout I used several paper packs – Later Sk8er, Surfs Up, Footloose and Chantilly.  I also used the stamp set One-Way Border stamp set C1561.  To create the splatter I used Lagoon, Sweet Leaf and Outdoor Denim re-inkers.  I used the techniques that are described at the end of the Artbooking Made Easy video ~ Love, Love, Love which I posted on my blog here.  Instead of using a dauber I used Q-tips so the dots could be smaller and then use a little flick to the Q-tip which was heavily soaked to create the smaller splatters.

Artbooking Made Easy ~ Crush on Artbooking

I have been wanting to tackle a My Crush Album but I have been unsure

of how to go about starting it.  I know it is intended to be more on the

go style of scrapbooking.  I would love to be able to embrace that but I

have to be honest in saying I have to plan and not just fly by the seat of

my pants.  I so admire those who do.  After seeing this video which

incorporates Artbooking into the My Crush Albums, I now know how

I can proceed.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~ 5

Wow we are already halfway though the countdown!  Only 5 more days until you can order from the new idea book!  However that means you only have 5 more days to order these retiring items, so be sure to check it out.

Today I am featuring Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon Z1929.

mini chevron ribbon

Unfortunately one of our good friends had to say goodbye to one of their beloved family members, their Golden Retriever.  I wanted to design a sympathy card for them.  I was able to modify a line drawing of a Golden into a cut file on my Silhouette.

Golden Retiever_

For this card I used Kraft, Saddle, Goldrush, Blush, Colonial White and Skylark papers.  I am excited the CTMH will be coming out with embossing folders and cannot wait to order mine.  Since this card was in honor of a wonderful dog, I decided to use my paw print embossing folder to give some texture to the Kraft paper.  On the inside I stamped “with heartfelt sympathy” from Words of Comfort stamp set C1524.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~ 6

Have you been enjoying seeing some of the new product being used in artwork?  I really have been having fun designing them.  Here is my final Skylark design.   I designed this  this layout which I plan to use for some family photos we took last September when we went to New Orleans for my son’s baptism.  Unfortunately since we live in the Spokane area it is too far for some of my family to travel too.

Skylark Layout -

For this layout I used Skylark Paper Pack X7177B along with an extra Sweet Leaf and Bamboo Cardstock. The flowers are made using the Skylark Textiles Z1970 and the Skylark Accessories Z3000.  The stamped images are in Desert Sand with the Believe in Yourself C1574.  The title and overlay are both from the Artbooking Cartridge.

Everything ABCs Blog Hop~B

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “B”. This may be the name

of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has

chosen as their “B” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda’s blog ~ Scrappy Therapy

If you came from Michelle Battitori – Michelle’s Handmade World then you’re on the right track!

For my “B” item I chose Bling.  It is so much fun to add a little bit of pop to your art work with embellishments like glitter gems, sparkles and shimmer trim.  For this hop I did want to feature some of the new product which is going to be coming February 1st with the new Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book.  I designed a couple cards using the Laughing Lola paper pack and two new items ~ Purple Glitter Gems Z1936 and Purple Shimmer Trim Z1919.

Laughing Lola Thanks_bling

For this card I used Lagoon cardstock and random stamped the butterfly from Love This B1432 with Lagoon ink.  I cut the flowers from the Art Philosophy Cartridge at 2 inches and 1 1/2 inch.  The sentiment is from the Happy Autumn stamp set D1550.  The bling I used were the Sparkles Black Flourishes Z1745, Purple Glitter Gems Z1936 and Purple Shimmer Trim Z1919.

Laughing Lola birthday card_ Bling

For this card I used a retired stamp set Hooray Bouquet D1491 and a non CTMH stamp set to crate the circles in Gypsy, Lagoon and Sweet Leaf inks using first and second generation stamping.  The birthday sentiment is Joyful Birthdays B1419 in Slate ink.  To add my bling I used the Purple Glitter Gems Z1936 and Purple Shimmer Trim Z1919.

Your next stop on our Everything ABC’S blog Hop is Stephanie Feist – The Quilted Scrapper.

Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way 🙂

Skylark Paper Pack

The colors are so wonderful and happy.  For my next  creation I used the Believe in Yourself Stamp Set C1574 and the Skylark WOTG Stamp Set

Believe in Yourself  Skylark WOTG D1591wm

I think I am hooked on the Pop-up Box cards I designed this one first.  The second one I designed one for my husband’s birthday and you can check out that post here.

Countdown to Spring/Summer Idea Book ~9

Welcome back to my Countdown to the new Spring/Summer Idea Book.  Today I am featuring the snip-it of the fundamentals  paper pack Z1939. This is an awesome paper pack which features 2 sheets of 10 different papers all shown below.  The colors are wonderful in the basic color pallet, with one side having a glossy resist and the other is white.  For the layout I used the bamboo paper which features hearts.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I wanted to create a valentine layout.  Since I have a boy I wanted to not go over board with the pinks and reds so I used Bamboo as my base.  But what is valentines with out Blush, Hollyhock and Ruby?  I will be offering a limited number of this layout as a kit for $12, so be sure to let me know if you are interested.

Hugs & Kisses Layout

The heart pattern paper is a mask using an overlay I cut using my Silhouette and using the Ruby reinker mixed with water in my spray pen Z1380.  The hearts and title are also cut using my Silhouette.  I found the You are Foxy cut file on the Spring Holiday Card Cricut cartridge which they were allowing you to use through the Cricut Craft Room last week for free.

Hugs & Kisses_detail1

Here is a close up of the detail. You can see the Bamboo fundamental paper, isn’t it awesome?  I also use the Ruby Chevron ribbon Z1846 and Red Shimmer Trim Z1848.  I used the scalloped boarder punch Z1851 to give it the scallop look.
